Best bet is to just pay for a code mate, well worth it and then you've got no problems with it locking up if you flash a new radio on to it etc.
5 minute job, get it done!

Hi All
Just acquired a One X in the UK, looks to be in nice condition.
Also have Desire HD and a Sensation which i've successfully s-off'd custom roms etc
Gonna use the one x as is for a while before deciding whether it is worth while rooting etc.
Quick question tho...
Is there a way to check if the phone is sim-locked without a sim?
Phone came without a sim and i dont have a micro sim - have one on order from orange
The previous owner said he used it with an Orange sim so no problems there but can i check if other sims would work without actually trying them?
The CID is HTC-001
Cheers
Stu
Cid HTC__001 is unbranded world wide english model. You should be fine with any sim card.

Hi all,
I have an HTC ONE XL, its Australian on Telstra but not network locked.
Its not listed here, but I'm told its an X but with LTE hence the L
Ive rooted a wildfire s before n was thinking of doing this phone, tossing up between root this or buy a newer phone.
My question is, if I follow the procedures for an X, as in here on this forum, if I root, will I lose my LTE capability?
Anyone recommend any great ROMS?
cheers

Wrong forum this is International Tegra 3 ONE X
what thant means is that you should be going to the AT&T one x forums, you'll find the Telstra one xl there as well and there are quite a few fellow aussies there to help you out.
If I buy a i buy the atnt one m8 is it possible for me to unlock it and use another SIM card ?
Would there be any issues ?
BTW I stay in India .... I already own the one m8 but I wanted to gift one to my sister too..... So I was wondering if it was psossible for me to get the one from the black Friday sale on amazon
You will have to buy an unlock code from eBay and make sure it supports at&t m8 and the unlocker will give you the code if your not in the USA

Her is a link to the at&t HTC one m8 general section about Sim unlocking a GSM phone FREE

Dear all,
I'm willing to buy HTC 530 VZW to use in India. But my doubt is will it work in India without unlocking the phone? Somebody told 4G Verizon phones are GSM unlocked and no need to unlock the phone. Please clarify my doubt. Because I love HTC.
I purchased about 6 HTC Desire 530 from VZW and 5 came SIM unlocked, but one came SIM locked. I think the older ones comes sim unlocked. I'll try to purchase a generic htc unlock code from any of the lot of pages that sell unlock codes and try.
