Xperia s in india

Is xperia s going to be available in india?
Because on the sony mobile website xperia p and xperia u are displayed as coming soon
And there is no xperia s!!
Please someone let me know
I am planning to buy this phone!

Same here but I feel Sony Xperia ION will reach first, than Sony Xperia S.

How come? Ion is a US exclusive and it isn't released yet

i do believe we will get xperia S soon(before march 2nd or 3rd week)............when on sony website in the home page it states xperia S to be coming soon and in product page xperia S is missing............this might be some webpage related issue
update:i spoke to sony mobile india,they said it will be available soon and before the end of Q1.... probably by the end of march 2nd week and they also mentioned xperia s product page for india will also be added soon and it will be available under phones section

that's a great news. Any idea if we'll be getting the smart headset with the phone for free?? or atleast a release date for the headset? I really want to have those headphones.

and also there is no contract system here in india then also delay!!

I'm from pune and i spoke to the official from SONY in pune and he said it will be a bit delay to arrive in INDIA . He said will be coming in APRIL 1st week. As like you i'm very eager to buy this phone hope it comes early and we have this masterpiece right in our hands........

can anone confirm the above news from my friend??

i dont have any sony store in my locality otherwise i would have done that!!

@sagar_ved The price of this awesome piece in india is approx. Rs.31000 not yet confirmed maybe less also.
Also to mention when i spoke to the SONY representative, he told me that they are trying to make sure we get all the accessories especially the HDMI cable which is missing in most of the unboxing videos. As like all i'm also concerned about the battery he assured that SONY is coming up with some new apps that will boost battery life i think its just a marketing skill maybe. So keep ur fingers crossed
Right now i'm just watching the videos of Xperia S on youtube the greek review on youtube is great if have time then watch it how the xperia s is blazing fast....CHEERS

Guys i talked to asony executive and shesaid it would be out by end of march!!
She said q1 is the date given to them!!
When i asked about the pricing she said no pricing has been revealed yet!!
Guys i think the phone would come by mid april asin india we have to fill all it returns
N also the distributors have to change thiernames from sonyericsson to sony!!
This is making me so sad!!

There is one listing in Ebay but it's too costly since they are exporting from US. It's about 39K http://www.ebay.in/itm/Sony-XPERIA-...27386?pt=IN_Mobile_Phones&hash=item1c246d4dba. If they delays to launch I might change my mind and go for One X since it's world wide release on April 5th prices would somewhat the same.

I think that the One X is going to be more expensive, maybe One S will be more in the range or a little lower than Xperia S.

Its 15th of this month!!
There is a sony ericsson sales store near my place and the owner of it is a very good friend of mine!
And today he told me its going to come on15th march and pricing is 32000rs
But he said that its gonna come by the name nozomi
I was a bit shocked hearing this!!
Anyways guys we have a reason to celebrate for!!

[Q] New phone to buy?

So I've got the chance to sell my Play and to buy a new phone, is it worth?
I can only buy phones up to 300€, I'm thinking about an Arc S but then going from outdated to outdated isn't that good plus I can't use touchscreen gaming controls... There's also Nexus S has an option but I think the Arc S camera and design is the most appealing thing for me. What do you think?

That's the one I'd like most but it costs way more and I'm really on low budget

Yeah I'll never sell my play, I ordered a Akai turntable from there, arrived home 2 days after!

If the Xplay hadn't existed, or I had enough moneyto have two phones, I'd buy a Galaxy Nexus, especially because it's the lastest official phone from Google and it's the first one to get Jelly Bean, the best mobile os ever.
If you are really poor, just consider buying a Huawei one, I've heard they are cheap.

I'm not "really poor" and I'm happy with XPlay but I wanted a phone with more updated software and specs and since I bought Play this year it's hard for me to buy another phone.

One thing I learned about Sony. Do not buy any product oversea. You can't claim any repair warranty product in the US at all. Learn it from buying Xperia S and problem with yellow tin screen.

Ok thanks but i can never buy anything from online because im 18 under... so im buying at local stores , will i still get warranty? .. i just hope xperia gx releases internationally and not just stuck with japan ..!

Nop brother, even after a long time of its release, accessories such as back cover, matte screen guard isnt available everywhere. But if u search sensibly u can find them in places like nehru place
If u still cant find, its better to go online, u will find a lot of accessories online.

The phone is totally worth its price, and at 25k, its a steal.
the reason behind the phone not selling well is Sony's (awkward) policy, the company decided not to promote it much, because they feared it cud eat into sales of their flagship xperia Z.
Although in my opinion, if u really want waterproofing, buy xperia Z, otherwise go with xperia ZL.
U will never regret buying it. I love my phone.

bcoz n5 is availabe for 29k in india for difference of 4 thousand i m getting one of the best processor still is it worth? compared to n5

It totally depnds on your personal taste now. If u want stock android, want fastest updates, and all that processing power, go for nexus 5. But if u want a better camera, a bit different and a classy ui(IMO), expandable memory, and the most compact full HD 5incher, go for xperia ZL. Either way, u wont regret ur decision.

What should I do?

Send it to the next repair center, you'll get a new one. I did the same a few weeks ago.

I'm from Germany and I got a new replacement. Since the display had a little scratch and the battery was one year old I'm quite satisfied.

I'm not sure if they are really new or refurbished phones the give.
I also have the problem, together with the 'black dots on the camera sensor' and 'dead battery'.
I'm from Belgium but I bought the phone in Germany. Yesterday the phone left the shop towards the repair center, I'm curious what they will do. I never had a phone with so much hardware problems. And I'm even not talking about the skin on the cover that was peeling of after not even 3 weeks. For that I never found an agreement with the Phone House nor Sony. They always keep saying it's was my fault. They pretend I was using a detergent on the cover... something that's not true and was never proved by either of them. I was suffering from extreme heating when the phone was idle, a problem that was resolved with installing a new firmware when I got back my phone after 3 months of contesting.
I will be very satisfied with either a new or refurbished phone
