Is there a way to display multiple gmail messages or go sms messages in my notification bar? Often it will say Gmail - 2 unread messages and Go SMS- 3 unread messages. I would like for all of them two show up one after another. I know that if you have two new gmail messages in two different folders it will display two notifications, but the same inbox doesn't. Thanks!

No, I do not believe it is possible if they're in the same inbox.
Uncheck "Notify once" under label settings... I think

I've noticed that the number of e-mails shown in the sliding panels is not the number of unread e-mail in your inbox. Well, it is, until you open the mail client, then it resets to zero, regardless of whether you read any messages.
So my Outlook currently has 4 unread messages. I click on the Messages panel, click on Outlook and my inbox opens, and correctly I have 4 unread messages. I do not open any of them, so they are still unread.
Going back to the home screen, the sliding panel now says zero.
i.e. this is really showing the number of unread messages since you last opened the mailbox, not the total number of unread messages.
is this just my build? I'm running one of the Ricky/Kavana builds, number 4 I think.

Maybe it's just me...but it doesn't really bother me that I can't see the number of unread messages on my sliding panel. I choose to focus my anal tendencies (pardon the disgusting pun, lol) towards things like fonts and 3G! By the way, where's the 3 daggum G T-Mo?!
I actually like this feature - because I'll always have unread messages in my desktop outlook, without this feature it would always show something like "34". But since I also have a few POP email accounts setup in my phone, I could never tell if I have any new emails in them because they would be mixed in with the grand "unread total".
But, because you can clear the count for the "outlook" inbox by simply opening up that inbox, then any number I subsequently see for email count will indicate that I have waiting email in one of my POP accounts - very cool to me.
BTW, does anyone know where these "new unread since last inbox opened" counts are stored in the registry?
There NOT at locations like this:
HKCU\System\State\Messages\TotalEmail\Unread\Count
Because those are the "unread" count, not the "new since last access" count that the sliding panel notification uses.
I have some labels set up so emails from certain contacts are immediately moved to their labels and are archived. However, while I get notifications for emails sent to my regularly inbox on my Desire, emails sent to the aformentioned labels have no notifications. Any help?
The only way I have found you can get notifications from incoming emails is to have them not archived straight to the label. If they go to the inbox and then you manually archive them, you will receive the notification
Notifications are only generated from messages landing in your inbox, if your archiving them straight away then they are considered "read" therefore no notification will be generated.
Whenever I get multiple texts or emails then the notifications stack and it say "2 unread messages" or something along those lines. Would it be possible to split the notifications to allow for it to list each notification individually?
anyone now if this is possible?

I get individual notifications for email and sms....
I think if you have a single app loading email from multiple sources it will not tell you specifically which account the incoming email has come from, therefore it just counts it as unread mail.
Running stock Android. After I read emails on my desktop, the notification bar on my phone still shows unread Gmails, I cleared the cache last night, only syncing Inbox and and I unchecked the notify once box. Any thought appreciated.
Hey, I just tested there on mine and it didn't do it. Once I read the email on my desktop after approx 1 min it cleared the notification on my Nexus. That's a strange one.
Are your settings the same? Are you running stock android?
No actually I am not! But I do recall when I fisrt had my Nexus and it was the same. I am obsessive about things like that so I remember checking it and it was the very same. It is a pity you can't change the rate at which gmail syncs.
Figured it out
I had an old email marked as unread. Once I marked that as read, the notification bar acts as expected - reading emails on my desktop clears the notification bar.
To confirm, I marked an old email as unread and read a new incoming email on my desktop. The notification bar still shows unread emails. Clearing the old unread email on the desktop clears the notification bar.
Is there anyway to get back the old way the badge worked? Before Oreo it would just tell me how many emails in my inbox now seems like when I get new in inbox emails, i think it calculates emails assigned to labels as well. It used to not. I have all the miscellaneous notifications off as well.
