I think with the cost of the white housing and the screen, you're better off just buying a new white s2.

I found it for $180 and I bought the phone for $140. I don't think I can find a cheap white one for $320.

Atleast I haven't seen one on CL that cheap.

I've seen them for 300 brand new guess all depends on where your at. Just replace the screen and swap with someone hat has a white one

To answer your question, yes it is easy. Especially if you get the new frame as well as screen. It is just a matter of switching over the circuit boards and speakers. I am doing it as well right now with a phone i have with broken screen. Google t989 disassembly and you will find some step by step pictures and maybe a video or two. Don't forget to get the white back as well.

Good luck! I haven't found screens for sale for this phone only the digitizer. As far as turning the whole housing white you would have to paint it, I think your better off putting a skinomi white skin rather than painting it if you screw up there is no going back and there goes your DVP.

Here is the one I found
eBay

That is good. It means that the screen, digitizer, capacitive buttons are all installed in the shell. All you do is transfer over your motherboard and other components. It is a good buy..

Assuming you bought a LCD screen, check out http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-HTC-Evo-4G-LCD-Panel/3083/1
If you intend to say that you bought a screen protector, the product you bought should have come with some instructions. Or just use google.
No I bought the digitizer screen

Cracked screen options?

What do you guys think I can do I want another nexus only got 15$ I'm pocket how do my options look?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
If you only have 15 dollars then get a screen protector. That's really your only option if that's your budget. Now if you've had the phone for less than 30 days you can add square trade to it for 99.99

Found that out with my ns4g when truck ran over it 2 months after having it and I took it apart. Craziest thing tho...a large portion of glass is straight gone and it still lights up just can't see anything but lines and a slight green tint and computer sees it if plug into usb. Before my current phone (gnex) came out cheapest could find screen for it was $175. Not i think saw for a hundred. It's been sitting in drawer. Hope my gnex doesn't break and don't want to know how much for screen.

Need glass replacement

Anybody got one or know a cheap place to get one? I wanna spend 50 or less, just ain't got the money for much more

Just the glass? Yeah you can find it pretty cheap but who's doing the replacement itself? Samsung will do it for $160 including the glass. It's dicey doing it yourself though...

True. Yeah I've seen the glass for my gsm model going for 15 on eBay. But I though glass and LCD are connected, meaning I would have to soughter the parts back together? Anyone have any more info on this?

They are not connected. A heat gun separates the glass.

I would check out this thread.
Also, notice that the author of that thread updated it to say he doesn't recommend it after a long-term test.

Don't try to change only the glass, the lcd screen is very atached to it and you can't do it, a friend of my alos had to sell the motherborad after the unsecsfull operation. It's just my opinion....
I just replaced the screen and digitizer on mine. I purchased the replacement from eBay for about $130. I watched a YouTube video on how to take the phone apart. It was very easy to do.

Cracked LCD but glass is OK.

I have a epic 4g touch the LCD is cracked but the glass is okay. Looking to fix it myself any idea on where to get parts from?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Same happened to me man I was gonna do that too but the screens at the time were like $180-$200 and samsung will fix the fone for ~$160 try ebay and amazon tho under "epic 4g touch digitizer" (or "lcd screen")
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Thanks I'll give eBay a try. Was hoping that it would be less than 100 bucks. Lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
If I remember correctly... The digitizer and the glass are pretty much one piece.
I know the unit is usually sold as one unit. Just an fyi.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
So what should I be looking for a "digitizer" or "LCD screen" just trying to narrow my search down. Thanks in advance. Also do you think its worth to fix it?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Either keyword should get you to the same thing. like the other guy said there mostly sold as a single unit
Mostly its just that some sellers use "digitizer" and some use "lcd screen" in there title descriptions:beer::beer:

There are plenty of videos of people repairing their s iii digitizers. I don't think it is that much more different then the s ii screens. To get the screen and material just type in "710 digitizer sprint" our you could leave out sprint. Either way you are going to need a hot air gun or a blow dryer and a steady hand.
sounds like a lot more of a hassle than I thought. Not sure if its worth it .

I revived my replacement and I just saw the dust speck under my glass screen and was appalled and utterly depressed... Any way to getting rid of it instead of asking for a new one
