Hi everybody,
I just discovered (and backed) a wonderful new Kickstarter Project. The so-called Sensordrone is quite similar to the "Node" and the Sensaris lineup of BT Smartphone addon Sensors, but it offers a lot more, at an attractive price and with a nice level of openness to outside input.
Head over and take a look here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...artphoneand-be
This could be one big step in the direction of Star-Trek Tech getting a bit closer to reality.
Collecting app ideas now in their forums:

P.S.: I'm not affiliated with the company, just a backer.
No commercial links of any kind allowed
hugs and kisses

About Us
We’re a group of designers, developers and general tech tinkerers who have come together to make future interfaces simpler and more helpful. We’re based by the sea down in Brighton, work with Tesco, Google, Intel, Swiftkey & others and we’ve been around for some 5 years now.
Oh, and we’ve just been voted one of the Top 50 Innovators in mobile by Mobile Entertainment, and nominated for Agency Of The Year 2011 by .Net mag.
Job Description
From day one, you’ll be writing code for our own radical in-house products and for high-profile, star-studded client projects. Along with designing and planning with fellow droids, you’ll have the ability to collaborate with designers to realise awesome experiences.
If you’re a London-based developer you should seriously consider quitting the smog and joining us! Hell, if you live anywhere outside of Brighton, you should consider making the move. On top of fresh sea air and a chilled beachy lifestyle, we offer a highly competitive salary. It’s worth thinking about.
Your skillset
We’re looking for someone with strong Android skills, specifically:
• Strong Android codebase brain
• Android ROMing (You’re able to build ROMs *almost* effortlessly)
• Very good Java skills
• Custom Views (canvas, bitmaps and graphics)
• Content resolvers (contacts, messages etc)
• Data storage
…and you’ll need some more general skills too! As with the other ribots, you’ll need a brain like a swiss army knife:
• UX basics
• Source control (git)
• Comfortable with command line
• Unit testing (Android-specific, preferably)
• CI
• Able to move across languages with ease
• Agile experience
How to Apply
Firstly, take a look at this; it's a sweet little presentation that will tell you more about who we are and what we're looking for (it includes a couple of repeated points, but there's plenty new stuff too): http://www.slideshare.net/ribot/are-you-the-droid-were-looking-for-11064841
If after reviewing the presentation you think you're the droid we're looking for, please send your calculated responses to: [email protected]

The project has already reached and surpassed it's funding goal...not bad in 3 days...
CommanderROR, great project, really excited to see how things turn out.
They could actually benefit from some XDA-Developer support. They are looking for app-inventors with new ideas of using all those sensors the device contains.
So if anyone has ideas, post them here or at their forums!

This post is intended for developers who require design work.
Hello,
I am a graphic designer since about 2 years and have been doing mobile design work since about a year. My main area of expertise is App Icon design but I can design UI as well. My design style is flat, modern, clean and professional.
My prices:
App Icon Design: $5
UI Design: $5 per page
Other: Contact for more info
My portfolio: behance.net/ayushmishra
You can contact me via a PM.
I understand that many of you cannot(or don't want to) pay and for those, I offer my service for free, although not in limitless amounts (I'm human too). For those who receive free service, I ask only one thing in return: give me credit somewhere , OR if you really don't want to give me anything in return, I'll still consider doing your thing to some extent . Oh, and I take payments(If I do) after I deliver the work.
P.S: I'm just beginning to learn Android Development and can already feel the tension! Good luck to all and I'll help you out as much as I can!
Best,
Ayush
Dear XDA devs,
we are looking for teammates for a automotive software / hardware project. We want to develop modern cockpits
for motorcycles that can be easily retrofitted. For this we still need people who are familiar with Android or Android Automotive OS.
We have funds, but they are limited.
There are enough buyers (a lot of positive feedback and pre-registrations). We have several large chain stores that are
interested in our products and would like to distribute them. Potential investors are also willing to invest, but would like to see more.
We are currently trying to put together a team to develop one of our devices. There is a lot of work to do, but once we achieve our MVP,
we will no longer have to worry about financial resources. Everyone involved in the project will receive company shares,
the amount of which we have to negotiate together.
Production costs for prototypes are secured, as are other costs in the event of outsourcing or material/software purchasing.
As mentioned, we have some financial security. However, we cannot pay high salaries until we reach our MVP.
Prerequisites would be experience in:
- Android system architecture
- Hardware development / mixed signals / microcontroller programming
- Android development - front end / back end
- UI/UX design
Of course, you do not need to have experience in all areas. However, you should already be an expert in your field.
If you are interested, please contact me and I would also be happy to answer any questions in the thread.
