I have always used DRY INSTALL Zagg full body protectors on my phones and honestly have had zero problems with them.... i dont see the big fuss... they work perfectly... maybe im just missing out on something awesome and better though
what is everyones favorite DRY INSTALL --- NON LIQUID screen protector
150 views and no replies?
nobody uses non-liquid screen protectors?
I used a dry screen protector on my 3gs a few years ago and it was better than most liquid ones ive had on my droids since. I got a free dry screen protector with a Zenus leather flip case for my gs2, that was good.
I prefer SGP Ultra Oleo (Anti-Fingerprint)

I second that. Ultra Crystal gets too greasy, and Ultra Optics makes weird zip sounds when you swipe from the micro textures... Oleophobic is the best.

"Dies out"... as in scratches? Current one on my SGS2 still has 0 scratches, and I've had that thing on there for almost 6 months. Or, are you talking about anti-fingerprint capabilities? If you've used Ultra Crystal, then you'll realize just how much better Ultra Oleophobic is in that department.
I'm sorry guys, but i can't see any point in using screen protection.all sgs's comes with gorilla glass and this cannot be scratched in any way.
I've had 3 sgs(2 sgs1+1 sgs2) for the past 22 month and never ever made a scratch and i still got them all(nostalgic,i know).it's a waste of money.
The back cover is another matter.

You make me laugh... gorilla glass cant be scratched?
If you think you think it cant be scratched then rub some sand over your screen. Silica will scrattch you screen no problem!
I use the Martinfields screenprotector it's not liquid but can be removed and washed if necessary. I've used them on all my phones for the last god knows how many years. Easy to fit and practically unnoticeable.

? i'm referring to oil resisitance. go google reviews of the oleo. every forum review/amazon review will confirm that after few weeks it loses its coating.

This is terribly inaccurate. I think more than enough of us here have seen Gorilla Glass scratch (to our horro) to know otherwise. Gorilla Glass never even claims to be scratch proof, only highly scratch resistant. It's great that you haven't had any scratches though. I wish I was that fortunate.

if you have oily fingers like me, then Ultra Crystal is going to be a nightmare with the the fingerprints.
I have applied gorilla glas 2 on mine. Still no scratches. Almost looks like there is no protector at all.
have a look at eXim screen protectors, had them for years from psp to mobiles. Ordered the SPUC version with 99% clarity and no glues.

Please everyone i am confused
what is the best one ?
SGP ultra crystal Screen Protector
or
SPG Glas Screen Protector
which one last longer ?
and which one effect less at the sensitivity of the touch screen ??
which one has less chance to bubbles appears ?
which one having less problem at all than other ??
please i would like to decide ASAP
I use the SGP Glas. It looks cool and offers really good protection. Now maybe I didn't do the great job putting the screen on, but sometimes, I have to push the screen harder than I'd like to for the phone to register. When I notice this happening, I usually smooth the screen down with my shirt and it seems to work fine. Haven't used the other protector, so I can't comment there.

i had the SGP ULTRA CRYSTAL and then replaced it with the SGP GLAS and i am very impressed with the SGP GLAS it combines a very very good protection, a very good feel, no color Distortion and also a very hard to scratch surface.
i also had the sensitivity problem but after looking at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142141
i saw this:
*Screen Sensitivity Issues with SGP Glas*
This has been tackled many times on different threads and even SGP admits it on the Glas product page.
Flashing your phone with a custom kernel, like ninphetamine, is already available that corrects this sensitivity issue.

so i installed the ninphetamine kernel and it did fixed the probelm and after that i installed the speedmode kernel that also has this fix but in my opinion is better.
so after fixing the sensitivity problem my opinion is that the SGP GLAS is absolutely amazing on all aspect (no color distortion, good feel like the original screen, no affect on sensitivity and of course a very good screen protection).
Thanx friends ,
tell me please about the SPG Glas .. what is the expected life time of it ?
i mean how long it last on my phone ??
is it last longer or zagg screen shield ?
because i used zagg on my older phone
it's more than year and it still good
zagg provide endless Guarantee , what about glas one ??
so what about Glas life time ? longer , shorter or the same ??
i decided to order 2 SGP GLAS pieces and Neo Hybrid tomorrow
but i would like to know first about the life time of it
waiting asap friends
I got a GLAS not too long ago as well. The actual screen protector is made with glass, so I don't see why it shouldn't last longer than the regular conventional screen protectors. I actually purchased the ultra oleophobic not too long ago, which resists oil. The GLAS has the same properties, so I'm pretty glad with the product so far.
and actually, regarding the ultra crystal, I used the one they included when i bought my hybrid sgp case, and even though you can't beat the clarity, i didn't like the stickiness of the film. The GLAS is def. more smooth.
Ultra crystal is cheap, but doesn't protect against oil, leading to rainbow effects, and any imperfection in the cut will have those annoying vertical lines, as well as incredibly clarity on every piece of dust you trapped with the screen protector.
The SGP Glas is nice, I just applied it, however, it's not as nice as a true anti-oleophobic protector, it doesn't fit perfectly, as in I lined up all the sensors and camera, but the capacitive buttons don't line up with the lights, and it's impossible to line it up perfectly, which makes me wish i had steadier hands/better eyesight. But even if it's off a little bit, it's still damn good. It also will demand you to root your phone, since Samsung wants the charger to charge the phone instead of pick up your touchscreen commands.
TL;DR: You get what you pay for.
Just wondering, does anybody put a screen protector on top of the SGP GLAS? Getting mine soon.

Not everyone likes their screen protectors glossy, but extra tampered glass in front of the screen to absorb the initial impact (if it comes to that) can be handy.
The Glas however, only comes glossy.
So yes, call me strange but I use a screen protector (SGP Optics) on top of a screen protector (Glas) and the SGS2 screen is taking it like a champ. Except for the capacitive buttons lol.

I have the glas. I'll remove it as soon as I receive my shadowskinz one.
Glas was fine for the first 2 days then a bubble/black dot that appeared in the middle. I can remove it but as soon as I put it in my pocket it reappear.
Dunno if it's the heat in my pocket but it's not that great.
I tried the SGP ultra clear one it was a little better than glas but not enough. If my shadowskinz sick, it's gonna be a Zagg.

Hi,
I finally got SGP Ultraclear screen protector and installed it successfully last night. It is very clear and screen looks same as before. But I found a few issuea which I didn't expect.
First, I can easily see a lot of finger prints. It was not noticeable when there was no protector but now I can clearly see it.
Second I also can see rainbow effect from side view. It is hard to see from normal angle though.
I may take off this protector later. I am wondering if this is normal.

gorilla glass is scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
and the galaxy note doesnt have gorilla glass. it has a form of hardened glass, but its not gorilla glass. or so ive read in one of the threads here.
personally, i prefer to have a screen protector for those times you accidentally drop your phone on something or you drop something on your phone. i cant stand scratches on displays since they tend to refract light and annoy the hell out of me.
i think u should go with SGP ultra optics screen protector , i havent tried it personally but people been saying good things about it.
what concerns me about it is that does it affect the display an way or another ? grainy effects ?
for the moment i have a Brando ultra clear screen protector , its very good and clear but its a fingerprint magnet , supposedly with SGP ulta optics u should get ultra clariness and no fingerprints.
would love some feedback from someone who already tested it
cheers

highly recommend! It may be the best anti fingerprint protector, tried the anti fingerprint from SGP on SG2, many "color spots", ultra optics has NO "color spots" produce, of coz it not as clear as the ultra crystal, but really worth it.

some places mention it has gorilla glass, some doesnt.
its not listed on the samsung website and its not listed on the corning website so i'd say we cant confirm or deny it. all we do know is that the galaxy nexus isnt using gorilla glass either, its using hardened glass. so the best we can hope for is that the galaxy note is also using hardened glass.

I purchased the same product from Amazon. It is really clear and does fit the whole screen, even has a cut out for the home button. Went on relatively easily without the need for a solution. Cant even tell it on there.
It's not a solution aided style protector, if you add solution you will ruin it.
The trick is being in a clean room with no air flow, then you can have as many goes as you want without getting too much dust, and what you do get you can remove with the dust removing sticker.
I got 3 Screen Guard protectors with a TPU S-Case from eBay. I really had no interest in the protectors, but I like it a lot better than I thought I would. Fingerprints don't wipe off completely but they seem to blend in with the plastic. You almost can't see them anyway when the screen is on. I see no rainbow effect and there is no image distortion unless the screen gets too oily.

Cracks me up every time I read something like this
I used to be very careful up til the day my wife got a screen protector installed by a guy in the Beijing subway (yeah, anything can be done at those subway exits). And believe me, it is windy, and dusty! Those who may know Beijing know how true that is
Result really is perfect....
Sorry don t mean to offend, just funny to see how good care we put into it and seeing how one guy sitting in a dusty, windy area can pull it off just as well
Cheers
No offense taken
But, keep in mind that the dude in the subway is experienced, it takes him 15 seconds prob to clean + fit + charge you.
Where as normal user who have done it maybe 3 - 5 times, will need more time!

Not optics but i can vouch for ultra crystal clear
I had it on a different phone and I loved it. I will probably pick it up.
It actually saved my screen! That is why I will never have trouble recommending it.
Its a hard screen protector.
Something sharp it my screen with force, dead on center and I saw the entire thing shatter - spider cracks throughout it. I then took off the screen protector and the screen was UNTOUCHED! The screen protector took all the force! The spider cracks were throughout the steinheil screen protector! Since then they are my favourite brand.
You will see smudges on the screen and fingerprints, but thats just like the normal glass anyway. Its very smooth and very clear.

Spider cracks you mean? I wish i had taken a photo but it was a year ago. I closed the center console door on top of my phone and forgot it had two points that protrude to hold a pen. Those points jammed right into the screen of the phone and it looked like the screen had cracked, but it was actually only the screen protector.
I was very relieved.
The crystal does have a high hardness rating.

I tried out the ultra crystal while waiting for my replacement FlexHD. Ultra crystal is very nice, but prone to fingerprints. Also the cut does not cover the whole screen. Aside from the fingerprints, which are to be expected on a "clear" protector, this is a very nice one but the minimal cut is not to my taste.
I can post pics if anyone is curious.

How well does this screen protector adhere to the screen?
I bought the Belkin Clear ScreenGuard protector for the SGS3 and the Belkin screen protector has started to "bubble" around the screen protector because of the curved nature of the SGS3 screen.

#1 reason I don't use glass protectors is because they're hard and trapped dust can't be removed easily. This might actually make me switch to glass in the future. Too bad I already purchased a 6-pack of matte SP's for my N5 which will last me till I dispose of the phone.

I get it but glass make the phone feel so nice
Im hoping someone does a video comparison of the tru glass versus the spigen nano slim. The spigen is 0.23 mm and the truglass is 0.25mm. However I do not believe the spigen protector is flexible like the truglass. I'm sure that helps make it shatterproof if it truly is glass. Because it is soo flexible it makes me think its plastic and not glass. They do have flexible glass screens on phones nowadays but it is technology that is just hitting the market so I would suspect if this were truly glass and this flexible it would cost more than the spigen but it is cheaper !!
The rounded spigen nano is still not out yet so there is still some time for people to get this one and test it out.....cant wait to see the results. One more major thing I'm hoping to get with either one of these glass screen protectors is true smudge proof/oil resistance. That is the most important feature to me...so which ever one is more oleophobic is the one I want.

Who here has a spigen is 0.23 mm nano slim?
By that logic, the gorilla glass screens used on all phones and tablets costs $20+ to make? That's more than the cost of the processors in our devices.

I am sure the price is lower as this is a new brand for them.

Glass screen protectors do tend to cost a lot more than regular screen protectors. I have never used a Cruzerlite screen protector but their cases do have good reviews, Hopefully this screen protector is good as well.

oh my bad I haven't used a screen protector in about 5 years. But 2 weeks into having my HTC One I got 2 huge scratches in the center of the screen. I hate screen protectors, because I love the natural feel of my screen. but when I get my Nexus 5 I'm definitely getting a glass screen protector. I presume these screen protectors work well with their cases.

The Mime glass protector is pretty smudge/fingerprint proof, for me. I just get dust on it, which wipes away with my hand.

Sorry to hear about your phone. I'm really looking forward to the Spigen Nano series though.

Is it is flexible or tempered glass?

It moved a little bit and had some flex to it. It definitely is a rigid piece of glass though. I think it flexes more because of the thinness of the glass piece.
Just got this today in the mail

OK guys so I placed this Tru Glass protector and it is awesome, I had a SPIGEN Glass TR on my phone before I put this one (glass tr is the one that has the issues), its super slim just like the Glass Nano TR, it feels great to the touch feels just like the naked screen.
It was easy to put on no bubbles or anything like that.
So I really recommend this protector its awesome, its cheaper than the SPIGEN protectors and in my own opinion its as high quality as the SPIGEN brand.

Ehi guys, which screen protector do you use?
I've got Mediadevil cristal clear. Not bad, but it's not oleophobic at all. Do you know a good oleophobic screen protector? Thank you!
I'm fairly sure the Spigen GLAS series of protectors are oleophobic, as well as the Obliq Zeiss Oleophobic one. Neither of these are as good as the screen but they work well. I have the Obliq one and I love it,

Thank you for your input man, it's my first day with the awesome Nexus 5!
The Spigen GLAS tempered glass screen protectors do have some oleophobic properties, but it still gathers fingerprints quite easily (I have this on my N5). I've also used a Clarivue Anti-Glare screen protector that was also oleophobic, and while it worked for a while the surface started to rub off and was clearly worn out after several months of use, especially around where the keyboard is.
No oleophobic screen protector is perfect (obviously) and be cautious of those that will wear out after some use. And obviously it reduces the screen quality in some cases. Just food for thought.
I use this. It has oleophobic coat like on gorilla glass, but seems to attract some dust in my pocket unlike non-oleophobic screen protectors..

@gnufabio sorry for the off post but would it be any possibility for you to add the tf101 parts to the op so that we can use them without the server?
I just finished installing a Nillkin H+ Tempered Glass Screen Protector. It also has the oleophobic coating (pretty much all tempered glass screen protectors have it, if they want to be rated 9H) and it seems to be working quite well.
The good thing about this one is it has the nice rounded edges and is ~$25 - $30 cheaper than the Spigen. Spigen is charging way too much for what you get. Their glass screen protectors are not worth $40.
Just read through these though, and decide what is best for you.

Just adding a comment that the Nillkin tempered glass oleophoic coating works quite well for me. I have had it for a couple months now, and no complaints. Basically Stock feel (on glass) and I'd say the coating is better than stock screen.

Can anyone recommend Oleophobic kits?

Thank you for the link but I'm trying to see if any users have first hand experience with them. I found a couple on Amazon but want to see if they are actually worth buying. I might have to be the tester if anything.
