It's not compatible. Try using a custom ROM.

I mean rebooted, not revolted. And I didn't uninstall appearantly, because right now after clearing the launchers data I could select ICS 4.0 Launcher and it works fine. Btw its the one from sydnicate apps.

there is good news and bad news:
I'll start with the bad one - not really possible, as it is not just a simple app, it's more like a framework, and devs need to work too much for this to be possible, if this is ever possible
The good news - you can download the kindle apps from amazon, and use them one by one, like Kindle for Android, Amazon Mp3, etc. :good:
I was looking for the same thing and found this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1596706
I was trying it a little bit yesterday, and messed something up... I am going to flash a new ROM either tonight or in the next cpl of days and then I am going to try again making sure I follow the steps correctly.
I did get the amazon video app to load, but when I tried searching for a specific title it did a FC

No one uses Amazon Video On Demand App?
what app? There isn't one.
I use it on the iPad. There's no android version that I can find...
I had it running on my touch pad and nook tablet. There is an apk for it. Pm me if you want it. There are other things that need to be installed with it as well but can't remember off the top of my head.

well i downloaded and flashed jandycane 1.7.2 and when i rebooted there was a problem with trebuchet, the app keeps closing and it wont work so my home screen wont load either so im not sure if there is a problem with the app it self or something else. Was wondering if there was something i could do to fix it or should i go back to cm10 without jandy cane
Clean install? Dirty install? Use another launcher, uninstall trebuchet, reinstall trebuchet. Try that.

When I encounter odd issues, I also clean wipe to fix. Glad you got it going.

Mine did the same thing when I did a dirty flash. A clean flash took care of it with no issues. The trebuchet launcher on jandycane doesn't seem to play well with others.

Hello everyone,
First off I'd like to point out I am a noob when it comes to kindle rooting/flashing but have experience rooting mobile devices and most recently the Razr Maxx so I have some basic knowledge but not enough to figure out what my kindle is running. I recently bought a used Kindle Fire 1st gen and I have just realized that it is or has been rooted at some point and time . Here are a few things I can offer the experts to try and help me figure out where to start to find out what I'm running, etc.
- Looks like its running stock not a custom ROM. I see nothing to be related to Android System, no Google play market or android anywhere in the device settings
- The system version under device tab shows 6.3.1_user_7 digit number (option to "update your kindle" is greyed out)
- When I power on the Kindle the boot logo shows the words Kindle in white and FIRE in blue. At the bottom of the screen it says "press power button for boot options"
-When I hold the power button down the boot options are: Normal/Recovery/Reset Boot Mode
-In Recovery it shows that its running TWRP V 2.1.1
-I have had a error message that says "The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" pop up at random times
Before I figured out it had been flashed/rooted at some point and time, I went to the device options and factory reset to default because the previous owner left some apps and games on it, not sure if that was a good or bad thing to do I do not see any Superuser App or anything that would be a giveaway that it has root. To the best of my knowledge it's been functioning properly other than the forceclose issue I mentioned above.
Hopefully someone can help me figure out what this thing is running if anything and what i should update and what exactly a rooted Kindle allows me to do as the thought had not even crossed my mind about it being able to get root.. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
This is running stock with the custom bootloader and recovery

Im sorry but what does Side load mean? Never have heard that one on the mobile side of the forum sorry for the dumb question.
What are the perks of having a flashed ROM on a Kindle other than the customization part of it?

means find an apk online and put it on your sd card and manually install it.
benefits range from faster overall, to being able to get more apps

Ah OK, thanks for the clarification. Do they improve battery life like with mobile ROMs? I've noticed the battery life isn't that great on this kindle.
In regards to the get more apps part do you mean by being able to get apks to install manually vs what's available in the Amazon store?
