What should we if One X stuck in bootloop, and we can not remove battery, because it is inside phone?
How can we enter recovery?
I think same is for One S and One V, because they have non removable battery.
This has been answered 100 times.
Press the power button for 10 seconds, phone restarts. Holding volume down should get you to recovery.
holding down power will always get it to reboot
alternatively holding power and down will also get you into recovery/fastboot
ive bootlooped before so it works

If your in a bootloop and reinstalling the rom doesn't work then go into fast boot and use "fastboot erase cache" then restart the phone you should also try reflashing the boot.IMG for your rom again.

You flashed the correct boot.img?
As this is your problem for boot loops.
Unless you have a U.S dual core HOX & flashed ARHD for the Tegra3 version?
Recovery is power + volume down
Also adb can get you there,
adb reboot recovery

I haven't started a new thread as I have a similar problem.. I have a 3 UK HTC one x and I received the latest update this morning. I couldn't apply the update for some reason, so regressed it back to 1.26 then the 1.28 and then the latest one. I then flashed my nandroid backup which I took before updating. It is now boot looping and gets to the lock screen then reboots. I cannot reflash with the latest update as its now not on the phone.. is there a way of getting a nandroid backup to it or the ota.. I looked at adb but can't seem to get a connection as it doesn't list in devices.. have I missed something.. thanks in advance

Right, I've had a look around the forum a bit now for help with my issue but decided it's time to post my own thread.
I unlocked and rooted my phone a while back installed clockwork recovery and CM 9. I now want to upgrade to the latest version of CM but my recovery won't boot up...
I've tried downloading the CWM manager to my phone and re flashing from there and tried flashing other recovers and yet it still tried Clock work mod flashes on and immediately off and my phone reboots...
Can anyone lend me their knowledge?
Thanks.
Put recovery.img in the fastboot folder
Put your phone in fastboot mode
Open dosprompt ( cmd prompt )
Go to fastboot folder
Type :
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
And then enter recovery
I suggest you flash the latest cmw recovery 5.8.4.0
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Currently at work so will try this when i get back home.
Although, im sure this is the process i followed when trying to fix the problem before posting this thread.
Will update.
i have the htc AT&T and everytime i load clockworkmod it just boots to the htc logo and stays there
twrp will take but it wont work right, "Failed to mount cache"
If its getting messy. Download the recovery and flash it via the htc one x toolkit in dev section. No commands just clicking LOL.
You put the zip into the recovery folder.connect yoir phone then just flash recovery. Personally twrp recovery works better. More options..

My friend gave his one x to fix it for him. The problem is that the phone is stuck in airplane mode but in status bar it doesnt show an airplane.... It shows empty signal bar with an x as if theres no service......and when i try turn it off it says it stucks at turning off , leave it for hours and it will still be the same..... I tried rebooting the phone, factory reset, installed custom rom, RUU and i did all kinds of wipe and format in cwm and still the same. I have searched a lot about this i found some people with the same situation but i didnt find any solution installing other roms and kernels does not fix the problem...... Switch the power off and hold the power and volume down button for a few seconds until the soft touch keys (bottom three) flash a few times. I had this once and couldn't get it to work until i simulated a 'battery pull', which the above action imitates.
Hope it fixes this issue.

No, it doesn't help. If reboot helped it'd be stupid treat, but it's not. I can't send my phone for warranty repair, because hboot 1.31, even it's relocked. If I wait for RUU that matches the hboot and CID HTC_032 may be it will solve my problem or at least my warranty will not be void.
Doc_j is right rebooting doesnt help..... But my situation is a little diferrent i did not install any hboot . The phone was untouched when it got stuck in airplane mode.... Everything was stock i tried factory reset b4 changing anything but it didnt work. Doc_j did u try a stock kernel ? Or RUU ? Anyway if u find a solution plz let me know.... GL

I think it may be related to HBoot 1.31 as I've read of other cases. Not ideal and I hope it isn't, as you'd have to wait for a later firmware in order to fix the problem

Hi again,
today I flashed ARHD, problem still there.
I think its acting worse on the ARHD, when I booted I connected to my wifi, no internet connection. Thats unusual because on other roms I get the internet for like 10 min then there would be no connection just the wifi connected. ARHD internet comes for 2 min disconnect -.- really annoying
could it be the boot img?
I used ARHD fast boot file he provided to flash the boot.img before the rom, in other roms I type in CMD
fastboot erase cache
fastboot boot (i drag the boot img here)
then I go to recovery
wipe
install
thats all... is there something wrong im doing?
thanks

Well hello guys, first let me explain what happend.
Last sunday i rooted my HTC Desire HD and everything went well. First I installed the latest miui rom with desire hd support from miuiandroid.com . But then i heard more about jelly bean roms and today installed codefireX's R19 version of his rom. But when i found out that it did not work with whatsapp I decided to change back to miui. Since i had made a nandroid backup of MIUI I thought i could use that. And this is where the problems started appearing. I hit the restore button in my recovery and the restore was succesfull, but when it rebooted nothing happened. I got the HTC logo, but after that I got only a backlit black screen. Wich then went completely black with a little noise comming from my phone After a few seconds it rebooted again and went straight into recovery. I have tried all my nandroid backups, but none worked. I even tried flashing MIUI from scratch, but that only send me into a bootloop in wich i could see the MI logo and then nothing.
So whatever i do, it just wont boot. I can get into recovery and the bootloader, but nothing more. Please help me guys, i searched all over the internet but have not found anything like my problem. Have I broken my phone??:crying:
Hey guys, well after a lot of trying and patience if finaly got my Phone to work again:laugh:. I flashed android revolution and that booted right up. But i still wonder why Clockwork restore didn't work
did you unlock bootloader with the official htc tool? if you did, recovery cant restore your kernel, similar to when you flash a rom. in this case, you should be fine flashing kernel like you do when flashing a rom
if that is not the case, it is probably just a corrupted backup. it does happen sometimes

Is your bootloader unlocked? If so, have you fastboot flashed the boot.img?
Hey th0mas_, well I did use the htcdev way of unlocking my bootloader. So i guess that that is probably the whole problem. But just a noob question, how do i flash a kernel?? Tnx ahead guys, still a bit to anxious to flash a new rom though hahaha.
And to you gray, i just needed to have a lot of patience, after a few minutes of quietly brilliant. It just booted into the setup. But you do have to flash the boot.img first before it will boot.

You've done a full wipe؟؟؟؟
1 - full wipe ( with delvik + cache ) in recovery
2 - install your rom ( if your rom have problem try another rom)
3 - extract boot.img from your rom zip file and copy to fastboot folder
4 - and go to fastboot and type this command :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
if again show error try with another rom
i hope solved

same problem, i already flashed kernel then flashed ROM, but it's always stuck ini HTC logo or even worst just restarting into the same HTC logo..

A bit late to the show but...
Remember that not just do you have to install the ROM, but you need to flash the boot.img too. Yes, this is a two-step process!
Easy...Install ROM from CWM or equivalent. Also, you must extract the boot.img from the ViperX4.x.x.zip file on your PC.
Copy the boot.img to your fastboot folder (you have one more than likely on your PC if you followed just about any thread ever...).
Flash this file to your phone (after fastboot usb selected) by typing from CMD Prompt: flashboot flash boot boot.img
for further see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605720
and if no luck try: http://www.guidingtech.com/12705/solve-boot-loop-htc-one-x-custom-rom/
Good Luck!
