Hey guys.
So recently, my phone ran out of battery on me. I plugged into my charger, waited an our or so, and turned it on, but when I turned it on, it no longer loaded ROM and got stuck at the boot logo. Not sure what I've done wrong here, was hoping some of you could help me figure it out. I'm running ARHD 6.0.0 with the repacked franco kernel, as well as the following mods:
- 3 dot removal
- Dim auto brightness
- Smooth 60 fps sense launcher.
Any help would be appreciated guys.

That usually happens when you're still low in battery. There is a series of posts on this here including a .bat script to see your battery's voltage level and charge it.

If I'm not mistaken, in the latest CWM update, you can charge your phone while it's off right? If so, I'll give it a shot and report back in a few hours.
Full charge (green LED) and I'm in the same position. Help anyone?

Hey guys just wanted to tell you that I've solved the problem. I just went into recovery and did a wipe/factory reset. Hopefully that helps other people in the same position as me.

I'm still learning but I know that 1min + boot times aren't normal. I'm running Synergy + God Mode.
I'm also noticing about 1% a min of battery drain. I'm assuming the drain is mostly from 2 source, 1) I'm in it debugging and exploring a lot more and 2) I'm noticing it more due to the accurate battery indicator.
But if there are any suggestions to tweak these I'd appreciate it,
Thanks again!!
Well its a big rom, and you figure 15-35 seconds at the splash screen, and maybe another 30 give or take, you can get a minute boot time, though the very first time it'll take longer cuz' it has to build the caches. Also I would recommend changing the kernel, or wiping the battery stats after the phone is charged to 100%.
yeah what he said ^^^ all the sense 3.0 roms take a while to boot and it is perfectly normal.
Thanks guys, which kernel would you recommend?

I'm running Freedom and it's going good, but there are three Kernels for Sense that I know of. You just have to try them until you find one you like.
Freedom Kernel
1. When I power my device down and connect the charger ClockWorkMod Recovery pops up, Why is that? Is there a way to turn that feature off so my device is completely turned off while charging???
2. Is it safe to charge in recovery? To leave the fone idle for a number of hours can't be safe especially with the words and icons being displayed don't want those images burned into my screen. . .
3. After powering down at 99% I let my battery charge for a bit and not even a hour later I see the fone rebooted itself and I'm back at my home screen with the battery saying 'charged' is that normal???
Thanks in advance
1. It's a bug. 4EXT Touch Does address this, as well as a plethora of bugs from CWM.
2. Yes - I had also experienced the above bug when I was using CWM. I put my phone to charge, then slept. Next morning, the phone was idling on recovery. But I still strongly suggest you use 4EXT, as it is faster and safer.
3. Never heard of this...Ideally the led will turn green, but the phone won't turn on by itself.

I'm using a new 1520mah battery from the EVO 4G Design maybe that's why the device rebooted? not too long before this I left the phone charging for say 4 to 6 hrs and the led never turned green it stayed at orange.
When I rebooted the battery info said 'charged'
Highly unlikely. My guess is it's another issue with CWM. For all we know it could be a random tap of the power button, after all that's all it takes to power it up.

Charging my DZ almost every night and never had this issue.
You should consider using 4ext instead of CWM.
Older version of cwm had that problem, but was fixed a long time ago

The issues still present, I'm using the latest version of cwm.
For me, i always charge my phone only when it runs out. When i plug my charger in, it boots to recovery, but if i leave it for a while, it just shuts off. It seems that CWM doesn't stay on when my phone is on low battery or something.

Charge when it reaches 10 - 5% then tap the power button as soon as you see the recovery menu pop up, it'll bring up a screensaver that should stop it from shutting off.
Don't know why anyone would day 4EXT is "safer", though I'm happy to be educated.
If you leave it for a minute in that state with CWM started, the screen will turn off again so it's no problem, just a slightly irritating bug.

Well, from experience with CWM5 I had a lot of issues with backups. Either MD5 checks would fail or booting after restore would have me stuck at the htc screen. So from that aspect of view, 4EXT is somewhat safer. On second thought, reliable would be a more fitting attribute. Just my 2 cents.

Hi,
I installed Arconium 5.0 onto my Xperia Arc LT15i, following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515148
I started with the Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793
When booting into CWM, battery was ok, then I installed the firmware and after having finished and booted, battery showed 0% and the phone shut down when removing the cable.
I then flashed the Kernel again, no change, so I wanted to try the ArcKnight Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597771
because the version 4.1 link is not reachable, I went with the 4.0 one.
Everything seemed fine, the phone continued to work without power supply, battery level at 85%..but...it kept at this level, did not decharge and charging it made no difference too.
So I deleted battery stats in CWM, did not work, then I downloaded the App Battery Calibration and did a reset there, no change..
It keeps showing 85%, but that's not all.
I plugged my phone all night to fully charge it, after 2 hours of minimal use it sht down, and did not boot anymore until I plugged it into the charger again.
So either it is decharging REALLY fast, or it doesn't really charge.
Does anyone have a Kernel which is working with my configuration?
Thank you

I shut down the phone, removed the battery, put it back in andd rebooted, still no difference.
Then I removed the battery with power supply plugged in, the phone shut down immediately.
I then restarted it without battery, with only the power supply plugged in and it turns off after some seconds again.
Put in the battery again and rebooted the phone, still no change :/

Don't think that's the problem, before the update it had no problems at all, also yesterday a configured the phone during several hours without power supply. I believe it is software related, otherwise I would see the battery gauge vary, but it stays at 85% constantly.
That's why I wanted to know if there is another suitable Kernel I could test with, this one already made the battery go from constant 0% to constant 85%.

Tried everything, nothing works
I found some similar posts where the only solution was sending it back to Sony to get it fixed.
The issue seems to be hardware related when flashing back to firmware 2.3.2, which I had done accidentally by selection an old firmware in the flashtool directory.
So I bought a new phone (Xperia TX) and will send my Arc back to Sony.
Thanks for your help however.
maybe it encounter the battery problem like 0% battery? try use the Fuel Gauge Fix from Google Play made by Bazoocaze

Hi,
Today I was using my phone as usual, battery was about 75%, then suddenly while I was using Whatsapp the screen went totally black (I have to add that it has happened before, but I haven't been able to identify what is causing it, it might be Android 4.2,franco kernell and maybe switchpro).
I think it has to do with the brightness control becase the screen still detects the touchs, the phone is certanly working, but with a black screen (Brightness to 0% maybe?) so after I remove the battery it boots fine.
But this time, when it was restarting the phone I noticed the battery went down to 20% from 75%! That's impossible to happen (Phone would have melted) because the restart time was under 5 min!
What is more strange is that the phone stayed with 20% for a very long time, it even "autocharged" itself (I know it's impossible)...
What could it be? Help appreciated!
Thanks
Setup is:
Gnex 4.2.1 stock
TWRP recovery (last version)
Franco Kernel 342

yap, I have two gnexs both have had this problem.
I can get a screenshot with vol-down + power
but the screen is totally black.
Yeah I've had this screen of death issue too. I've been trying forever to diagnose what is causing the problem. It happens on any kernel including stock. I factory reset, flashed stock images, everything.
I've narrowed it down to the weather channel app, Adobe flash, csipsimple app, or animations being turned off. Still trying to nail it...
i not have restaert using apk franco updater and set :good:
The sudden battery drop is normal when you pull out the battery. Basically, the phone loses it's calibration on the battery capacity. And that " auto charge" is your phone slowly trying to get a better estimate of your phone battery capacity.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I believe that SODs are a common problem faced by many on 4.2 i personally havn't faced it yet =] running arhd with ak kernel
I was able to reproduce this using Velis Auto Brightness https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS52ZWxpcy5hdXRvLmJyaWdodG5lc3MiXQ
After messing with the brightness it wents black screen.
I'm sure this has to do with the autobrigtness!
Best regards

the battery losing charge, and the "autocharge", i see often across many devices. that happens to me when flashing different things over a short time period or when benchmarking and crashing its really not losing the charge, it just thinks it did. the batterystats file becomes inaccurate fairly often, maybe it corrupts. and the autocharge or ghostcharge(usually pretty slow btw) is the batterystats slowly becoming accurate again.

I think you just helped me pin it on animation off. I have had the black screen happen to me 3 times in the 3 days that I disabled animations (stock rooted ROM, developer options). I kept trying to find an app that caused it but the animation off matches the start of my problem.
EDIT: Well, animation off isn't the cause since I just had another black screen.

Totally agree with you!happened to me many times too, especially when crashing after tweaking\benchmarking.
Recently flashed Revolutionary HD ROM, HBoot 1.73, everything was working fine, its a awesome ROM, but last night Battery level dropped zero, I wasn't able to charge during this time. Now its not charging, as I connect it to PC red light is blinking from last four hours and when I connect it to HTC socket charger charging screen appears with blinking red notification light, but its turns off in 30 seconds and remains off for 30 seconds and again charging screen appears with blinking red light and then it keep repeating.
I don't understand why this is happening. I had keep trying to turn it on, once it turned on and showed low battery notification 3% battery and it turned off.
I really appreciate help, its my first post in XDA Developer. I tried to explain the scenario but ignore my poor English.
Thanks.

Solved
I connected the phone and let it charger for whole day, after a day I switched it on and battery was 10% and it started charging normally when phone was on.
I am going to change Rom, Revolutionary HD drains battery very fast. battery level was 100% last night, and whole night phone was on standby, in morning battery level dropped to 9%! and battery details says android system used 85% of battery.
Lukes can you please tell me which recovery you used to flash Viper 4.0.7? I had tried four recoveries but not working. cw recovery says bad package and twrp recovery is not working nor touch neither buttons working.
Thanks
