Your device does not support software upgrade via Kies - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I just restored to stock and I am getting this error when I log into Kies. Also on the phone it's on Android 2.35 and when I click "software update" on the phone I get an error "no firmware".
This is what Kies is telling me:
PDA:Kid
Phone: KL1
CSC:Kid
any ideas how I can fix this?

Ah got it working by flashing the KID Radio

Do you have a link to the radio?

I'd suggest plunging your phone into your computer and upgrade over Kies. My S3 just got the update and I had the same issue. For over a day I tried to update with no luck. So I just plugged it in and it updated ^_^ no issued. Now I have to wait for the update for the note 2 ... Xmas present Samsung? Come on! Haha.

It means the servers are overloaded and you have to wait, usually quicker to update via KIES on your PC than the OTA update that seems to have capacity problems.

[Q] Flashing ROM on a Boost Mobile SGS3 - Receiving Installation Error

Hello Everyone,
Please excuse me, I am a noob here. I recently purchased a Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3, and I wanted to flash a new ROM onto it.
It was my understanding that the Boost Mobile and Sprint versions of the GS3 had the same model number, and therefore were able to be flashed with similar ROMs.
I have gotten this far: - I was able to root it, confirm that it was rooted, and installed CWM touch recovery v6.0.1.2. But when I downloaded a ROM (for example - TheCollective ROM), I am receiving a "status 7" error, the same error that as on this page - http://highonandroid.com/android-roms/how-to-fix-status-7-error-with-cwm-recovery-on-rooted-android/
After following the instructions, I tried to reflash the same ROM and now I am getting an "installation aborted" error. I couldn't find anything that would work on it. I would be really greatful if anyone can guide me to solve this.
Thank you for your help.

Sprint could have blocked this from happening very easily since Boost runs off of Sprint's towers. Im not gonna guarantee it, but you could try to downgrade your radio to something like LG2, then try to flash a custom ROM, then upgrade your radio back. What baseband does about phone section say you have?

The Baseband Version is: L710VPAMG2.
How could I downgrade my radio to LG2? Is that hard to do? Is it done via ODIN?

Looks like you can't, I'm glad i asked you to post your baseband. That baseband is not in the list of radios for the Sprint GS3. You can take a look HERE. Its probably similiar, but not similiar enough.

I wouldn't, would probably render your phone useless. Seems like I read a thread where Sprint blocked this from happening with an update to Boost GS3s, but I can't locate it. If I find it, I'll post it for you here.

Uninstall Kies.
There is a sticky thread with all the firmware if you want to flash the newest one.

No service on latest update fok3

I'm running latest ressurection ROM and have this service issues. Sometimes its emergency calls or no sim card. I just replaced the sim tray so it wasn't that. Anyone have an idea how to fix this. Service won't come back on till I reset the phone but only works for 5-15 mins
Does anything think this could be the 4g sensor issue?
Never had any issue here M919/MDL/OK3. Odin the whole ok3 firmware and try again. (Not using ok3 BL myself, still using the old 4.2.2 one, idk if that makes any difference)

Well did you flash with odin or recovery? Stock or custom rom? Did you use the right kernel? Do you have a backup of your IMEI/EFS? Id try to find an official firmware and flash it with odin. Try one of these: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-A500H/ if you still have problems after flashing stock and dont have a EFS backup...start googling "restore imei galaxy a500h" or something along those lines....good luck and always have a backup of your imei/efs in the future.....also youll prolly get better help if you ask in that devices forum....here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/help
I think the problem was I didn't flash the modem after stock. I used the nonhls version which has given me all bars outside my home. Problem solved'
I flash the custom rom

Question Baseband Version UNKNOWN

Tried everything. Searched through the webs for past couple of days. Everything failed.
Majority of articles are from times of Ancient Rome. None work and are outdated.
Reflashed stock with nand erase and pit file. Checked and failed.
Tried root related solutions? Checked and failed.
Searched modem file. Failed.
Downgrade to prev version? No longer plausible. Due to BIT.
I flashed and reflashed with odin numerious of times. Nothing. Useless. Absolutely useless.
did u solve it?
Did you guys find anything? I think I'm gonna go check at a repair shop for someone with the z3x box and hope for the best.

Nope, he said no matter what rom he flashed it was always unknown IMEI.
However I found something interesting, turns out my IMEI and baseband numbers are intact when I check them from recovery. Maybe downgrading this phone should fix that, although I'm not sure if it is possible.

no, its not possible because of the bit.... can you try using an old modem to see if it solves the problem?

its the CP file in odin
try flashing one from may or august.. don't try november or newer
You need to download an older firmware (older than november, never try that ****ty november update!) of your country's a32 and use just the cp file

I'll get an older firmware from sammobile and get back to you if anything different happens. Just as a note, someone here on XDA said they were able to downgrade when using a Magisk altered ROM.
Edit: I found something similar on another samsung phone here on XDA: thread here.

@Mighty_Rearranger maybe you could try flashing an android 12 gsi? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sing-odin-without-twrp-phh-lineageos.4114435/ I don't have the phone with me right now so I can't test it

OK I tried doing that and now phone is bootlooping with secure check fail md1img error, that's the anti-downgrade thing complaining. No luck down the downgrade hallway.
I think the only option is to wait for a possible solution from the Magisk people or check if a future update somehow fixes the problem.

how do you check them from recovery? I was able to see them once after a botched flashing, entering download mode, there was a "show barcode" option or something like that.
I have read in an older thread in this forum, some guy solved it by downgrading, but to a version which is impossible to downgrade to for us, because our phones already came with the AUJ4 firm, and acannot go back.
