[ROM][AROMA]EyeCandy-Kindle Edition- v3.6--BETA!! - Kindle Fire Android Development

Hey everyone I sure that you may have by now seen the theme I have been working on for several different tablets, but now I am incorporating it into my own rom with the new Aroma Installer to give you custom options during the install process. This rom is based on twa-priv's cm10/sgt7 rom.

Bugs:
SystemUI will force close in tablet mode if you try to access the extended notifications, hope to have this worked out by next release.

sweet. geez, literally 5 min ago I was fiddling around w/ GlazedICS and gearing up to d/l some of the add-ons for it, and you go and drop this
will check it out shortly... thanks
[Edit: after the d/l link is posted, that is lol]

I love you're theme, I am using it with Glaze Rom, wish you would add a battery circle Mod to it. Thanks.
Edit: I am using the one your posted of SGt7 Rom dated 6-8

Just flashed twa priv's ROM yesterday and it's a pleasing and solid version of CM9... your theme made it that much better (love the inverted Gmail) so I am definitely interested in giving your personal ROM a run also.

Well I can now see why there are yet any roms using Aroma, the touch screen is a real pain in the rear with this device. Aroma calibrate tool numbers do not work with the touch screen.
Sorry guys jump the gun, I can get the bottoms buttons to partitaly work, but rest of screen in unresponsive.
The data that aroma is giving back is not really making sense. Should not need to be that large of numbers.

would using the newer kernel help at all? hash made a note of some touchscreen optimizations to improve sensitivity and responsiveness

those were the issues I was having. I could never get the touch to work correctly. calibration from aromaFM wouldn't help either, even tho it works perfect with aromaFM.
even the calibration.zip gives numbers that just don't work once implemented.

Unfortunately no, the kernel for recovery is separate from the one that runs with os. Ran many different configurations last night with no success. Was working with hyper runner for a min but had a family emergency pop up. Will be on #aroma on freenode pretty much all day at work. If you have some ideas to throw at me, pop on in and speak your mind. Hopefully get this knocked out today.
Launched from one mean machine hopped up on some AOKP!!

Hey everyone v1.0 is live and can be downloaded. There is no Aroma Installer right now, we are working away on that, hopefully soon. Enjoy!

What's the difference between this ROM and SGT7 or Simple with your Eyecandy theme applied.

I wanted to see what the inverted/themed Gmail looked like, so for starters I pulled the Gmail.apk out of the ROM zip and pushed it to /system/app in my current gedeROM installation (i FC, cleared data, uninstalled the Gmail I had in /data/app there).
It looks nice, but the New Message composition window is too wide to fit on the screen when the device is held in portrait orientation, and cuts off several characters from the left/right edges.
Anyone else seeing this on the EyeCandy ROM itself?

It seems that it is a more thorough way of clearing the cache memory.. Wiping dalvik should also speed up the phone.. Weather it is noticable or not I am not sure.. But I flash my roms like that, and it always boots..
so could Dalvik be cleared anytime? or would you only recommend doing it after flashing rom?

Don't mean to interrupt but just wanted to point out :
Clearing dalvik does not make your system faster, if anything it makes it slower (only at initial startup). The whole point of dalvik is to keep a bytecode of every apk on your phone so it can execute them faster than loading the .dex from the apk everytime.
As for clearing it upon flash, it could possibly be a good idea, although id recommend doing something like
rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*[email protected]*
This will keep your regular apps intact and just re-create the bytecode's for the system apps. Now mostly if a dex is inconsistent, android will automatically create a new one. You can confirm that in the log.
Thanks Daneshm90 for clearing that up for me..
where would you suggest that "rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*[email protected]*" is included ??
I will add thanks to you in the 1st post also as your signature helped me out greatly.

Im not sure if it can be done through edify/ammend syntax.
I know though you could write your own script with the line i mentioned above. Call it say clear_dalvik
Then in your updater-script call
run_program("clear_dalvik");
I`m will try it now
10ks tricky for new rom
give you report
First, thanx for a wonderful background pic of the horsehead nebula.
Second, Sweet with a slim ROM, better to start with Ultra-slim and then add what you want then build in everything, we all want different things in a ROM, you probably want English dictionary, I want English and Swedish, good, then I add Swedish myself, "that other dude over there" may be from Denmark and want Danish, cool, then he adds Danish, "she over there" may be from Japan, cool, she adds Japanese(we all probably want English as well), most of us got totally different preferences.. But I have to say, Ultra slim is good as a start
Will test out this ROM a bit later(tomorrow or so), but posting here so I get notifications of updates.
Yeah, tangerine

I was referring to the WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/Sound/4g toggles we get in the pulldown.
It would be nice if we could change them and add our own, as well as be able to rearrange the whole thing. Something similar to this.. which I realize is Sense based but perhaps it could be ported over? Or maybe it would be easier to port them over from CyanogenMod itself since they are already working on a version for our phone, from what I hear.
oh ok I see, no I won't be doing any mods like that, that would probably take a lot of time and quite honestly I don't know if I could do that, I'm sure someone will release a mod to flash to do it or something, I just don't have the knowledge to do it and I can openly admit it plus I don't want my rom looking like cm

No worries. Maybe an option for screen orientation in the advanced power menu then? In addition to Reboot and Recovery.
It's kinda annoying having to go to display settings every time I want to toggle it on/off (I only use it when browsing websites, webcomics, and such).

Agreed that is on my list of things to get done
Flashed v3.1 yesterday and since then my battery has been on a serious drain. I went to sleep with 97% battery and woke up with 50% (with wifi, bluetooth, gps all turned off). Would reflashing this rom or switching to v3.2 help me out?

Please don't freak out on me but this rom or kernel is causing me to get no signal sometimes. I have to restart to get a signal to return
Had your 3.1 version and i loved it except i couldnt overclock with it. If that could somehow be changed i will run that permently! Love the themeing and thanks for your hard work

Are there any other changes between 3.1 and 3.2 besides the scroll?
Just flashed this before I leave for work and put Zedo's v3 kernel on top of it. Looking forward to putting AEMod through my daily routine to see how it holds up.
Thanks for the effort on this!
Flashed this and running the kernel that's packaged with it? I'll report back later today. Thank you for the rom.
Samsung Galaxy S II
Factory Reset?
Flashed your ROM just fine, everything looks fine, but I have a habit of resetting factory defaults after flashing a new ROM (WM6 woes) to make sure the rom and settings are as fresh as possible.
I noticed when I go into settings to do a factory restore, it would restore the original Sprint boot screen and then just hang there. Was wondering if this is normal for all Android roms or this one in particular?
Would it be possible to get a list of known bugs or things not working in the OP? This is pretty standard across most roms. Or.... is the rom already bug free?

I don't know what would be causing 3.1 to drain battery any faster than any other version as nothing has been changed to cause any issues like that, you might be experiencing android os bug that I guess is out that uses a crap load of battery for no reason, you could try a full system wipe then reflashing, I was noticing android os using a crap load of my battery so I just wiped everything and reflashed.

Hi guys, today I want to show you my first ROM for my Galaxy S.
Actually it was made only for the forum in which I collaborate (www.uebarena.com/android-arena), however I decided to let it make an appearance on XDA too.
First of all, Credits:
-the whole cm7 team for the awesome AOSP rom
-zacharias.maladroit, for the awesome kernel
-the xda comunity, with its guides and tutorials which helped me out a lot
-my dear friend Memnoch (have a look at his rom on the DHD forums) who supported me in this process
-my beta testers which trusted me and tested all my builds.
Secondly, Features
(See Changelog in 2nd post)
SCREENSHOTS (launcher pro plus not included in the rom)
VIDEO by umberto1978
(quality is not the best, but he promised to make another one with a better camera, since he is recording with a galaxy mini as you can see )
Pre-installation:
-backup all your app &data before flashing (with titanium, mybackup ecc...)
-I suggest doing a factory reset, so that you come from a fully clean install.
-if you are already on a CM7, do a format of /system and wipe dalvik & wipe cache.
-if you are on a stock rom, first you need a CWM.
Installation

CHANGELOG:
Announcement:
this project has changed his main purpose.
due to the temporary instability of ICS portings, and since buildbot (RIP) stopped building nightlies a long time ago,
I'll manage to keep cm7 alive, updated and optimized at best with my rom,

-JVU modem
-Thunderbolt removed (caused instability on the long term)
-no ICS anims (problem with framework, will be implemented in next releases)
v1.2
-updated kang base (it has all the cm7 updates until the 7th of december, give a look at the official cm7 changelog)
-changed bootanimation
-thunderbolt 2.2.0 scripts included (credits to pikachu01, original thread here)
-double release: one has the platypus kernel, the other one stays with the stock cm7 kernel

Definitely worth to flash.
Will you update regularly to the new nightlies?

my beta tester and myself didn't had any of these bugs, so they should not appear too

Hi thanks,
yeah of course.
A v1.1 will come up in the next days with the neo18 kernel (definitely awesome)
and with a new cm7 nightly base, as long as they add more fixes or interesting things

Mate, i'll flash it now before going out ! I'm sure that this ROM is awesome and has some tweaks . Here we go .
Thanks for sharing Alex and keep up the good work(and please don't tell us that you bought an SGS2 and you'll not develop for SGS1 ).

Nice rom, keep up the good work !
Why not including the ICS lockscreen directly in the ROM ? This is not possible?

Hahaha thanks mate
And no, I won't buy a SGS2, as my sgs is perfect and fully functional
SGS1 FTW!
Feedback: The ROM is fast, good bootanimation, there is a small difference between default and zacharia's kernel, but i prefer the second one ! And that would be great if you include by default ICS theme and lockscreen .
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . (Topic marked as favourite )

that's mainly because not everybody likes it like I or we do...
I've received mixed opinions about this,
so I thought it would be better to let the end-user choose to apply the theme and the lockscreen, or to stick with a different theme/lockscreen.
oh and thanks for the feedback

woah, that's a shame. rapidshare sucks big time..
Guess it's time to change hosting.
for the next update, I'll use multiupload or mediafire for sure.
Other thing Alex, i can't choose what to sync in my google account. In cyano "stock" i always untick Picasa sync, with your ROM, this feature doesn't exists

weird, since I didn't modify that in any possible way.. it should be there.
also, I don't use Picasa so I never knew of this option...
Will definetely try it!
Thanks for your work!

[ROM][AOSP][2.3.7]HabaDecked (30/1)

Hi! This is my modified version of Goku's Decked port It is the same rom so it should have same speed and battery and such. But when I flashed Decked I also had to do lots adb pushes as it was many things I wanted to change, so I decided to add them all to one package and share it

Stuff I changed:
- Changed LCD density to 140, makes stuff looks smaller
- Included g-apps (enough to sign in and use market at least )
- Added support for transparent statusbars
- Centered statusbar clock and date (no overlap with transparent statusbar )
- Disabled scrollingcache, improves scrolling in some apps like Facebook. See here for more info
- Added Launcher 360, my current favorite launcher
- Removed default launcher
- Removed music (it includes MiUi music)
- Removed gallery, I prefer Gallery3D
- Included ZDuneX25's MiUi theme (non-transparent)
- Removed market updater, stays with the curvy green one
Download (SIGNED), Tenpins mirror!
Download (SIGNED
Install instructions:
- Place zip on your SD-card
- Boot to recovery
- Wipe, you can try only cache and dalvik, but wipe data if you have problems
- Flash zip
- Reboot
Extras:
To install apps that says they are incompatible, install this app and wipe market data. Afterwards you can use the same app to change back
360 launcher includes an awesome lockscreen with many themes. If you want to use it enable it in 360 launcher preferences. Also go to settings --> advanced settings --> tablet tweaks and disable lockscreen. Then you will have no double lock.
Also note that 360 Launcher doesn't support transparent statusbar (for now) so if you have it, it will just be plain black in your launcher. You can fix this by using a live wallpaper or use another launcher like Launcher7, ADW and Zeam (Go launcher and LauncherPro doesn't support it either).
If there is some sort of overlay over your notification bar, reboot and it will disappear.
I recommend ExDialer from market
Options:
At the bottom there is an HTC_IME mod which is made for this lcd density. It's not included because it force closes if it is in system/app. Do not push it to system app, install it normally or via adb. Then check it in language and keyboard settings and longpress in a text field and press input method to select it.
Changelog
5/4: Added ICS patch (statusbar layout, uncentered clock)
4/3: Changed the no_percentage_black thingy to the new release, just with old battery
19/2: Added options for no percentage in statusbar and MiUi lockscreens (modifies the CM7 one). See here
31/1: Added signed version for Amon_RA and added a new modded market (fixes app incompatible apps). Also added old market as an option
30/1: Initial release
Thanks to:
- Bharat_goku for the rom
- TheGrammarFreak for help on centering the clock
- AndroidON fordisabling scrollingcache
-ZduneX25 for his Miui theme
- Yken and melvinchng for 360 launcher
- Any1 else who feel they should be thanked
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE. YOU FLASH THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK.................................................. should work fine, though.
it seems like everything is going, right?
worth a try..
Yeah, it works for me at least What works in Decked should work here
oh you guys!!! just when I think ive decided on a daily rom something else amazing comes out. but its all good though, where would the fun be if all us 'flashies' (fash junkies is so overused lol) didn't have new roms released constantly to keep us busy
looks good judging by the screenshots, and as its pretty much bhrats decked with a few tweaks here and there and a bit of theming I don't see why it wouldn't work just as good as decked. will definitely be trying this one out

Couldn't have possibly said that any better myself!
Habarug, mate what a theme! I almost thought for a second I was on the wrong forum section, looks far too good for the hero!! What a way to take a brilliant rom a step further.. I don't blame you for theming bharats decked, it honestly is the benchmark for roms on our little hero. I will be flashing this beauty soon, thanks, thanks and thanks again!
i so wanna try this! but testing some other roms probably try it in college wen m bored!
Hey Habarug here's a mirror which I just uploaded: http://www.mediafire.com/?mcfr3wrmwzfkn0v, add it to your list.
If it does go down by any chance pm me and i'll have it up asap.
Cheers.
Added a signed version that works for Amon_RA users
And, lol, if you like the theme you should thank ZDuneX25, and the creators of 360 Launcher, because I haven't really done that much
I tried to include the LeWa apps in here, but it just FCed a lot. I will look into it later, but right now I have to prepair to my math test tomorrow
Looks awesome. I'll download this evening.
Good luck with the exam!
EDIT: I've had a go and it seems nice. I have the same issue I had with VanillaEclair where some apps aren't showing in the market. I'm not really sure why this happens. Until I get this sorted this is a no go for me
EDIT2: Ok apparently the disappearing apps is something to do with the DPI change. I'll keep trying to fix the issue
EDIT3: Changing the DPI caused a bootloop for me. Looks like I'll have to give this awesome ROM a miss unless someone can change the DPI without bootloops?

nice gonna give this rom a spin
@Habarug:
1. The link for the signed version only downloads a broken zip of 11 MB .
2. I see that there is a problem with market apps because of the 140 dpi could you make a flash-able zip to switch to normal dpi if this is making that problem appear?
Grats on ROM release
I suggest using a lcd density changer from market and wipe market data if you miss apps. And, yeah, the signed one is probably broken. The problem is that the school computer, where I have all my tools, is too weak to sign such a large zip. It is also impossible to modify it, so when I made this I had to prepare all the files on my school computer, and package it on our MAC. I will try to find out how to sign on mac tomorrow ;-)

I have a zip that I used to switch from amon-ra to clockworkmod ... after flashing the rom it keeps rebooting to recovery. Could this zip be the problem? Should I try to restore my previous rom and install clockworkmod from Rom Manager?
The 360 launcher is great, although the lockscreen app that comes with it is very choppy. Also as with all other custom lockscreens i.e off market, they take a while to switch from the original lockscreen to the custom one. So yeah definately not feeling the snappiness of decked with the lockscreen. Is there anyway of implementing it actually into the rom? Doubt it but still worth a try asking lol.
The signed one is crap, if you're not on clockwork, you'll have to wait till I get this figured out

Have you disabled stock lockscreen in tablet tweaks? For me It's perfect, the stock one is that way on purpose. The iPhone theme for example is as smooth as an iPhone

Nope I used the "normal" one.
I used a flash-able zip to switch from Amon-Ra to Clockworkmod recovery and then I flashed the rom.
I thought the zip I've used to switch from Amon-Ra to Clockworkmod was a problem so I've also tried to install Clockworkmod from Rom Manager app and flash the rom but the problem persists.
I wipe everything, flash the rom, reboot and after a couple of seconds after the splash screen (the black screen that says HERO) it goes back into recovery.

[ROM] Dark Passion - Unofficial ParanoidAndroid 2.54 | 4.1.2 | Fully Inverted |STABLE

Three Musketeers Proudly Present.....
Welcome to the Darkside....
Dark Passion - Unofficial Paranoid Android 2.54
This started as me compiling Paranoid for a few friends and then after a while it was getting modified everytime I compiled it, to add more and more 'Inverted Apps' and its got to the stage now where its all just about inverted.... when one of my friends suggested we should release it because it was 'good enough' we thought why the hell not...
As stated this is compiled from source by me. Its just the plain compile, with no cherry picks (yet). We have added various things and taken some out to make it better for us and we will be releasing as is. Now this is made for our little circle of friends and I will not be changing it from how it is now... So please don't ask for the old apps to be added back. If you want a plain standard version of Paranoid, use Molesarecoming official version as that is the benchmark we all try to rise too
I will endeavor to update at least once a week, and update the inverted apps accordingly. Some of the inverted apps I use like Google+ will obviously try to update through Play Store when they are updated. If you update it will revert it to normal, so just simply turn off auto updates for them

As with all threads there are always a few that wonder how to flash and the question gets asked again whenever something goes wrong during or after flashing.............Hence where I come in. For those who dont know me I have been a long time poster and user on XDA. I did most of my best work on the forgotten Sensation XL device. I assure you the the procedure I am about to post is used by me and my friends without issues or drawbacks
1. as we all know the rom and inverted gapps zipped folders need to be on the sdcard and you can do this in many ways but I recommend download on to pc then copy to phone via windows explorer. also can download via phone using your device internet connection directly.........however with the latter procedure I have received many symlink errors when flashing zip
2. once rom is on sdcard then reboot into recovery. this also can be done in many ways. Pressing and holding vol up and vol down and power together will launch a bootloader menu from where you can navigate to recovery using vol up button then press power button to select. another way to boot into recovery made simple if you using a custom rom is by long pressing power button to bring up advanced power menu and choosing reboot. this will present you with reboot normal, bootloader or recovery options so choose recovery and hit ok. one final way is by installing 3rd party app from market like quickboot etc.
these steps in recovery were performed using Clockwork Mod for Nexus
3. once in recovery go to backup/restore menu and perform a nandroid backup. essential step if you may wish to revert to previous rom for whatever purpose
4. in recovery you need to perform a full wipe by choosing wipe data/factory reset option from recovery
5. in recovery now choose wipe cache
6. in recovery choose advanced options then select wipe dalvik cache. you can also choose to wipe battery stats and fix permission but not manditoy
7. in recovery then choose mounts and storage menu then choose format system
8. in recovery choose install from sdcard then choose zip from sdcard then select DARK PASSION zip to install the rom
9. now choose inverted gapps zip and flash also
10. in recovery choose reboot system now
Enjoy the rom..............1st normally takes from 5 to 10 mins.
I have tried to make these steps as simple as i can and hope that this helps a few with questions about flashing. thanks for having a look at what we have to offer

Yea but hopefully very different. We have no choice but use inverted gapps as that's STD but we have trolled xda and the web to find more inverted goodies. In this rom we have more inverted apps and changed keyboard. We are also gonna be adding more inverted apps as we find them. PA on its own is very solid so we didn't mess with that at all just went with what we liked and shared it will you guys.

Flashed this last night. Email/Corporate email kept force closing. Otherwise it ran good. I had to go back to Eclipse Rom due to the need for my work email. Thoughts?
Were you using exchange? Because having just done a little reading, I have found that there is a problem with exchange on the inverted apps, apparently there is a fix so I'm going to find it and add it to next release.
I've tested the normal email connecting through pop3 and that works fine on mine, but I haven't got an exchange account to test with, so I'll have to rely on you guys to let me know if it works...
Yes, I was using exchange.
Thanks for looking into this, I liked the rom.
No problems, its what I'm here for
Think I've found the fix, it will be added to the next release. I'm going to flash the rom tonight and check everything else is ok
