I checked around and unless I missed something in the ICS discussion topic, I haven't seen anyone report this issue.
I am running stock ICS, un-rooted and am also using Go Launcher and Go Locker (relevance explained shortly).
Before updating to ICS today, the only time the default factory unlock screen would appear would be after a reboot. Once booted, Go Locker would unlock the phone.
After the ICS update, the factory default lockscreen appears anytime I try to launch an application from the Notification screen (click on text message, USB storage, etc.) even though I've already "unlocked" the phone using Go Locker.
The only way I've found to disable this "forced lockscreen" is to either turn off Go Locker and use the default lockscreen OR to use Go Locker and select the default lock screen to None or Swipe.
Is there a solution for this that doesn't require root?
I kinda liked having the pattern lockscreen on reboot and would prefer to keep it, but not at the expense of having to unlock every time I get a notification.
Thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been reported before
[EDIT]
- Problem occurs when using a security setting above Swipe (face unlock, pin, pattern, etc.)
- When clicking on a notification and using the Face unlock setting, phone freezes and does not show camera (power cycle will clear it)
- Go Locker tries to unlock after factory lockscreen after power cycle
Since this was working fine before the ICS update, my uneducated conclusion is that Go Locker needs an update to accommodate changes made in ICS.

Hey fellas, to lock my phone I use the pattern lock, but since yesterday every time I lock the phone with power button or sleeps itself after 2 minutes, it doesn't show me the 'draw pattern screen', just the regular 'slide to unlock'.
So, I go and set the pattern up again, and lock it, it shows the 'draw pattern screen' and only shows once, after I lock the phone again, it won't appear anymore.
I'm using CM6.1.1, obviously rooted phone.
Any help or suggestions? Moderators feel free to move this post to cyanogen's thread if needed. Don't know if this might be a problem of CM itself.
Did you enable any of the quick unlock settings in Cyanogenmod settings? I bet my breakfast (which I already ate, sorry) that its because you need to review those CM settings. In User Input or something or other.
Uncheck all of those settings (that enable quick unlock)
(besides those pattern locks are easily hacked -- with the right light and the right amount of grease from your finger anyone can see your "path to unlock" - Im just sayin!)
Sorry man, that quick unlock feature is definetly not checked, it's under "settings/cyanogenmod settings/input settings", quick unlock not checked.
U owe me a pancake lol.
I dont remember getting creative with locking and unlocking settings, the weirdest thing I did was to install a few themes to the phone. Imma try putting everything to default, and start from there.
I've experienced some unlock and lock issues with cm6 aswell. It seemed as if there are settings that conflict with eachother. What happened to me was I changed it to rotory unlock with lock set to immediately engage on screen off. After changing that it wouldn't lock but the screen would turn off. I had to set it to 1 second and then reboot then it would lock just fine.

What surprises me is that it stopped working for some reason, because I've been using cm6.1.1 for a couple of weeks and worked perfectly..

don't remember where the setting is but it sounds like the time-out setting is not proper, the phone does not lock right away if it is sitting on the table and goes to sleep on it's own but you can set it to do that, i had mine set to 30 seconds so that if the screen turned off while i was waiting for something to download or happen i didn't have to unlock with my pin each time. look through the settings (probably security or cm settings) for the proper tweak, i would give better instructions but i'm currently on miui ROM

Yeah, these settings are found under CM Settings->User Interface (down at the bottom). I don't think these will be the cause though, since the OP said he didn't really mess with any of the settings. Also, I don't think the settings would cause the "Slide to Unlock" screen to appear (the phone would simply turn the screen back on to whatever was last on, no pattern unlock, no lock screen).
Have you installed any new widgets or lockscreen apps recently? Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the other lock types just to see if they do the same thing (like PIN or password).
Hey guys, I got a quick question.
Is it possible (with stock, or third party lockscreen app) to be able to use BOTH the lockscreen AND a pattern unlock?
For example, upon hitting the power button, im prompted with the usual options (unlock phone, mute audio, etc), but after I select an option that would go into Android (unlock the phone, or unlock into camera, sms, etc), I am then prompted to put in my pattern unlock.
I used to have an X10 and I remember when SE first came out with 2.1 it was possible (essentially its a double lock), but they later removed it because some people didnt like to have to unlock the phone twice.
I want to know if there is any third party lockscreens that supports this or if the stock one can do it.
I ask because I want to set up quick unlocks for the camera or other apps, but still be prompted for a password for security purposes.
ATM if you enable pattern lock, it disables the standard slide to unlock screen, and the only way to get the slide to unlock is if you have NO security at all.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I SEEM TO HAVE FOUND MY OWN SOLUTION. I JUST TESTED THE NEWEST VERSION OF WIDGET LOCKER, AND I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT DOES ALLOW A PATTERN UNLOCK AFTER DISPLAYING THE LOCKSCREEN!
It never worked correctly for me before with the previous version on my X10. Hope this helps anyone else.
I hope they can something similar which will unblock when a desired amount of fingers placed on the SGS2 screen
Hey guys, recently (today 1/28) i noticed my galaxy note 2 automatically bypasses the lock screen whenever the screen wakes up (so no ripple effects, and i have no lock or pin or pattern set, so just a swipe would work). So I tried setting up a pattern lock, and similar thing happens. The phone would wake up, go to home screen for a split second, then returns back to the lock screen with the pattern lock.
I was wondering, does anyone know whats wrong with this?
Extra information: I used to have GO launcher on it with their custom lock screen. However, I uninstalled everything already, so that shouldn't be a problem.

it's Go Locker... it's not the best lock screen replacement... you should turn off the go locker lock screen and turn on the stock one. Clear defaults on Go Locker and set it to just Go Launcher and enable the original lockscreen after disabling Go Locker

but I have already cleared w/e data that Go Locker has and then uninstalled it. So i doubt that Go locker is causing my lock screen bypassing problem, unless it was some sort of glitch from when i had it (i used it for 2 days)

I tried rebooting, removing battery, rebooting without SD card. So far nothing works. Odd thing is that, during the early part of reboot when the widgets are not fully loaded yet, this problem don't exist. But when the widgets are fully loaded, this problem returns
I am using stock and for like less than a half of a second that happens. Nothing u can really do with it.

Problem is completely solved now. Apparently, it is the result of a bug/glitch in a chinese music streaming app that I got from Google play. Also, thanks to everyone that replied to this.

I had the same problem, I had the "Lock instantly with power key" unchecked, however the phone still locks it right after I push the power key no matter how long I set the lock time. Then I found out that whenever I have the Kugou Music running, it does that. So as long as you quit the program when not listening music, you are fine.
And there's actually one setting on Kugou Music that override the lock screen.
I have been trying to get Widget Locker working on my One but have hit an issue. I am thinking I may not be able to fix this without Root but I wanted to run it by the community to verify.
I have my phone linked to an Exchange server that forces a 4 digit pass-code onto the device. So from the default lock screen I swipe up and then get the keypad to unlock the device.
Widget Locker replaces the main screen and 60% of the time when I unlock the device it takes me to the keypad directly.
The other 40% of the time is the issue. When I unlock from Widget Locker it takes me to the default screen where I would swipe up. From this point I can ether swipe up and unlock or shut off the screen. When I try again it usually works perfectly.
Is there any way to get consistent behavior from Widget Locker without root? What I would expect would be to unlock and be taken to the keypad 100% of the time.
I would love to use widget locker, but I always get a 3-7 second delay with turning on my phone. Sorry I can't help you.

Go into Settings and set the HTC lockscreen to none. It forces the phone to only use WL, and you never see the stock lockscreen. Works for me,

That kills the security on the phone. We need to have ether a pin or password unlock to secure the device. Even without it I would want a pattern unlock at the least to keep it somewhat safe.
I expanded my search a bit and this seems to be a common problem on phones that have any sort of lockscreen security. What I cant understand is why it does work some times, but not others. It does not appear to be a timing issue but I cannot narrow down what else would randomly (apparently random) trigger the stock lock screen yet work other times.

No, it doesn't. The HTC lockscreen and the Security lockscreen are two different things. You can have the HTC lockscreen set to none, and still have the option to unlock with any of the various lock methods(i.e. PIN, Pattern, Face Unlock, etc...) I know this is true because I use it everyday. I use WL, have my HTC lockscreen set to none, and still have to enter a PIN to unlock my phone. And have no delay when using WL once the phone is booted.

And I am an idiot. You are completely correct. I am trying it now, thank you.
Edit: Working like a charm. If anybody else is having this issue the setting is under Personalize, lock screen style.
Thanks again!
Before installing the new Kit Kat upgrade, I had no password and was able to press the top power button to awaken or sleep the home screen without also having to swipe the little "lock" icon upward. With the new updated software, I now have to swipe the little lock every single time. So now I have two steps to complete before accessing my phone. Does anyone know how to remove it?
The first two options in the settings / security menu.
No Lock app
No Lock has been working for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock&hl=en
I'm rooted but running stock rom.

I have no screen lock at all on those settings and I still have to swipe to get to my home screen. This was removable in the previous update.
Huh? Set the first option to what kind of lockscreen you want pin pattern etc. Then put a check on the second option. This should bring up the security screen when the phone first wakes, then once you enter your pin pattern etc it should go straight to your home screen.

I do not want to have to swipe the "lock" icon. I never needed to before and now with KitKat I do. I'm wondering whether there is a way to remove that little feature.
These are my current settings.
I have no pin or lock, yet I still have to swipe the little lock up before accessing my home screen. Is there a way to go straight to my home screen without having to swipe the lock icon up?
That is very strange. I have the same settings for mine, screen lock none and the bypass lockscreen on wake box checked. When my phone is off and i hit the power button it goes straight to my home screen, no lock swipe involved.
Are you rooted?

Ditto. There must be something messed up with his rom or some app interfering with the settings.
There is also a setting for skipping the lock screen in the Sense 5 Toolbox so you could try that too if you're rooted and have Xposed.
No i think the reason it does this for me is because i have sense 5 toolbox and never realized it was an always on option. If your rooted, and dont want xposed or sense 5 toolbox, i made a flashable zip that will remove the lock screen.

Well then either root, or as stated in an earlier post try no lock from the market. Its free and does not require root.
