Test my bootanimation - Gen9, Gen10 General

Hi, I've cooked a bootanimation for our Archos G9 made actually from several bootanimations existing
-One 30 frames picture of Archos logo - with Google and Android with the model of the tablet.
-The XDA Developers bootanimation (credits to XDA, HJ200)
-The bootanimation from the "Introducing Galaxy Nexus" (Thanks @Surdu_petru)
-The Helix blue bootanimation sligtly modified. The final loop is the Helix blue loop. (credits to optmsprim2 and Hymizzle)
Everything is resized of course and specific to each of the G9 tablets. The bootanimation takes quite a long time (more than 45secs +loop on my tablet) but it is intended because my tablet (and maybe others) has so many apps it takes 3 minutes to boot. For personnal satisfaction, could you test the 101G9 version to see if it runs properly (I don't own this tablet)? Anyway, whatever your tablet, if your tablet takes a short time to boot could you test it too to see how it runs on short time of boot ones.
Thanks in advance.
101G9 version : https://www.dropbox.com/s/6gis87c772hdpi9/DaS4ilor0.4.10.zip
80G9 version : https://www.dropbox.com/s/0d8ygfkcbm4tg0a/DaS4ilor0.4.8.zip
(Rename to bootanimation.zip, place in /data/local and backup any previous custom bootanimation ; to delete, delete /data/local/bootanimation.zip)

only if the tablet is rooted ?
and how transfert on the device ?

yes just transfer from a computer to the tablet the file.
Then, using a root file explorer, go to /data/local, move bootanimation.zip wherever you want (it's a backup), go back where your DaS4ilor0.4.XX is on your tablet and rename it to bootanimation.zip. Then copy it to /data/local.
EDIT :
Any feedback?

How to extract original boot animation?
I would like to have the original, only a little changed.

Just unzip it? I don't get your problem.
If there's anything, I can help.

I mean the original Archos boot animation. Where is it in the Android 4.0.3 ICS?
I have a rooted firmware, but I can not find where the boot animation is.
EDIT:
Exactly what I mean:
obrazki.elektroda.pl/4231010500_1339506270.jpg (open in web browser)
I want to extract it from ICS a little modify and replace.

@[email protected]
from init.rc file
Code:
service bootanim /system/bin/bootanimation
class main
user graphics
group graphics
disabled
oneshot

The stock boot animation is loaded from framework-res/assets
You can't extract the files and use them like you would a normal boot animation

ok, thanks.

You could try filming and then exporting frames to make a bootanimation. Won't be the same quality though.

Could anyone maybe get the framework.apk and framework-res.apk from G9 for me so I could decompile it? I would like them for other reasons too, but depending on the form in which the bootanimation is stored there, it would be much easier than filming.
(you can get them out via adb - adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk C:\xx ; unless it's stored somewhere else on the G9, but don't think so)

here. i rar'ed it because its 8.05 mb and the xda limit is 8, and im too lazy to upp it somewhere else

Well, like Quinny899 said, the stock bootanimation is another piece of cake. There is only onew image on top of which that shining thing is applied from another image (it uses png transparency). So, making entertainment your tablet or anything of that image will probably work, but you can't change much other things...
Btw, it's located in /system/framework/framework-res.apk/assets/images/Archos_logo_mask_512.png
P.S. Though my next question may sound a little bit strange, any volunteers wanting to translate Archos Remote Control app in your native language? Or any requests for some minor new features?

How to theme android?

Since we cant ROOT our Rhodiums and use metamorph, is there anyway we can theme android? Such as change the tasbar and icons and such?
i want this too
---
from looking at what Haret does, it seems that it just cleans the memory except for an instruction to load linux, then it boots linux configured to launch android afterwards. As far as I remember, android supports both yaffs and squashfs, so the system is loaded from a squashfs file from your sdcard. Theming any part of the system would mean either unsquashing the whole system, then applying the theme, then re-squashing. If we squashfs'd the individual directories (/bin /etc /app /framework /media ...) and specify those individual mount points, then we should be able to just unsquash /framework and /app, theme them, and then re-squash them to keep the "theme" upload to a minimum.
I'm still researching exactly on how all works (I'm new to winmo (and still hate it) and I just got my device two days ago and already thinking of returning it and waiting for nexus enterprise instead), but my goal is eventually to create and support an android rom for the rhodium, if I don't tire of winmo first and sell the device...

PowerOnOff Animation

Lets start again with these Pictures *.img
Header
compress LZ
Okidoki... seems compressed.
Now I found in bada SDK files.
Original BMP files from little bada...
Check out:
PowerOnOff.ini
AnimationType=bmp
Then also PowerOnFlash=power_on.swf
Maybe we find working solution.
Theory:
1.
Find way to decompress or compress to make valid *.img.
2.
Change *.img into something else accepted from handset...
*.bmp
*.swf
Maybe QMG is possible, like in Themes?
*** who knows...
3.
Do nothing... wait...
Best Regards
I think it's more power_on.swf than img files.
If possible if I find someone who works on flash, will try second possibility.
Sorry,能用中文解释下吗?thanks
What we know about *.img
Resolution is 480 x 800 Pixel (S8500/S8530).
"Level 1"
Find *.img with 1 Color...
I found black.
Then I replaced all files by same black Image...
"Level 2"
I need second Color... I think I know where to find... I think it will be white...
Best Regards
So I have now 2 Colors. Black and white, both are 480 x 800 Pixel.
If you compare both files you see around 391 Differences... hmm most Value:
F8/F0
Please. I wish to find more 1 Color *.img files.
Maybe then users with more brain can find algo, or Tool exists to create these Pictures...
Best Regards
I think I know what it could be... maybe.
TIFF compressed Bitmap *.tif ... LZW Compression.
Maybe some Header changes...
Edit...
Several Compressions for TIFF exists... depend on Grafik Tool...
PowerOnOff.ini is 3 times in Wave... if different depend on Branding:
\Registry\
\Settings\Default\Registry
\SystemFS\Settings\PreConfiguration\Default\Registry
All 3 files are not writeprotected. You could:
(A) Delete PowerOnOff.ini
Silence + no Animation
(B) Edit PowerOnOff.ini with other path to folder... maybe:
PowerOnAniImage0=/Mount/Mmc/PowerOnOff/Image/poweron_00.img
instead writeprotected folder
PowerOnAniImage0=/SystemFS/PowerOnOff/Image/poweron_00.img
Best Regards
Edited again.
Tested, yes it works.
I've changed path to Memory Card. Now I can play faster...
Very simple.
1.
Copy PowerOnOff folder to card.
Attention, if you choose subfolder, my path is only for Root... check exact folder or edit PowerOnOff.ini again.
2.
Copy my example to folder:
\Registry\
Nice how do you extract the bmp files?
Edit: look this video you will love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er9fhJWNL70
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y65D7LR1
Here are 3 different Animations:
DREI
T-Mobile
PRT Poland
In combination with my modified PowerOnOff.ini you can easily switch between them.
@ lasentenza

BMP files taken from Language packs from bada SDK...
*.img but in this time Images and ready for open with WinImage...
Best Regards
... ... Friends IMG to edit the files and use them in the device I found this program that uses the QT ... thank by psycoy
http://www.4shared.com/file/weq4iPSk/Alcis_IMg_editor.html
@ psycoy
Please, can you upload 1 selfmade *.img as example?
I'm not smart enough to use your Tool.
*.img not open
And if I import an *.bmp and save... the result is not the same like valid *.img.
Please enlight my little brain.
Thanx in advance.
Best Regards
I've reduced PowerOnOff.ini to only poweron_00.img and poweroff_00.img.
So I can faster Brute force...
And I see better result...
Attention!
Once I made an mistake in PowerOnOff.ini and result was Bootcycle.
So please only try at your own risk.
Best Regards
Thanks a lot adfree, you find 3 animation boot
Just try it changes from bada animation
You are making great job
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T5YF5620
I've "fixed" T-Mobile Animation, as they "forgot" 4 Pics from bada Animation...
Maybe this was the reason, why second folder only used.
I've added Orange Poland Animation...
So I have 5 Animations (second T-Mobile not included).
Maybe someone know more Animations?
Eplus?
O2?
There are many Operator... i hope.
S8530 also possible, as same Resolution.
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Found more Animation(s)
Found third Color... Now I have black, white and red.
But red is complete different and double in size... strange...
New attempt.
Created 480x800 black and white Pic and converted into QMG (Theme).
As I thought Idle_Background.qmg converted into IdleWallpaper.cbm could help.
But, QMG is to small... only 1 KB
CBM is tooo big... 1,5 MB
My black or white *.img only 51 KB...
Best Regards
adfree this is cool. I've been wanting to get to the bottom of the .IMG file mystery for awhile now.
The Alci's IMG Editor program is a mod tool for the GTA San Andreas game. I tried opening a .IMG file and it didn't work for me either. It's possible theres no connection with the QMG .IMG files at all. I'm not sure what the QT reference is in relation to.
Found 2 new Animations from American Firmware:
Entel and ViVo
Found 4. color... blue
OemBmPreShutdown: Inform the power off to CP side
Click to collapse
Hmmmm... maybe Algo is in amss.bin.
CP could mean Call Processor...
Maybe this is Qualcomm Compression...
Best Regards

[Q] About Arc Camera

hello to all
i am a camera loving person, love to capture pictures.......
from last few months i am try to modify the Arc stock camera..
i totaly decompile the Semc camera apk file and read all the files very carefully in it
then i found if we change some thing in the apk file it will not take affect, and i found why it is
if we open root explorer and go to
System / usr / semc then here we found a folder named camera
inside the camera folder there are some files that have DAT extention
these dat files are the actual camera files all the settings are inside them
like if we want to change the compression level of picture then it will be done by modify these dat files
i try very hard to open that dat files but cant find the way to open it
can some one help me by telling me that how we can modify these dat extention file
i also attached that folder in this post
that have these files
I do believe that work on SE cameras files is very hard. Recently SE has promised that they will release their driver for developer under EULA license, so you best wait a little.
Here's the source: http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/wp/2011/09/28/sony-ericsson-supports-independent-developers/
until there is a fix for the high compression of for the se camera app, i suggest you give the app 'vignette' a try. You have the choice to save at super fine quality. Images are usually 5mb or more. Runs well on the Arc S. The only issue is the preview speed and the ui. needs fixing

How to Edit Remove "Swipe to unlock"

I want to share how to. (My ROM Backhybrid 2)
I found a simple way, thanks to Pako 777 and his utilty PUMa v2.2
Your phone must be rooted and deodexed
Downloud the utility
Open PUMa
Make a copy of your framework-res.apk copy in Folder IN
Even if android 2.3.6 officially not supported
Select device 9100, android 4.0, system; check "Change of lookscreen unlock guide text"
press apply, edit or left blank when finish copy the framework-res.apk from folder OUT to your system/framework
finally reboot
Not really needed?
Settings/location and security/set screen lock... choose 'none'
works for me
thanks for sharing, it's worked
Many Thanks ..

sorry if i ask this silly question, "what the function of this modding "
is it purpose to remove the default lockscreen swipe pattern, or is it removing the lockscreen function of some third party lockscreen application (go locker or magiclocker for example)??
btw, thanks for sharing dude...
Hi
It's just to edit or remove text in lookscreen, cause the translation in italian of "Swipe to unlook" is "Trascina il dito sullo schermo per sbloccare" and I don't like it.
If you want to disable lookscreen search for awakewidget there's a free version, works fine.
Bye

Problem locating the down animation

Hello,
I just bought an HTC One V and there's a really annoying down animation with the service provider logo I would like to change and I can't locate it. The two htc_downanimation.zip and hTC_bootup_one.zip files are in the customize folder, but these are both the ones with HTC logo, not the one I'm looking for.
I'm not too 'techy' so you've got to talk really slowly , but as a token of my goodwill I made a short animation and you're all welcome to grab it.
it's 480x800, 30fps
I can't post links as a newbie so you need to copy and paste (maybe someone with more posts could repost those links in some more user-friendly way):
bit 'dot' ly 'slash' QBie95
and for the gif preview
bit 'dot' ly 'slash' RlgSOX
edit:
I just want to add one thing. I read in one article that those boot and down animations are either in /data/local or /system/media. It was written over a year ago, so maybe that was for a different Android version, but my /data folder is empty. Not sure what to make of it. I also did a search for any zip files, or file with the name of my service provider and did not find the file.
