Hello xda fellas!
Am looking for the best headphones for the galaxy nexus but first i want to ask is it worth it to buy such headphones on a mere smartphone? Is it gonna make any major difference between it and the stock headphones?
If yes then what do you suggest me to buy??? Ive heard about the sennheiser HD650, what do you think about it???
Oh one more thing, what is external DAC?? Does galaxy nexus support it??is it gonna make any difference in sound quality??
I'm thinking to buy SMS audio
It's worth getting a decent pair of sound isolating headphones. I currently use ultimate ears but also have a pair of Sennheiser's which are great (and cheaper!)

Earphones or headphones?
I have some Sennheiser earphones for my Creative Zen X-Fi so I use them. They make everything sound better and you can pick a pair up for £30-50.

Headphones but i may think about earphones.
May i ask what is sms audio???

Does anyone know whether the Klipsch Control app that ships with their S4A IEMs is compatible with the Nexus Galaxy? I know there were issues with the GSII.
Thanks!

I actually think stock earphones are quite good. Do you have the phone already? If not I would wait and test the stock ones before spending even more money. If you have Nexus already then I'm just curious what you don't like about them?
I like the stock earphones but i wanted to take it to the next level to see if those expensive ear/headphones really worth it or not
What's your budget? I would recommended Sennheiser IE8s to anyone that's willing to listen excellent for the price

I have beats solo's and they dont seem to be no where near as loud as they are on my iPhone.. Pretty gutted about it to be honest
the Galaxy Nexus can drive my AIAIAI TMA-1 headphones brilliantly. The Nexus S wasn't able to push them very well, but the Galaxy Nexus sounds great with these headphones.
For the record, these headphones have 40mm drivers.

You can't get wrong with IE8. Been using one since last year & the quality is the best that I've ever come across.
skull candy ,,,,,,,,,the sound from them pure quality,
I can recommend this one.
Sennheiser HD25-1 II
They are very clear and exact. They give you out what you put in. So nothing for low quality files.
Sure from a design point of few they are not awesome but the sound is very good.
The good thing about them is that they have a very good isolation so if you're using the public transport a lot you will love them.
Another good point is that you can easily replace every single piece and they are very adjustable so it fits nice to your head.
I just got bob Marley ear buds from stapes for 40 bucks and they sound awesome I have skull candies but they always fall out of my ears

Which country?
I didn't know that there was an option to do this, outside the special edititions in Taiwan and the free bundled headphones for the first 5000 (I think) Vodafone UK pre-orders.
I'm also going to go ahead and say this before anyone else: you can almost certainly get better bang for the buck with headphones that aren't made by Beats. Just do your research.
i will be buying this one
http://www.amazon.com/Beats-Tour-In-Ear-Headphone-Monster/dp/B002EL4RI4
No, it isn't worth it. Sorry but to be brutally honest, any monster offering (besides turbine in ears) is terrible sound quality and build quality for the price. If you want to look cool and hip, then be my guest and get the beats. If you want a real pair of headphones, then look beyond beats and into some real audio companies (audio technica, beyerdynamic, etc).

Have to agree Beats are all image and no quality
Where can i pre-order it? (HTC ONE X PREMIUM SET) With worldwide shipping obviusly...
not me... not worth it
I already have a pair of Beat's Solo Product Red headphones but my question is will the HTC One X work with the inline remote on them? Will I be able to turn the volume up\down and pause\skip music as well?? Currently on my Galaxy Nexus the volume up\down does not and never did work :-(
Cheers,
M
Nope get yourself a quality headset: Vsonic GR07, JVC FXT90, Yamaha EP100, Sony EX600s, etc etc. GR07 is an excellent headset. But I guess all these may be wasted on the phone is the DAC is not all that!
Beats enhancer is ok and does a lot better then other sound enhancers imho. However, I tested beats pro with Sensation XE along with Razer Megalodons and honestly, Razer nailed it and costs about a $120 less.

I think Beats is not worth it at all. HTC is cool, but not beats.
However, Deluxe edition seems already on Asian Market.
Isn't it only $60 USD more to get the deluxe edition?
If so, I would buy it. Beats Solo sell for $150 alone, if anything, you can make some extra cash reselling them.
I have some replica beats studios i brought from china. They are basically identical to the real ones and are even detected as beats headphones by my mates sensation.
I paid £25 for them which is a bargain for their sound quality, buy i certainly wouldnt pay what you have to. Get some denon overears, klipsch or cheap shures for good value

I need headphones that will blow my ears out.AND NO BEATS.IM ON A BUDGET OF 33$!

Search for these Sony headphones on eBay, Amazon, and other etailers... MDR-EX210B and MDR-EX58V. These are great and I've used them for a couple of years already, they change the model numbers and design every now and then but the audio drivers that they use are the same and they're great. I've had Sennheisers and several of the great SkullCandy ones like the Titan series, so I vouch for these Sony earbuds. These fits your budget too
Heh. Any ol' headphones will do ya good. I got some 5-10 dollar headphones from a store not far from where I live.
If you use HTC Sense, you will have extended music enhancers. In CM, you have DSP Manager.
In all rights, it all doesn't matter, most are loud. Unless you have a low playing song.
I will look into the ideas so far but keep em' coming!
I personally used and recommend the brand Skullcandy.
Skullcandy Metal and Skullcandy 50/50 (currently own).
both with great sounds, bass. it will blow you away!
I think Sennheiser CX-300 II is a good choice for you.
It sounds balanced and its sound quality is a lot better than others of the same price.

depends what kind of music u listen too, if u want treble skull candy is a bad choice, but its base is good, dont go by brand names go by quality and the features,
check the frequency,
i own 2 headphones
skull candy smoking buds(no treble at all)
panasonic sports gear (awesome heaven)
btw if ur wondering
bass= the sound of the instruments
treble= the sound of the vocals
ok.....so i wen and view in a techmarket some headphones and i tried some and ended up buying the pioneer se-mj721 , and i have to say for not being an in-ear but on-ear they have a hell of a bass lvl. Im glad i bought em the only downside is they dont provide noise cancellation as the in-ear type!
never the less im REALY GLAD OF THEM!
This thread may be closed now unless someone wishes to ask for advice like i did!
Skull candy or AKG!

No one has mentioned the jvc fx101's yet? Lol they have the most bass compared to every other headphone for under 20$.
Audiophiles highly recommend this headphones and I myself own a pair of jvc fx3x's and they blow me away. Bass is comparable and way more compared to beats. Sometimes if you stay reallt still you can feel the bass in your chest XD
I also recommend using poweramp as your player with these headphones because they bass is so immense and crazy that my volume has to be turned down.
You can find these headphones online or at future shop which is where i got them. Anyways consider the jvc's if you want equivalent and better sounding bass than beats for 1/10 the price

Im sorry man but Skullcandy is one of the worst headphone brands. They buy noname crummy chinese headphones slap their branding on them and sell them for a profit. I have tried 4 different versions and they all sound terrible and the build quality sucks. Dont waste your money.

That is your opinion, I've compared beats to skull candy side by side and personally for the price and the customer support I get from skullcandy I would take them over beats any day. Now to your comment on them buying knock off headphones and putting their logo on it, do you have any proof of this? If you have only used there 20$ head phones yes, they are cheap, built cheap, and not meant to last 10 years. I personally got the SkullCandy Titans and adore them. The speakers can handle any type of music I push through them and, being that the buds are made of metal they last a very long time. The best part is, if anything happens to them, like one side stops working, skullcandy will replace your headset for free. It is a very easy process to get them replaced too.

Dude you compare skullcandy to beats both of which are overpriced and not nearly as good as other brands. I'm sorry but I am an audiophile, have been for years. I have extensive audio systems at home and in my car, so I know what I am talking about.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/470384/skullcandy
This is THE forum for sound quality, so if they say they suck then they suck. Sorry man, but it's great that you are pleased by their headphones, keep buying them. Also I have owned a set of Titans, I friend gave them to me last year and they are terrible. One of the headphones has lower volume than the other and compared to even my low end set of Sony's they are trash.
With Beats and Skullcandy you are paying for the name and nothing more. Anyone who knows anything about audio will not buy either of these brands. I personally have studio grado headphones and they trounce anything else I have tried. Sure they might not look as good as the others, but they sound immensely better.
I'm sorry but you shouldn't have to replace your headphones. The only time I have ever had my earbuds break is when I tear the cord, the brands I buy have never had one of them go out. That is a sign of shoddy construction.

Shures are great for sound quality but not for bass, so if that is what you are looking for then you might want to try Sennheiser or Ultimate Ears (though they are owned by Logitech now and may not be built as well) or Sony. FIIO amps are good, but be careful where you buy it from because there are crummy knockoffs out there being sold as the real deal.
Klipsch is good too, just check out the Head-fi forums and look for what you want in the sound. Many headphones sound good, but don't have enough bass for people's taste.

Hi guys, i've been using the headphones that come with the One since i got them, but they mysteriously stopped working yesterday. I think i may have accidentally damaged the cables, anyways.... I was wondering if anyone had any good headphones they could suggest for under $100. I'll vouch for them... I've owned every set of Klipsch headphones and they all are better than any headphones you'll get with a phone. The only ones I'd recommend against are the low-end over-the-ear armature units they made on their first batch back in 2008.
I bought a pair of Yamaha EPH-30WH when they were on sale for $22.
Combined with Beats Audio they sound amazing! The bass is right where it needs to be, everything is so clear and I'm starting to notice instruments and effects and details in songs I just haven't been able to hear with my previous ones. Read the reviews on amazong:

Yes, they're very expensive BUT
sound quality is really good. Compared to the stock HTC headphones that came with the One and UrBeats (I got both with my One), well... The htc and urbeats sound very dull, even though these are pretty darn good headphones too I hear people say. I gave the UrBeats to my sis whose headphones broke and kept on listening with my Tours happily. They have released a tours 2.0 though, so I'm a bit outdated now
(they also released beats studio 2.0)
I've also heard great things about V-Moda

The best head phones I ever bought are the incipio f38's. You can pick them up on amazon for about 30 bucks. You won't find anything under 100 bucks that performs like them.
Beats headsets are not worth the money. You are just paying to give dr dre free advertising with that big ugly logo on the side. Children in korea or China made them at a cost of 20 bucks max they do sound good but not for what you pay for them. Im rocking sonix 3s headset they are the best ear buds I have ever had they match the htc one style perfect too.

Hi thanks man, ive done a bit of research and they look pretty good.
I've been trying out a variety of earbuds lately with my HTC One and between the Sony MH1C, V Moda Remix and Munitio Billets, I'll say I'm very happy with the Sony buds. The clarity of the frequency range(1 Hz-20kHz) is very nice, well-controlled and works for a variety of genres and it's one of the few earbuds/headsets where I've not heard that annoying static/hiss during quieter parts of songs. All three of those earbuds go for around $30-40, but the MH1C I was only able to get for that price at Negri, otherwise they go for $80 direct from Sony.
Beats headphones are garbage. They leak sound like crazy and all they focus on is bass. The clarity is terrible.

3rd party compatibility
Has anybody experienced issues where 3rd party (cheap) headphones don't work properly?
I have tried about 4 different ones, and with all of them there are problems. One of them skips tracks and adjusts volume when you wiggle the jack plug, others register single click as a go back to previous track.
Only the ones that came with the phone work correctly in all areas, but i have got audio coming out of only one side so need to replace them.
Got some official ones ordered from the site, but they were £30. Is this a common issue with the HTC one? Or could my phone be damaged?
Thank you.
i've tested Sony and Bose from two friends for a week, after i decided that my beats makes me happier
