Hello, I have this Sprint phone with a carrier in Mexico (Iusacell), voice and data work fine. The rom is the Stock FE16 (ICS 4.0.4) however, whenever I restart or shutdown the phone, the timezone is set back to CST-04:00 (Eastern Standard Time)
Anyway to fix this?

Hi guys,
I usually don't create topics because there is already a lot of solutions to my problems if I search well, but this time I'm really stuck since 10 days, I don't know if it's a hardware problem.
I bought my galaxy nexus GSM version in January, I leave in Frane, I had some randoms data drops (1 per day) but I just needed to toggle airplane mode to get it back.
I never unlocked or rooted my phone (since the problem)
Here is what's happening. My phone only get network when I'm home. I turned off the wifi on my nexus, still have network, unplug my internet box, still have network.
So I go for a walk to see if it's still work, I just need to go downstairs and my phone loose the network. Impossible to call or be called. Toggling airplane mode do nothing. I tried to put another sim card (in fact 3 differents sim card from different mobile provider), not working. When I go back home, reboot nexus, everything works fini. I'm trying everyday to understand why my phone only works at my home.
Baseband : I9250XXLA2
Android : 4.0.4 IMM76I
Kernel : 3.0.8 franco kernel Milestone 4
What i did :
Reboot phone and take off battery/sim when the network is lost.
Bought another sim card
Rooted my phone and instal rom (AOKP Build 39, APEX)
Flash kernel (Franco kernel milestone 4, Fugu mod)
Flash baseband (XXKL1)
Changed ril with getRIL
Factory reset, wipe cache/data, wipe dalvik cache
I swear my phone is not fallen on the floor and did nothing wrong to get this problem
My nexus is going for warranty on Wednesday. If you guys have any ideas, or anything I did not already tried, do not hesitate!
Thanks!
Hello,
I have different problem. My Gnex is suffering random signal drops when my phone is on 3g network. On 2g network everything is fine.
Like you, I tried a lot of thing. Root, flash different roms, kernels, radios. Download getril, matched radio etc. Also tried to unroot and flash 4.0.2 stock rom. Nothing changed. Today, I went to Samsung service a they flashed new Samsung kernel... still the same.
So please, someone help us about problems that we suffer.
Thanks.

Hi:
I installed the AOKP (Jellybean) ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684
on my Telus (Canada) S3 SGH-I747M and I could not get the LTE/4G like I always got at home.
If I flash back the stock ROM then 4G/LTE came back. I checked the APN settings after installing the AOKP and it looks the same as the APN settings in the stock ROM. Please advise me how to get 4G/LTE on this rom or is there any Jellybean rom out there that I can get 4G on my Telus S3 ?
Other issue that I didn't like is that at times I had to press multiple times on the HOME button on my phone to wake up the phone, none of this issue happens on the stock rom.
Thanks

The only workaround I have found is to dial *#*#4636#*#* in the phone dialer and then going to phone information and selecting LTE only. For some reason it defaults to WCDMA.
I am currently researching some other info on this issue.
If you select LTE only you will not be able to make or receive calls. LTE is data only. You should choose GSM/LTE. The problem is in AOKP this setting resets after a reboot, so you have to do it every time you reboot your phone. The home button is a known issue, they're working on it.

I also have this issue but when i enter that in phone dialer it said "unfortunately the function has stopped"
At this time last night (even less than 12 hours ago), my phone was all fine and dandy, and reception was where it supposed to be. Now I can't get any form of Data, and no SMS messages are going through. I bought this phone at the end of August and I am currently using the AOKP Jellybean Milestone 1 (problem persists on stock ROM). I've tried pretty much everything I can find, short of bringing in the phone to a Rogers outlet... I'm pretty much at the end of my wits here. Help?
EDIT: As of right now I'm running some Emergency bull**** on Kies.
EDIT2: which failed.
EDIT3: I should probably note that I'm using Rogers.

Didn't work.
I'm also having issues with data drop! The network signal will be full and sometime when I wake the phone , there's no data connection.. Also happens when I answer the phone ...network mode is set to LTE/GSM/WCDMA running AOKP MILESTONE 1 JB... also I updated to the latest baseband and still having issues... It doesn't happen all the time but its happening enough to bug me! Any help is appreciated!
And forgot to mention when I reboot the phone I get the "restricted access change" and the clock resets to a different time... I have to go to settings and click on the automatic thingy for the time... And then it resets
Hello everyone, please excuse my noobness. I have spent two days now searching and trying to solve my issue, but no luck. Here are the series of events:
1. rooted i747 and got cwm 5.5
2. flashed liquidsmooth with cwm 5.5 and gapps
3. everything was fine (i think)
4. i tried to flash cm 10.1 with cwm 5.5 not realizing i needed 6.x and the flash failed
5. restored to my liquidsmooth back up
6. realized my imei was 0 at this point and no cell signal
7. used odin 3.07 to flash back to stock 4.1.1 rom from samsung
8. injected my imei using NV items reader writer method
After this sequence of events, regardless of the rom (stock, cm, liquidsmooth), my modem connects to LTE and is fine while i'm using it, but then after idling for 20 mins or more is on GPRS. Sometimes it has no data connection whatsoever. If i go to airplane mode and then come back out of airplane mode it will find the LTE tower and be fine again until I leave it alone or use it for more than 20 minutes.
I am using the correct APN (phone or pta on ATT)
my IMEI is correct under status in the about section in settings.
I have also done this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036891
i have also flashed my modem with this rom : I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_ATT (My baseband version is UCDLK3) from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
The issue isn't that I can not connect to HSPA+ or LTE ... the issue is I lose that connectivity after 20-30 minutes and can not gain it back unless I toggle airplane on and off.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I wanted to update this thread, in case others had the issue.
There was no solution that could be found. I ended up taking the phone in to ATT after resetting to factory defaults and resetting the flash counter. They replaced it and now on CM10.1.2 with normal functioning radio.
All of a sudden today I cannot send SMS.
I was on a really old build of Cyanogenmod12 (April 22nd I believe) as any time I tried to update to newer Nightly builds I lost all Sprint service could not make/receive calls or texts, etc.
I decided I was pretty fed up with CM12 so I decided to go ahead and migrate to AICP. I wiped everything TWICE in recovery, loaded up AICP and it works fine, I get LTE signal, etc. However I cannot SEND SMS, I can RECEIVE SMS I just cannot SEND. I had done some data restores with Titanium and I figured that somehow some way that might be messing with things. So I did another 100% fresh install after wiping everything.... I can send/receive calls, receive SMS but I cannot SEND SMS
I am really at a loss here guys, ANY help would be greatly appreciated

I stayed up all night last night working on this, let me update the thread with what I have done so far.
I was looking at some stockish ROMs and I noticed that there were warnings on some of them stating that you needed to have the Sprint OTA 5.0 update installed prior to flashing, which I actually never got. My phone came out of the box with Kit Kat and I never installed the 5.0 update, I went straight to CM12 5.0 instead. So I had a theory that there might possibly have been some sort of network data profile, etc or something out of that official 5.0 OTA that I never got that was somehow causing me problems. I decided to revert back to complete bone stock.
I wiped everything and flashed the N910PVPU1BOB7 file (MD5 = 7304e42cf0e241553d8db9e3c3eeed81) which was the official Sprint 5.0 OTA. Loaded it up, updated the PRL, Network Data Profile, etc, etc, etc.... everything works (relatively speaking...... TouchWiz sux balls of course). I have LTE signal, I can send/receive calls, I can send/receive SMS... all good.
So at this point I decided to re-wipe and flash AICP, with the emotion Kernel (latest builds on all). Load it up.... same problem as before. I have LTE signal (stronger than on the stock Sprint ROM), I can send/receive calls, I can receive SMS but I still CANNOT SEND SMS
I tried a few things at this point. I tried to manually reset the Sprint network connection on the phone by dialing ##72786#, this did not work, it returned an error "incorrect MIM code". I tried the *#*#4636*#*# that I have seen suggested in multiple places, this also did nothing, it returned an error "incorrect MIM code". I also noticed on the "mobile networks" tab, and this is true for BOTH CM12 and AICP, that it has the setting at "Global" by default and everything works with exception of sending SMS. Now when I click that tab it only has 3 options LTE, 3g, 2g.... for some reason "global" is not an option, neither is CDMA. Whenever I select LTE it automatically drops me from the Sprint network PERMANENTLY until the ROM is re-flashed there is no way to reverse this. I cannot even dial the manual programming codes "*#* etc" as it just simply says "no network service". If I try to automatically connect to the sprint network through the network operators tab it does in fact find Sprint as my provider, however if I click on Sprint to connect it processes for about 2-3 minutes and then simply returns an error of "cannot connect to the network at this time, please try again later". Again the only way to reverse this is to re-wipe and re-flash again which puts it into the unselectable "global" network setting by default where then I will have LTE signal, I can send/receive calls, and can receive SMS but not send SMS.
So that is where I am at, I stayed up all night last night wiping, flashing, and testing different things over and over. Nothing seems to work 100%, except the stock 5.0.1 OTA which is what I am on now. I really hate TouchWiz and for some reason I get a much weaker LTE signal on stock compared to either CM12 or AICP (I have no clue why this is). I am really at a loss here why everything works on the custom ROMs except for sending SMS..... willing to try almost anything to go back to a custom ROM.
Let me know if you guys have any other ideas.
Well great news I have finally resolved the SMS send issue

pbedard had tried to help me with the above post (which I appreciate, thank you), and I have seen the same advice in other threads. One slight problem though, he slightly mistyped the manual programming code it is actually *#*#4636#*#* not *#*#4636*#*# which I had tried entering ohhhhh I dont know 30 times? :silly: And it always returned an "invalid MMI code".
I had tried everything and after spending a full day on TouchWiz I was determined to fix the issue so I could go back to a custom ROM. I was even manually creating and deleting APNs, etc. Nothing would work. Right as I was about to finally give up (after literally 12hrs of researching the issue and testing fixes) I was reading the official CM 12 thread and came across the "fixes" post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57613217&postcount=3
Because I had tried entering the manual programming code so many times I happened to notice that the last 4 key strokes were not what I had been entering. I entered the correct programming code, boom the Phone Info menu pops right up I follow the directions and what do you know send SMS finally works .... wow what a relief, I am on the latest AICP release on the emotion Kernel and everything works like a charm.
Also by setting the phone to LTE/CDMA through the manual programming menu I have the strongest LTE signal by far, full 100% bars at all times (I live right next to a Sprint tower). I have never understood why I only got 1-2 bars on the stock ROM and 3-4bars on CM12/AICP through the default settings. Anyway thanks for help and I will list out exactly what I did to get it working.
- 100% Stock ROM
- CF Auto Root and TWRP install through Odin
- Reboot to recovery
- Wipe Dalvik cache, system , data, and cache
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash emotion kernel (optional)
- Flash latest AICP build (or custom ROM of your choice)
- Flash latest stock Gapps
- Reboot system
- Confirm Google Messenger is the default SMS app (it will already be if you flashed 5.1 stock Gapps)
- Dial *#*#4636#*#* ("Testing" menu screen will pop up, select "Phone Information")
- Scroll down to "Set preferred network type" click it and scroll up and set it to "CDMA auto (PRL)"
- Wait until 3G signal comes online (takes about 10 seconds)
- Change "preferred network type" to " LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)"
- It should take another 10 seconds for LTE signal to come online and you should be good to go to send and receive SMS ! :good:
