Well it was a long time, no see..
With that said;
As you may or may not know i'm working on a 3.1.10 kernel for the HTC Endeavoru. At this point most of the work is done but i'm stuck now, so i'm looking for help from some other (kernel) devs.
The issue is that the kernel boots fine but reboots after 2 minutes and a few seconds. Seems there is an issue with the frequenty cant be set correctly.
Working:
- Mobile network
- Audio
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- etc.
Wifi will work as soon as the correct drivers are rewriten but seeing it reboots after 2 minutes its kinda useless to do all this work now.
The board files are rewriten for the most part and only some drivers are forward port from 2.6.39 (power, leds, camera) all the other is stock 3.1.10 stuff.
You can find the kernel source here:
https://github.com/TripNRaVeR/tripndroid-endeavoru-3.0
Edit 21-06-2012:
The reboot issues are sorted and the kernel is stable, in the meantime more drivers rewriten so only camera is 2.6.39.4 at this point. Alpha will be available tonight as i'm going to do a quick "redo" to get a cleaner source.
It will be a nvidia tegra reference kernel so most likely not working on sense. A Android reference kernel (3.3.0) also from scratch build is also in the makin and will follow up after this.
PRE-TEST STUFF: UPD: 24-06
This version includes the wifi stuff
A pre-test version is available here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?nh0nacpwijuj441
The zipfile contains modules and a zImage because its merely intended for people who know what they are doing.
You need to push the modules to system/lib/modules and then fastboot boot zImage
Test 4: 02-07-2012
http://www.mediafire.com/?pucj6msblflbj3a
Post youre reports in this topic!
Test 5: near a finish
http://www.mediafire.com/?v116zr7twaip780
Note: flashing at youre own risk and you know that you are downloading a kernel not based of any htc stuff so i could be missing some important parts/protections (offcourse i tested this release so you're kinda safe)
Hey trip, it might be worth having a chat with kholk as he has a 3.4 kernel that is almost released and does not have this problem (so possibly has solved this issue).
Finally u r in xda..welcome mate......let the magic flow now..

For me it is not slow at all, just the reboot after 2 minutes
Very much welcome!

Glad to see you back here Trip, I wish I could actually help, but good luck!

Strange normally that shouldnt make a difference between cm9 or sense
Welcome back Trip, loved your work and your current cm9 rom is great.
Is the terrible battery life and nuclear fusion heating fixed now then? (that was a non-S2W kernel, too...)
Although I must confess the loss of WiFi range I was ranting about a few weeks ago was nothing to do with Trip's CM9/Kernel - it was a now well-documented hardware fault
awesome to see you here matey

Hopefully we get a somewhat working port by Christmas!!!
Hi,

Oh and... Full qoutes are not so cool
It wont boot.............
Just joking This gives me sense of optimism. ICS is coming with small steps but its definitly coming. Thanks.
Hi,
I will try to work on the Rom tomorrow but maybe I dont see a bug/misstake and another sees it
This is exiting news !! can't wait to see ICS working on our hd2's
I am think I know why it wont boot!
I try that later... now I go to bed, spent lot of time
I already have a booting version, with working adb but there is problem with libdvm.so

Honestly, it is kind of a waste of time to port the ICS SDK. I know that you can say that you were first to port ICS, but all you would get is a buggy build that has a bunch of missing features. It would be cool to play around with it a few days before the source actually come out but is the effort really worth it?
Check out my git repo: https://github.com/anarchron/N1_ICS

Agreed. Let's wait for ASOP or CM. No need to lose sleep over something that will never work good considering the past experiences with SDK ports.
Well, I have it running, but no more.
It has some strange screen pointer which makes using the device really irritating
Anyway, porting SDK sucks.

I've played a little with the SDK emulator today, I thought there was a setting to turn on/of the screen pointer under development settings or something(so settings > development > screen pointer)
Not sure, but you can try it
This is my first rom for the WFS, Mainly i made it for my wife but its stable,Fast,Rosie is snappy and runs pretty damn good with the standard kernel!
I will try to update it as much as i can but its my wifes WFS and she worries about me with her phone lol
Based on the HTC Europe 2.13.401.2 RUU with some added bits and pieces.
So "Whats different?" Well try it and see how it feels! I've added quite a few tweaks and am pretty sure its the fastest WFS Rom i've tried!
I WILL UPDATE OP TOMORROW AFTER WORK!
Antutu score :1500? Will have to improve that!

1.Apps2sd) I think its disabled on start so check HERE For Darktremors command list (cachepart puts the device into bootloop for me)
or try this in terminal or adb shell
su
a2sd cachesdreset Thanks to elf2009
2.First boot) The ROM is de-odexed so it WILL take a while to boot up! Keep this in mind!
3.Installation) I am NOT responsible for ANY damage to your phone, Your on thee forums you accept that by flashing anything.Full wipe is recommended but not essential.
4.Overclocking) You can use overclocking kernels if you wish, make sure its compatible! I dont use them on my wifes WFS.

You have to Edit your build.prop to haev this line rild.libpath=/system/lib/librilswitch.so Then flash the zip file through recovery, Turn on your WIFI and open the app wait a minute and Voila

Hey
First of all: nice work, it's a great ROM, i installed and it's very snappy but, has a major inconvenient, at least for me, to little space on internal storage - around 60 mb. If you can solve this to be alt least 100 it will be great.
Thank you for you ROM an keep up the good work!

Would you be able to add the "fastboot erase cache" command after you flash the boot img? I usually have problems booting into recovery if I don't do this.

Apparently the installer detected the phone as 'pyramid' instead of 'endeavoru'.

That would be quite impossible, except your device is a pyramid, you have a pyramid connected, or your build.prop says pyramid.
PS: the screenshot does not work here.

I think it is because I have pyramid in build.prop.

boot your phone into fastboot and start the program, it will then read out the devicename from fastboot directly (which can't be altered).
It should then say endeavoru and go on with it's business
PS: Screenshot works now
Please tell the ViperX guys to fix their build.prop

I think it is because of the Gameloft compability on Venom Tweaks is activated
the problem is gameloft compatibility turn on,the initial build.prop after installation is correctly,in case you have turn on this tweaks turn it of and build.prop return to original, sorry for my bad english
Another German's piece of art, congratulations show-p1984!
perfect tool, comfortable, and most importantly it works perfectly, in fact, as previously mentioned, you may be wanting to add fastboot erase cache, and run. Now we just wait for his new version of the kernel , and so everything perfect. A greeting and thanks

Hello everyone, I thought we could start some Ubuntu Touch porting so wanted to share thoughts, ideas, development and maybe do this as a community work. I'm currently preparing everything (slow adsl) and trying to figure out which are the steps to be followed
It's not very difficult according to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
But we've a first problem, the porting requires the use of CM10.1 repos and cm10.1 for our device is a bit of a dream atm, better, there's the repo but no nightly at all. Would we be able or would it be worth to try to use one of the cm10.1 porting available for the hox or we must wait for an official nightly?
I think I should give a try, but I don't really want to waste my time so I may be missing something important which absolutely requires the official repos.
Ideas?
P.s sorry if this isn't the most appropriate section, tell me and even move the thread if necessary, but I'd prefer to stay away from "nice thanks", "fantastic" and so posts, they make no sense now since it's too soon and just distract.
Can't we use tbalden's kernel and device trees? It's as official as it gets.

You mean this https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_device_htc_endeavoru? I haven't followed cm10.1 porting and development very much so it's pretty much what I was asking, when compiling a rom starting from this repo, will it work?

The builds from that repo have all been really solid. I guess it'll serve as a base.
Thanks, will start from it tomorrow, it's midnight here and still waiting for the download to finish...
Moved to Q&A
Nevermind this post.
I'm trying to port it too but download is really slow. We have CM10.1 for our device. but i think it's juste usefull to boot.
Keep following your work too.
I've synced 3 hrs now and only have fetched 2Gb. They should probably invest in some servers.
lol... my download crashed during the night... now i'm at 88% for phablet.. and waiting also for CM10.1...
Edit: My download crashed again at 15.45 pm...... i'll become crazy...

Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Well, as expected, the build failed to boot. Back to the drawing table.
EDIT: utopykzebulon will build soon with my patches. Hopefully he comes up with something.
