Hi everyone,
I used to see the "input method" in the notification bar so that I can switch keyboards without having to go to settings, but I haven't seen that for the past few 4.0.4 roms I've installed.
I'm currently using Liquidsmooth 4.0.4
Is there another way to switch keyboards?

There is a setting somewhere in liquid settings that lets you enable/disable the notification in the notification bar to switch keyboards it is called IME switcher.

hi,
i finally decided to bite the bullet and installed ice cream sandwich (virtuous quattro rc2 with the wifi fix kernel). everything is ok, except for one thing: switching IMEs.
i know that in ICS you don't long press on text fields anymore; instead there is an keyboard icon that appears in the notification bar that lets you pick your ime.
as it stands right now, that icon in the notification bar doesn't appear. i have to manually go to the settings page and switch the default IME. i need to use multiple keyboards and not having a quick way to switch makes using the device impossible.
is there something i have to do to get that icon to appear? when i tap a text field to start entering text, the keyboard i have selected as default appears, but there is no way to change the IME because there is no icon in the notification bar.
can anyone help me?
thanks!
man i must be blind. upon combing the settings a third time, there was an option i missed in the quattro control panel "enable ime switcher".
can a mod delete this thread?
thanks!
its still a release candidate u may find a lot of missing stuff wait for the dev to fully finishing this project then if the prob still the same u cant tell them
Just as the title says, is there a setting that I am missing or what? I like using widget locker I just wish I could turn the soft keys off like the stock lock screen.
I suspect this is up to the developer of WL to make this happen. I would email him and ask if he could update.
Just an update for anyone who cares but the developer says this option is coming in a future update for rooted devices.

I emailed him a week ago asking about this and he never replied.
WL still shows soft keys :/
You can do that if rooted. I believe it's under advanced and root helper

I must have lost root at some point because I tried this before and it never worked. Works now, thanks a lot.

I´m root, i´m running WL, how can i exactly hide the softkeys?
I can hide the nav bar, but there´s no such option for softkeys.

Damn tapatalk, thanked you by mistake
Seriously?? You're bumping a thread that is almost 1 year old; WL must have gone through loads of changes, and maybe the option isn't even in the same place anymore, and if you're still having issues, and bought the app, you're more than eligible to email the developer to report the issue.
a maguro wrote this.
I know its not exactly about WL, but still it will get the job done if ylou have root. You can now hide soft keys (and keep notification bar) without modifications and reboots. Just try my new app:
GMD Hide Soft Keys
It also adds Quick NavBar - soft keys that can be opened with simple swipe from bottom and then autohide when not needed.
Now, if you only want to hide it seldom, enable Notification in options and app will show notification with switch to turn stock soft keys ON/OFF any time anywhere.
Hi all.
I am at a loss. Running AOKP (4.0.4) with Nova Launcher. Out of nowhere yesterday, this Power control widget decided to add itself to the notification area. I dont even know how it got there and sure as hell dont know how to get it off of there. I know you can add it to one of the screens but did not know it can be added in that area. Does anyone have any idea where this setting is if it exists? I would like to know how to get rid of it before reflashing the ROM.
I know there is another set of toggles you can add which I had but then I was stuck with 2 power control widgets in the notification area. Thanks.
Try touching the settings button in your notification area
I did but then it adds or deleted another set of toggles on top of that one lol

In your app drawer find "Power Controls" and Uncheck the checkmark in the Notifications widget box, and press the pin button to turn it off in the accessibility menu.
Or
Uninstall the entire app

Thanks, man. That did it. I realized that I hid the app. Once I unhid it and unchecked that checkmark, it went away.

Root your phone and remove it using Titanium. The notification is just to say you have other keyboards, not specifically the LG keyboard's fault. It's an Android thing.
Depending on the ROM, there might be a toggle to turn off keyboard selection notification. Look in language/input in settings.
Any possibilities of long pressing on shortcuts of notification bar will open more settings ? For example if i keep pressing on WIFI shortcut it should open WIFI settings. I have not rooted my phone yet. Its running on 6.0.1. This is normally available in HTC & SAMSUNG phones.

For Wi-Fi and Bluetooth you can click on the title below the icon and it will expand to show networks and devices as well as a more settings button. At least that's what I remember of Android M. I also remember being able to long press the icons to enter the settings for the toggle. Maybe that's just for the other buttons like cellular data.

Thanks for reply. I agree those little links below WIFI and BT opens quick setting in same notification window. Then there is more setting link to open full setting options. But that is not available for location services and other shortcuts.
Also those shortcuts are hardly manageable. Only few shortcuts can be added or deleted which is also under beta. Customization option is not available. Hard to believe for 6.0 version of android.

It's "fixed" on Android N. So you have that to look forward to in October or whenever they fully release it. It's also probably available in a custom ROM if you want to go that route.

Hopefully they will fix in Android N. My Nexus 5X still under warranty. Is it worth rooting Nexus ?
