defy mb525 greenlense rom 2.3.6 rtcee nandroid - Defy General

 this is a modded tmobile nand to display as oficial retail cee defy plus modded to show mb 525 proper and show as mb525 when connected to pc;
credits goes to walter79 for providing the base nand to build this custom rom also for its greenbread mod v2 test2 wich it works properly on the green lense defy.
question:why this and not modded official rtcee
answer:they are the same but different build.prop+extra software(bloat)added, had it installed on phone but could'nt get it to work with any existing greenbread mods therefore its a minimal diference between this and oficial rtcee gb
question:why this and not ggl rom
answer:i respect adi4motion's work, nice job but few glitches with the rom like low sound volume, laggy vid recording, not so proper device display when connected to pc,no twitter blips from cmp(i do that all the time),on wireless heats up hard time,
build info:based on walter 79(all credits goes to its hard work) GreenBread-2.3.6-4.5.1-134-dfp-139-ramdisk.zip+[ROM]4.5.1-134_DFP-231
new boot animation from droid xfaster camcorder framerates and video modes opt available(just like defy+)
full blur with skipable setup(you could try to create an account with blur but dont know if it will work),
all default apps are present as the rtcee(same props)
1% battery, deodexed, debranded, ramoptimizer script, modded build prop to display propper device id &retail central europe version, locale en-uk
Installation:froyo kernel only-be shure you have a rooted greenlense defy mb525 with 2ndinit installed,at boot when led lights blue hold vol down until displays cwm menu,select recovery-custom recovery-wipe data&factory reset-wipe cache-backup and restore-restore sistem+boot.img+devtree.img
atleast faster than froyo rtcee
=enjoy your unattended cee update edition for greenlense
posible bugs:while accesing camera max zoom weird lines but if you press shot it will save propper image visible in gallery;panoramic shot may not properly work on it
2nd init 2.3 mediafire.com/?6vapo66dylz8dag in case you need 2nd init(i recomend latest 2.3)

08/Jun r4 WIP pre-release - MoDaCo Custom ROM for GSM Hero 2.1

All credit goes to Paul over at Modaco "not me lol i just copy and paste it all lol"
I'm pleased to present a WIP (work in progress) pre-release of my next Android 2.1 based MoDaCo Custom ROM for the GSM HTC Hero! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
This is a sneak preview of the base that i'll be using for the full MCR release... to give you all a chance to play, tweak, test, comment etc. etc.
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed. You can read more about how to install a CRI on your device in this topic.
Features Included
•Based on the Chungwa 2.1 release
•Rooted with Superuser 2.1 by ChainsDD
•Built with the latest version of MCR build process which reduces the size and boosts the speed of the ROM
•STOCK KERNEL
•Rooted boot image with 'adb remount' permission and superuser APK
•busybox with Droid Explorer support
•terminfo and settings in boot.img to allow nano etc. use
•System dalvik-cache moved to /cache partition (cachedalvikcache)
•MCR version displayed in 'About' screen
•Added HTC_IME from Legend
•Added APN database to enable auto-configuration of Euro APNs
•Added Click-Drag rearrange to Rosie / Sense
•Added Voice Dialer
•Added Voice Search with optional standard android keyboard
•Updated Google Maps
•Optional dropbear (SSH server, username 'root, port 2222, password displayed in 'About' screen)
•Optional A2SD and A2SD+ (old style) via the online kitchen
•Optional baked in Wavesecure via the online kitchen (installed to system partition for maximum security)
•Optional WiFi Status indicator
•Removed Chinese content (will be available as an optional kitchen component)
•Completely de-odexed for optimal customisability
To install this ROM:
•Ensure you have a custom recovery image installed (see 'requirements' above)
•Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
•Restart your device in recovery mode (power on with the home button pressed)
•PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
•Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Note: As this is a non-odexed build, the first boot will take a while. After you have completed your initial setup, I recommend rebooting to allow the cachedalvikcache script to free up space on /data.
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.

Had a couple of force closes after installing my apps like swype ,so would advise against installing this until paul releases the new version
Yep I spoke too soon,... done a reboot, then everything went crazy!
It's back up now - just setting up, so far so good!
Just tried the second release of the ROM and loving it!
Really quick and no FC's yet.
Is it multilanguage? Include simple Chinse?
I think no chinese
From the features:
Removed Chinese content (will be available as an optional kitchen component)
Everything seems okay, but music player keeps FCing, and having the widget on the dekstop raises an FC every few mins
r5 is public.

thanks for developing for this phone.!
i'm so sad to see very little development support for this phone. the phone itself isn't so bad but stupid a&T #$^#$^ed it up. some settings are so obscure.. my god..
i had to go through so much pain just to enable "unknown sources".
Thanks for the work! Can't wait to try it out. I know I made a few tweeks but need to find some time to learn about development for Android. Hope we as a community can get the camera working next, and then we have a full CW7 port on our hands!
Sent from my MB520 using XDA App
No problem.. camera is a tough one.
I can port and right scripts... but a noob at codeing itself.. camera has always been my downfall.
The more help the better. I am just trying to get things in a easier format for people to do work and have easier updates development.

When you say new recovery, where can I get it? What is the way to access to it?
One more question, I heard that bravo has capped hspda, and also heard something about that CM7 enables it, what can you tell me about it?
thanks
It is already included... old recovery is green and 2.0. Next was orange and is 3.0 (installs with newest defy 2nd init). This is newest with red and is 4.0 that is pre-installed with latest cm7 build. They are all very similiar.
And I believe it does uncap data
Cheers

Defy CM9/Miui V4 Camera fix

For everyone with Miui V4 or CM9 Download this app for camera fix (only basic support, no camcorder yet.)
1. enter the market and search for: Defy Camera. you will find: Defy ICS camera
2. download the app to your rom.
3.launch the app and camera will load.
Bugs: No slideshow and reboot is nedded when you exit the app/
Update: i'm not trying to take credit on Epyslon3's work, I'm making one post only for Defy ICS Camera. Red lens support is included in cm9 latest nightly, i will upload a fix for wiui v4 users
Please state that this works for green lens only.
Red Lens is OK?
Is this pure theft of eppsylon's work?!
Sent from my 1Ghz CM7 + CM9 Defy
an somebody with red lens check if it is working ??
It's already implemented in the latest Miui V4 and CM9 roms..... and yh like Godslayer said it's only working on green lense

[MOD] V20F bell / atnt / xxx Kronic BlueMod v4.3 / V5 / V5.1

Kronic BlueMod V 4.3 / V5.1 for 4.2 framework
- i posted v5 on a reply... wasn't thinking it's on page 1.
- it is normal for first boot to take a long time after flashing mod, during this time the system is updating the cache partitions new drawables etc because system files changed. 1-3 minutes maybe. if it starts to take really long then flash backup zip or reflash the rom you were using to patch the files back to normal, this shouldn't really happen though unless you get currupt download or flash to incompatible rom.
for bell based v20f, also works on most other v20f but some icons may need to be swapped.
- to backup original ui, make a copy of this zip, open the copy with 7-zip, replace /system/app/systemui.apk and /system/framework/framework-res.apk with the CURRENT ones from your phone (adb pull them or something) then rename the copied zip originalUI.zip and put it on your sdcard, in case something goes wrong you can reflash it to go back to default.
- to install just flash the zip in recovery mode, do not wipe cache partitions, the android OS will update them when it sees changed files.
enjoy!!!!
p.s. i don't take responsibility for you breaking your phone.
if you aren't confident in moding these files, but you want something changed just post what it is and i'll do my best to provide you with a personal patch. if there is an icon i missed on the rom you use, let me know and i'll update. (many roms use differant icons)
- if this doesn't work with your rom you can request that i write one specifically for your rom and i may do it.
i do intend on adding other color versions of this so feel free to request colors.
this UI mod is intended to make the amazingly stable and battery friendly v20f a real option by making it pretty.
other additions i recommend are:
power toggles (has a homescreen widget that add's reboot menu with recovery option and bypasses reflashing on reboot by this i just mean a faster reboot by using a root reboot command instead of stock reboot which takes forever)
pocket skip track (allows you do add screen off track switching functionality to stock roms.)
mx camera (gives you hdr camera options without removing 1080p video capabilities like cm10.1)
apex launcher (jelly bean style launcher with lots of options)
exdialer ( a good free dialer with some really nice theme's i bought a payed one for 2 dollars or something that's black and blue)
MHL works on stock roms (micro usb -> hdmi -> tv)
the rom i recommend to run with this is
the legend Ho!No!'s v20f mod 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185178
happy texting !!!
the other feature of this is it should theoretically run smoother than stock files due to less compression.
i will also be posting email.apk LGMms.apk LGCalendar.apk with some better black theme's
this mod is not new but i'm just trying to make a universal one for v20f now, i already have alot of happy users.
--added in 4.3 is standard black background with blue text (on title bar) for any apps or widgets that use default framework values, so far on mine it works for quite a few.
i don't think this will work on roms that aren't deodexed
Kronics BlueMod V5
V5.1 has a few divider fixes and the tab for slider panels/quicksettings in status_bar_expanded
the lockscreen is for pattern lock check attachment if u wanna see it
the screenshot for the quicksettings panel is from before the cyan color was fixed to neon blue
screenshot 16 is V4.3 the others are 5.0, in 5.1 the bottom tab color is fixed on screenshot 26
in 5.0+ BlueMod tag is removed i decided the average person probably doesn't want it.
in 5.1 the bottom bar in expanded panel color is fixed
- i did more work to framework-res to change more of the default backgrounds and font color's for 3rd party apps and such, there are a few system apps that i think have to be modded individually because it didn't apply for them, but you should see some of your apps starting to inherit the theme.
for the pattern lock mod, i disable the showing of the lines because it's extremely hard to mod, it's done in some equation in a smali file somewhere that is differant location on most phones, until someone that has a strong grasp of smali that uses LG phones takes a look i can't mod that
reserved for secondary files
if you want to learn to do your own mod's, or fix something i missed on your rom, the tutorial can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362717
Kronics BlueMod v5
This has only been tested on the rom with 4.2 framework v20f, if someone wants to try flashing it on a non updated framework v20f and let me know if it works that is cool, if not i'll do it when i get a chance, if u do it backup your original files to a flash first.
i already fixed the highligher on the bottom tab for settings panel that is slightly the wrong color (greenish) coming in next update
i'm currently investigating the issue that is causing long reboots on every reboot instead of the first one after install. it doesn't seem to be affecting system performance but i know that is probably annoying people so i'm looking into fixing it.
edit i wiped all drives and installed the rom without the mod and it was only 15 seconds or so faster boot, i think this rom just has a long boot (the 4.2 framework one)

DECEMBER 19: HONAMI CAMERA UPDATE. HONAMI CAMERA ! Nozomi Pure Black Ultimate Privacy UB/LB
December 19. Honami Camera Update+.
From now on, you will have 2 options: 1. Start camera with hardware key and you will have Superior Auto working; 2. Start camera with camera icon and you will have Manual mode with all settings available. All other updates are in. If you are coming from my earlier version, just flash this on top without wiping. If anew, mount System/Cache/Data and format each.

After battling with the Hell of smalis for 2 days and changing icons, finally success! Oprah helped me because she'd heard so many complaints from you.
Here is confirmed working zip (black panel/white icons) to flash in CWM. Don't wipe anything, but dalvik cache.
http://d-h.st/vyH

See post #170 for Finale. I have changed icons in framework-res.apk. This is highly experimental, but no risk to user as they can always return to the previous version via CWM
_________________________________________________________________________________
See post #167 for another attempt to fix smalis at black volume panel

And here is the final try3 for black volume control. If it doesn't work, just flash the previous one in CWM.

Here is black volume control try 2. Back up your rom and flash the zip in CWM. Do not wipe anything but dalvik cache.
Keep in mind that I do not own Xperia S, so I can't check the mode myself. It should work, but if it doesn't, just use JJwrongJJ's ZU framework V4 for XS. You'll just have to live with white panel. And if you don't like it, complain to Oprah...

November 5: Honami Camera is here. No other changes.
Camera: Superior Auto doesn't work, photo image stabilization doesn't work, 2mp resolution doesn't work. The rest is working.
I
Credit to Niabok79 and myself, since our versions are slightly different in that in his when you touch Superior Auto and the camera f/c, you need to do re-initialization described below in steps 1-4 to have it work again. In this rom, when camera f/c, all you need to do is restart the camera by pressing camera button. But again, credit for most work goes to Niabok79 and we have shared our files.
Keep in mind that the original camera is separate and works 100%.
Instructions for initial start:
1. Put camera widgets on your home screen
2. Press the dianosaur button
3. Press the dinosaur button again in the bottom left
4. Choose Manual mode.
Don't touch SA, photo stabilization or 2mp -- otherwise you will get a f/c. If that happens, just exit and restart camera as usual (press camera button)
Download link for this rom with honami camera:
http://d-h.st/Obn
_________________________________________________________________________
November 4: ROM UPDATED
Fixed META-INF script
Fixed Keyboard F/C
Added File Manager
Although, I always prefer clean installation, if you are coming from my original release, it should be OK to just flash the update in CWM.
If you are coming from a different rom, you need to go to Mounts and Storage, Mount System, Cache, Data and format each

If anyone else is not able to flash, here is update-binary and updater-script files revised.
Unzip the attachment, which contains 2 files. Unzip the rom, go to META-INF/com/google/android/ and overwrite the 2 files there with the attached ones. Then rezip the rom and flash again.

Here is a screenshot from ION.
Keep in mind that I have WIFI, Sip service and Mailsynch 24/7. Sip takes plenty of battery juice. If you don't use Sip, you should have even better results.
Also note that Android System is at the bottom draining only about 6%. That is because this rom doesn't have scripts that fight the system (meaning, the script brings the app into ram, then system shuts it down and on and on) all the time, which results in stress on CPU and battery waste...

This camera has video rec upto 1080. There is also burst mode, different focusing options and plenty of effects. Most importantly, it takes half a second for the cam to be ready (unlike stock). Unfortunately, screen shot is impossible when the camera is on. Also, unlike stock, this camera stays even if you flash honami camera on top.
