Hi guys,
After a long day and a full ash tray, I've my wildfire s rooted, I've got some experience with what is going around but I'm so much enthusiastic to try new roms (I'm still on my 2.3.5 stock) or even customize my sense with some MODs (I'd love to remove that bottom bar that has "phone" and "apps"...may be edit how many pages in the home screens).
I'd be more than happy to know your thoughts...
last question, how can I know from the rom name that it supports arabic for example ? are there any nomenclature rules unified ?

So you're looking for ROM recommendations?
It all depends on what you like. I'm not very much a sense liker - I find it too cluttered, slow, and I feel as if I'm fighting with the UI just to get simple tasks done. I use CyanogenMod 9, it's got some awesome features and deep customisation features.
What I'd recommend is that you take the time to give a sense 3.5, CM9, CM7 and MIUI ROM a 24hr trial run. That should be more than enough time to figure out which ROM you feel is best for you, and what you'd enjoy
Thank you dudeman for the recommendations, you assured my thoughts...
I'm still looking for a way to understand how nomenclature goes

Hey guys,
I'm quite bored of CM7...
I was jus wondering if there is a stable and fully functional rom for wildfire with sense 3.0 or 3.5..??
I could seriously use some help.. n I guess there are many others wanting something like this..!!
Pls help..!!
yeah i'm looking for something similar
same here, unless CM9 come to wildfire
Can you please search the forums first and then post such questions.. there are number of post regarding this already for which the answer is there is no stable Rom for your requirements.

Sorry no Sense 3.0 for Wildfire as the device fails to meet the roms requirements..Sense 3.5 development for Wildfire was started but was discontinued as devs r busy with ICS..Try Sense 2.1 by Vigidroid

I'd say its the other way round, sense 3 runs fine (it was just never intended for a wildfire) so I'd say the rom doesn't meet the requirements of my device.

Hi
I am new to rooting to my phone and would like to know if any roms that supports traditional Chinese and Korean?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I guess that the MIUI ROMS support that...considering they are made by devs who are originated in china and all.
You can find the version for our phone in their site here
Hope it helps.
Edit: I don't know if it supports korean. Also MIUI is fairly heavy on the phone. If I find myself some time and no-one has already replied, I might be able to look it up.
Thanks for the reply, is there a leedroid Rom for the HTC Desire Z?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I'm not aware of Leedroid for Desire Z. However, if you do not require a chinese UI, only the ability to read and write Chinese, then any ROM will have this ability.
For input you may need to supplement it with the likes of multilang keyboard for chinese input, if you choose to go with a non-sense RoM. Many sense ROMs will have the HTC chinese input method intact.
If you are a Mandarin speaker I'd suggest Google PinYin method anyways since its one of the best, and supports both tradition and simplified chinese.

MIUI has been made by japanese third-party devs. also i like RCMIX3D 4.0 ROM. and i thought that it also supports chinese and japanese.android 2.3.5 sense 3.5 download: http://uploading.com/files/7c69c9c7/RCMix3D_v4.0.zip/
I am in favor of the MIUI..great interface, stable and great performance.
Just regarding about overclocking the processor, would some of the time include the application to do this? I don't really need the Chinese input. I would maybe go and try out a few different roms as I have just downgraded to 2.2 and rooted the phone.

You might try Andromadus if you're looking for bleeding edge. So far, its the smoothest and most capable ice cream sandwich build available. You can find it under the desire z/g2 rom development section, and I'll edit this post to include a link later. Or if you prefer a more stable, established rom try CyanogenMod 7.1 from CyanogenMod.com. both will support Chinese among other default languages, and are both far more capable than the stock sense rom and both include OC as well. Hope this helps..

Hi all,
I'm back and would like your input on good roms. I have been using Virtuous Quattro RC3 for sometime but I just don't like how the graphical glitches make me have to reboot my phone several times a day. I would like to use an ics rom.

I would HIGHLY recommend Ice Cold Sandwich, the homescreen is actually smooth and seems to be running at 60 FPS. It also has HEAPS of tweaks because it's based on AOKP. Give it a shot if you really want ICS.
Well, if u know chinese, u can go to the bbs.gfan.com to have to look at their rom. Although most of them are originally from xda, they may give u some different experience. U should check it out

Unless youre sold on the UI of ICS id give one of the Sense 4 roms a spin (taz's for example) theyre actually stupidly stable and smooth!

I would definitely try the MIUI roms. They're great!
I think Sense 4.0 is a disappointment. Tried it on my Desire Z and it's not what I expected. The stock Android is much faster and better.
The MIUI ROM's absolutely don't work for me... Found them very laggy, but it does have some great functionalities.
I just use JIBwich, a stock Android ROM as it is on the Galaxy Nexus.

I would very strongly recomend the ILWT CM7 build (available under the development section). You will never want to move away. Atleast that has been the case with me, after trying sense and miui, I found home with this one.
Its fast, issue free, pretty optimized (although got further optimization you can use v6, akmo or rmp) and is pretty frequently updated (generally on every major CM build).
Been using it for almost a few months and can't even think of moving, not to any ICS either (personally, don't like the virtual keys always on screen on the ICS).
Hope it helps - cheers!

I flashed to that rom. I really miss how the the suggestions for the keyboard in ics. Im glad to back on a fully functional on-screen keyboard that doesn't lag. I was using the unofficial cyanogen mod 9. It had issues here and there. I kind of miss ics for its looks.

HI Guyz,
I am not a dev. So please pardon me if i am wrong. When i visited a mobile shop to get a new mobile for my cousin,
1. I saw HTC Explorer , which in configuration is wayyyyyyy below desire. But i was awestruck with the smoothness of it. The appdrawer, swiping between homescreens, widgets etc. but i cannot have the same smoothness even with the official sense 1.9 ? Why is that ?
2. I saw HTC Desire C which is based on 600 MHz Cortex-A5. WTF. ? It has ICS. I can sense that ICS will be very laggy in the handset but my question is how this weak chipset has fully functional ICS and Sense 4.0 ? I still feel HTC Desire is very powerful and capable enough to run ICS. !!
Thanks,
Karthik
I'm running nikez ICS and it is very smooth - does not have sense though.

You could try to download desire c rom, change all "desire c" string to "desire" and see if it works...
lol, it's not so simple to port a rom, it's a different architecture of chip, different screen resolution, different drivers... etc etc...
Like if you run a game on a quadcore with full resolution and the same on a pentium4 with 640x480.. do you understand a little?
I think that the progress in ICS and JB is fantastitc, so appreciate the dev's work and don't pretend too much.

Thanks for your reply and please dont be obnoxious when you reply to someone. Its not that I doubt the devs. What i am trying to say is when a 600 mhz powered device can run ICS, why not ours (out of the box. just with minor tweaks) like transition from Froyo to GB. ?? I was totally upset to see ICS in Desire C rather than mine. I hope we will have fully functional ics/jb not without our excellent devs. !!

Ok, the fact is also that desire c has htc's drivers, our desire hwa was written from scratch by evervolv team, so it isn't an official released properly functioning.
It's correlated with the problem that cyanogenmod don't support it for cm9.
There are a few different ICS roms that work really well and smoothly for the Desire. BCM is based on CM9 but nikez rom and sandvolds rom are not. The only problem I have encountered is video playback issues which can be solved my using mx or rockplayer. Otherwise imo the desire ICS roms are quicker than GB. The devs have done a great job porting these to desire.

Wait... I believe that who tried mildwild 4.3 can say that is quicker, faster (maybe not smoother) rom for desire. With the option of choosing where to put apk and data of each app (if in internal or ext) I can open frequently used app in a second, camera Miui app is perfect and it has no bugs. The only benefits that I saw in ICS was running heavy games with good frame rate (the same game is laggy in GB) and using 4.0+ apps. But so far I found ics and jb rom slower (repeat I mean opening apps and overall quickness). Btw the job by evervolv team and nikez is fantastic and I guess that JB development will go furrher and better than ics

Yes.ICS in not completely developed yet and lots of modications are being made and may be the ics version you are using is a bit buggy.that can be a possible reason

Since Shaky stop developing his Sense 4.0 ROM, this side of the HTC desire development has stopped. The ROM, though in alpha, was working brilliantly well. Everything was smooth, and there were many thing working. Why did shaky stop? That build has so much potential. I really hope that he is still developing his rom in secret, so that he makes a "surprise stable full version" release.

I didn't even notice that Shaky deleted his XDA account. I'm a bit worried about him. What happened?
So, if shaky stopped developing, does that mean that the Desire will never get a full version of the 4.0 Sense, even if it can run it very smoothly?
Begging the devs won't help...
I want this port so much that I'm willing to take Linux classes and to port it myself.
Sooo, is any developer kind and willing enough to continue shaky's work? I know this sounds like begging, but many Desire users really want the 4.0 Sense.
To prevent noobish spamming, like shaky had, devs could just release a full version when it's done.
Please XDA Devs, make our dreams come true.
