Hello i am having an issue with UNLOCKING my optmius 2x from fido. i just bought it and decided to unlock it, so i went out and found the most well know site i could to buy a code and made SURE everything matched up and it all did and still DOES Now my problem is as follows-
I entered the nck code first the phone quickley rebooted and i threw a new rogers sim into the phone but i got no bars and the phone told me there was not network then switched to no sim.
Then i put a bell sim card into the phone with the same response nothing.. so i went and put the rest of the codes into the phone and they all gave me network unlock request unsuccessful and same with the nck one now as well.. and i do not know if it said that it work the first time as it was just a quick flash
Now i have been geting help from people down in the optmius 2x section of the fourms they told me i should revert to stock 2.2 and i did with the SAME RESULTS! i also tryed an ics rom and i could not even get to the sim screen.
Can any one help me on this problem? i am looking to use my phone and i am not able to at this time
The phone is now rooted and runing ics
let me know how i can fix this

So over 300 people have never seen this before anyone one know of a way to see if the phone is unlocked WITH OUT putting in a diff sim card like a terminal command or somthing? also is there another way of unlocking the phone via softweare?

ive got a galaxy s from tmobile and is unlocked ive put in a giffgaff simcard and everythings good
i then flashed jpc thru kies and like a few poeple lost the product code and ime.
i flashed back to official jm1 and then after about 2 days my phone wont send or accept texts and i cant call out or receive.
i thought because the ime was corrupt my phone was blacklisted as i tried with different sims but it said "not regestered to network. so i decided i was going to brassneck it and phone tmobile and say after i upgraded to official jm1 it fooked my phone.
but met a friend today with a tmobile simcard and asked if i could use it just to check before i phoned tmobile and guess what it worked no problem.
the giffgaff simcard works on my kaiser winmo phone
the phone doesnt ask for an unlock code when i put my giffgaff simcard in and i can use market and internet no problem
if it doesnt ask for an unlock code how can i get my giffgaff simcard to text and call as i dont want a tmobile one

that is becuase you cannot goto jpc and then back as you loose your imei.. unless you backed up your efs directory your are now hosed.. unfort. you should have done some more reading before the flashing..
with all due respect i know the pitfalls of flashing and i was one of the first to flash it so all the pros and cons of jpc wernt there.
im asking about the texts and calls and the simcards
i wasnt asking about ime
so read what i wrote then if you can help then do so,
if not dont give me a lecture about it

i am answering what you wrote about.. the reason you phone is acting funky and locked in my opinion is that the network is not accepting your screwy imei and that is why texts and calls are not working..
or possibly more than one person on your network has the same imei which would also cause problems.

maybe because of the obvious that another person is on that net with the same imei , but not on the tmobile net or tmobile doesnt respond in the same way.
or somehow it got relocked to t-mobile.
maybe try a 3rd sim to isolate the issue?
yes only tmobile sim works but as i said when i put my giffgaff sim in i cant send texts or call but can use internet
ive tried an orange sim no dice it acts the same as the giffgaff
so for some strange reason the other sims are half locked as it doesnt ask for code
serves me right for downloading jpc then downgrading before most people had tried it

sounds like it still may be locked or half locked have you tried the unlock methods used on the captivate or your phone to see if you get any results.
the internet wifi would still work while locked i think? so that is no suprise...
(you could always change to tmobile
i have never unlocked but if it doesnt ask for code i assume you cannot try the lock methods above.. is there a way to force it to the unlock menu?
luckily if this ever happens to me i have a copy of the efs directory on my computer (I read about someone loosing their imei even b4 the latest froyo update.. dont remember why but i quickly made a backup)
also you could do like someone else said in a forum flash back to stock.. then reflash and unplug in the middle to purposely try and brick it (but i think even in that case bootloader still works) but feign ignorance about flashing and just bring in to t-mobile store and say it is not working.. hopefully they will reflash with everything and fix imei as well.
hey guys.. i bought valid unlck code for my imei for my device..but directions i got to do the unlock were very vague...i inserted a working non accepted at and t sim...but cant get prompt to enter unlock code...ive tried everything...can anybody help me?/// ive got sgs2 t989...anybody have tips to get it to say "enter sim unlock code?"...im dying to unlock...im currently running on tmobile MONTHLY 4g...id love to switch if i ever need to to AT+T or simply mobile....but cant seem to get it to promptfor the code...is there anyway to do it without using somebody elses non working activated sim?...im ertain my unlock code is good...just cant get to where i enter it...one time i think i did...it just says no mobile network...any help is GREATLY appreciated..thanks!!!

Today I bought a Note 2 on Craigslist. Since it was from TMobile I though it was only a matter of putting my sim card in the phone and it would work, I was wrong. The person that I bought the phone from gave me an unlock code that he got straight from T-Mobile, however when i used my sim card the phone didn't ask me for the code, so I assumed it was already unlocked.
I called Metro PCS to replace my current phone (LG optimus 9) with the Note 2, they tried using the IMEI number and they told me that there was a problem, that they couldn't activate the phone, and that I had to go to a T-Mobile store. I went to the store, they checked the IMEI and they say it was fine, the guy also told me that the unlock codes are only valid for 72 hours and the person who sold me the phone requested the code on 01/17/14 which means the code its no longer valid.
After that I tried calling Metro to get the phone activated, it didn't work...
I thought that maybe the phone was still locked so I did a downgrade to 4.1.1 - UVALJ1 (the phone was rooted and it had a 4.3 custom rom) and unlocked the phone using the method of that "secret" menu. I tried using the Metro sim card, no luck. At this point I dont know what else to do, a T-Mobile sim card works fine, I haven't tried with another carrier, however I've been using my Metro sim card in my L9 with no problem, so I don't see why it shouldn't work with the Note 2.
So my question is if anybody has tried using the Note 2 on metro, specifically a T-Mobile one, and if so, how did you make it work?
I am pretty new to all of this rooting and android stuff, but I have done as much research as possible before asking, this is my last resource so hopefully someone can help me. Thank you in advance.
Update: After trying multiple times to activate the phone on Metro PCS it turns out the phone appears on their database as it hasnt been paid in full and theres an unpaid equipment installment balance, that is only on Metro PCS database. I went to T-Mobile and everything was fine on their system, no blacklisted, no unpaid balances, no nothing so I activated the phone with them. Now hopefully the guy who I bought the phone from doesnt decide to report the phone as stolen or lost just to be an ahole.
Im on android 4.1.1 and I want to upgrade but my phone its telling me that I cant upgrade because my phone was modified. I want to upgrade to 4.3 but I dont know if I lost root when I downgraded to 4.1.1, how can I check if im still rooted and what rom do you guys recommend flashing? Thanks in advance

So I searched online for how to unlock my LG phone. Found many results that tell me the first half of the steps. Found a couple of threads here too about it, but no concrete solution. So, I tried to root it and was successful with Framaroot. Then Installed Clockwork. Then attempted to install the above mentioned patch using Clockworks recovery mode, but it didn't appear to fix the GSM lock. Whenever I insert my SIM card I get an icon that looks like a SIM card with a question mark inside a red circle at the top right. And when I try to dial a number, any number, I get some chineese lady saying something.
Any idea what does that mean?
I just unbricked/unrooted my phone back to 711A firmware and 4.1.2 Android as it was all the way from the beginning.

Ok ill try and be brief regarding the issue im having...i bought a t mobile m8 off CL. Took it home unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and flashed viper rom. it wasnt until after I had done all this that I noticed the phone is actually s-off. Amyways, i got the phone for my wife to use on her metro pcs account. I found a site online and ordered the unlock code for it and received it 10 min later. I proceeded to put her metro sim in the phone expecting to be prompted to enter the unlock code but I never got the prompt. After that I spent the next 24 hours on the internet tryin to figure out wut to do. I wasn't sure if that meant that the phone is already unlocked or not and dont really know how to check that. I do know that when i put the metro sim in and set the proper apn i can't even get calls and text's to work. I get not signal of any kind, nothin. Nothing i tried produced any results. At this point I have gone back to bone stock kit kat, no root, and bootloader relocked. That didnt accomplish anything either. So basically Im wondering if anyone knows why Im not being prompted for the unlock code, if there is a way to check if the phone is unlocked other than putting a different sim in since we only have the metro one, and how to I get this phone activated and recognized on metro since I know ive put in the correct apn.
I tried to be brief but failed miserably. Any help at all would be phenomenal. Thank u!!
