I got working for the Mytouch 4g and wanted to share with the community. I used the Wifi Calling files from the Sensation CM9 Nightly thread. I just had to remove the libhtc_ril.so from the WifiCallingICSAOSP.zip from the original thread since it killed the data signal. I got it working by replacing it with the libhtc_ril.so from the CM9 vision port i'm currently using. I uploaded the WifiCallingICSAOSP.zip without the libhtc_ril.so so it doesn't replace the one in your roms. ENJOY!!
All thanks goes to the devs in the Sensation and Vision community that got wifi calling working on AOSP/CM9/AOKP Roms.
EDIT: After a reboot, I lost data signal. Wifi calling is working, but data without wifi isn't. I'm gonna try to find the cause to this bug. I'll post a fix when I get it working.
WARNING: Using might cause data signal to not work. Please post results and let me know how's it working for you all.

The WiFi calling works great, but as soon as WiFi is turned off and you're relying on network, it's a no go for me.
Wrt 0.0 - Even after pushing GanOptimizer.apk to system/app and wiping cache/rebooting - I get data signal loss
Wrt mic213 - Same thing using the 2nd way method.

Weird, I didn't have the issue. Can you check under preferences and see what you have selected? I use wifi preferred, because I used to have data issues on cm7 as well. I found that selecting "wifi only" caused the phone to not pick up mobile data when I left wifi.

I'm using the Dark Unicorn AOKP and I can't find this preference (I know where it's been before, but I'm not sure that's it's available as a selection here).
Changed the permissions on gan apk and still the same issue.
In the WiFi calling app, go to menu>settings >connection preferences
0.o's files are working great on AOKP Black Uni!
Been waiting for this for a while.

This build was edited by me (mainly for my personal use), based off of Zips Creamed Glacier's 3.11 release, but contains fixes I pulled from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1.
I don't normally start dev threads, so bare with me (I'm no dev)
What's new:
- Practically everything that's included in Zips Creamed Glacier 3.11 - includes, FFC unlock, Working games (Draw Something does work!), mdj's kernel and so forth.
- I fixed the weather/geolocation issues found in 3.11
- I fixed the USB mount issue in 3.11 (you couldn't mount as a mass storage device while the phone was on [gave you two options that didn't work])
- I fixed the full signal bars issue (reported full bars at all times you'd have service)
- Also included the romcontrol.apk from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1 and the settings.apk (for those who wanted ROM control settings but had to use the widget shortcuts to use them, you no longer have to as it's included in the settings)
- Replaced the systemui.apk with IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1's (you can haz 4g icons!)
- Replaced Trebuchet with Apex Launcher (This was part of my personal liking, Apex Launcher is the best ICS launcher IMO, try it out)
- May be forgetting something else...
All of the fixes mentioned above were fixed by pulling their respective files from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1
* Don't ask any of the devs for wifi calling, as it's assumed to not work until T-Mo updates wifi calling for ICS (which should be whenever a T-Mo phone officially has ICS) or unless a dev performs some sort of magic ritual and get it working and stable

and those also to those mentioned in their thanks lists (tell me who I forgot to mention and I'll add you here)

Basically all that you would find in zips' build, I think the only app I took out was trebuchet and the only app I added was apexlauncher. If not, I can fix them later.
For the low mic issues, I didn't put those in my zip, but I can post the link to the fix in my OP.

This is a development thread. If you don't have something to contribute other than 'i hope this works' or 'thanks!', just hit the 'thanks' button. Let's keep this thread clear so that we can get some work done.
Here is the thought:
We all know that the implementation of wifi calling for the t989 is done through a new method.
HOWEVER, this should not preclude the possibility of getting the old (app) method of wifi calling working.
If it can work on the hd2, a non-android device, there is at least a chance we can implement it here.
----
I have started by looking at the implementation on ICS for the sensation.

I have so far been able to get the rom to boot after flashing, and am getting as far as the 'did you know that you can make calls through wifi?' pop-up when first connecting to a network.
However, it is crashing upon opening the app.
I am in the process of taking apart the zips and taking a look at the various changes (build.prop, amongst others) that the zips are making to the system. I assume we would need to build them for a touchwiz rom rather than either of the above implementations....i'll hopefully put in a few hours tonight to see what happens.
Anyone else who wants to tackle this, help would be appreciated. PM me for my gtalk info.

Only issue I have is no signal or data after flashing this..
Its likely because the on off toggle and related settings are knit into the tmo Settings.apk

I just added the libraries to the build prop to see if it would work if it knew where they were. I would say its probably an apk thing.
its probably not going to work with out ims-service.apk you guys are missing that. since this is the service that connects to the Tmo voip server
There's more to it than that as well, I believe.
I also see traces of it in the ICS leak...although my eyes may be deceiving me.
As soon as I get back to my home computer I'll try to dig in...I may pass out first though

do "logcat *:E" it will only output errors and fatal errors. so its not full of shyte no one needs.

I wasnt sure if the original wificall.apk needed it but since I changed that to the one on the t989 2.3.6 I guess it doesnt need it. I was going to eliminate it once the rest was working and pare it down to the necessary parts. I did take it out of script which prevented the signal from getting killed by the script.

I looked into that actually and for a while did not realize that the OP mentioned using the old Kineto system.
T989 has some specific Wifi-Calling instructions in libaudio.so....so unless we can work around that (haven't truly attempted yet) we may be SOL on using the T989 WifiCalling
A while ago, I downloaded a nandroid someone posted from their T-Mobile Galaxy Note II to see if I could pick it apart for wi-fi calling, but I don't use it so I can't really test it and I lost interest. Now, I've packaged up the Wifi Calling app with all of the libs it came with and added in the build.prop from the zip. It might be a lot more than what is needed, but I don't want to have to keep uploading bits and pieces. If you think you have an idea of what you're doing and want to try it out, go for it. I don't really know much about wi-fi calling at all so unless you have some sort of logcat, I'll be of little to no use to you at all. I guess that's about it...
You can use the ics wi-fi calling package to help you out by possibly using it as a reference/using parts/etc.
FOUND HERE
And here is what I've extracted from that 1GB+ package.

Let us know what you find and good luck

Hm... by the looks of it, it would seem that these are only settings for Wi-Fi calling. So it would seem that you'd have to mod the settings apk to have the option for WiFi calling settings. :/ I'll look into elgins (CM10) source sometime to see if I can add it in. If I can at least get the app starting somewhere, it will be easier for everyone else to debug/fix it up. If anyone has messed with the note 2 and can confirm that WiFi calling is accessed via settings and not launcher (app) that would be helpful as well.

I'm thinking the setting could be added in way that is similar to this:
https://github.com/SyNtheticNightma...mmit/bfac7c05daab9f6294f7419ea6173c4a1c569092
Though I don't know the exact name of the package for the wi-fi calling settings... I'd need to decompile it to find that out (unless you know another way, I'm not too familiar with apks). I could also try whipping up an icon for this if you need one.

Sorry for a late reply (haven't had the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889) so long...
Wifi Calling settings are located under Settings / More settings /
And includes two items: Wi-Fi Calling (this is to enable/disable with a check box), and, Wi-Fi Calling Settings (This offers Connection Preferences [Wi-Fi Preferred / Wi-Fi Only / Cellular Preferred}, and, Help)
For reference, the above menu structure/selections are based on Stock F/W 4.1.1, Build Number JRO03C.T889UVALL4
Is this still a work in progress or has it died?
it sure died.. adding wifi calling to JB has been a task for over a year..no dev has been able ot make this work...so sad.

[Mod/Fix]THE AT&T LTE Fix ver2.0 AT&T LTE, SMS, MMS Flashable Solution (4/2/13)
I guess I'll post the AT&T LTE Fix that I created a while back in its own thread since it has been very useful for everyone. I had originally posted in the Synergy and GalaxyMod threads to solve the AT&T LTE problems users were having with the Multi-Carrier ROMS. But it appears that more dev's are utilizing the Multi-Carrier format, so I'm sure this will be useful for many additional users.
I have updated the original zip I created to include the most recent files for even better LTE performance and a dedicated AT&T LTE APN. I also added the GPS config file that should help those that are having slow GPS locks.
THE AT&T LTE Fix version 2.0 (4/2/13)
As always, flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible, in any way, for what you flash, copy, fiddle with, poke, molest or otherwise screw with on your phone....
***THIS IS FOR USA AT&T SGH-I747 GALAXY S III USERS ONLY***
I highly recommend flashing this after a fresh install of a ROM or at least Factory Reset and Wipe Cache/Davik on an existing ROM
BACKUP YOUR ROM AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING!
Instructions:
1 - Reboot into recovery
2 - Make a backup/nandroid
3 - Factory Reset/Wipe Cache/Davik
4 - Flash AT&T LTE Fix ver2.0 zip file you just downloaded
5 - Reboot and enjoy.
Download Flashable Zip Here:http://www.mediafire.com/?85ir1gd2h3c7t6f
This fix may be regional based and not work for everyone. If you have LTE/Phone/SMS/MMS problems on stock based ROM's, then this will not help you - that is an AT&T issue in your area.
Once again, THANK THE DEVELOPERS OF THE ROM's! They were the masterminds that allowed us to enjoy some incredible ROM's on our devices. This is just a fix for AT&T users that are in LTE zones - allowing the Inbound/Outbound Phone Calls, SMS, MMS and blazing LTE data to work.
One thing...... I've noticed a few users upload my previous zip (ver 1.0) to their dropbox or other file sharing sites and claim it as their own....this is shady..... don't be a leach...... I'm happy to help and provide any assistance when I can, but I do NOT tolerate plagiarism of any kind. I know if you copy my stuff, so don't bother. Just copy and paste the link above and everyone's happy!

Yes sir, another rom. 4.1.2 also. Looking forward to given it a flash. Thanks
Also are we to understand that this fix can be used on any odex or deodex multi carrier roms? Does it write to the apn settings?

Correct - does not matter if ROM is Odex/DeOdex. It does have an updated APN config file that contains the correct AT&T LTE APN, but it will not replace your existing APN if you already have one set up (unless you do a "factory reset" before flashing the fix.

yes, it works perfect. got LTE too...I have been flashing those roms since the beginning, but you could not edit the apn, then I seen this tool and tried it, it injects the att apn perfect. So those roms work perfect for me, it may not for others, wifi/data/gps all run smooth, what else would I need.
You can flash any of the roms, just DO NOT do your email setup until after the rom has been completely installed, at first boot you will get FC on playstore over and over, so you have to be quick, I have a few tools that I flash before the rom is booted, just use root explorer push a playstore apk from one of the att roms, then setup your email, and bingo, everything runs perfect.
my wife is running a sprint rom on her att, and it has been running perfect now for months. so why wait for a rom to be ported over, I didn't want to wait, I am no dev, but it did not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to cheat the system. My motto has always been, if man made it, I am going to beat it.
Hmmm....all this did was delete all my APN's. I'm on CM 10.0.0 Stable
Anyone care to tell me the settings so I can at least get a signal again?

Why would you run this file if you already had att apn settings in cm10?
Just asking?
Search for att apn it is everywhere.
Sorry to hear that.

arshull, you may want to warn everyone that this deletes all existing apn settings, and adds just at&t settings. Just trying to help.
Ya know, in your op. I already knew the file would delete the settings, but others may not. Still, great work. Thanks

BTW - Can't wait until you get your rom posted, looking forward to it.

Yes, it was quite clear it would delete the settings. That was not hard to understand...I expected that. I also expected it to inject new settings.
The reason I was interested in overwriting my settings is because I have been on many different ROMs and had recently had issues with my APN settings. I had 3 different ones that all seemed to work to varying degrees, almost seemingly needing to switch every month.
I know the ATT APN is out there a million different places, there is also a million different versions of that ATT APN floating around as well. I assumed that this package probably does more than just regurgitate those settings and therefore asked what specific ones it set in the phones it had been flashed in.
But instead of helping me on that level....you decided to play Gestapo and not only ask questions that aren't helpful, but answer questions that weren't being asked.
Regardless, obviously I wasn't blaming the OP and maker of this issue...no one else seems to have had this problem and I eventually got up and going again by clean flashing a new rom....

good luck
Good job on releasing this, I'm sure it will help a lot of people.
Just wanted to say that this replaces the features.xml which is a place where a lot of tweaks occur. It looks like you've included most of them, but there are still a few missing (One I can see is increasing joinable contacts). So if a rom says anything about CSC edits and you flash this over, it MIGHT break some of them.
fix
When this correct the 4g lte problem where the calls don't show sometimes and sms come real late?

Yes, that is correct. I tried to include as many CSC mods/options that I've routinely seen or used (which are verified & stable). Anyone that uses a new custom feature that requires CSC modding will need to simply add that in the CSC file. But this should give a very good base w/ most features included.
Thanks

I assumed that everyone would wipe data/factory reset that it was a given your APN's would be replaced. For those that don't, this will replace your APN file and replace with the correct LTE apn settings - which fixes some problems regarding incorrect APN's/problems. This was intentional and helps way more often than hurts. Only those who are not following the instructions will be effected by the apn replacement.
Thanks for the fix, anyway to change the icon images back to the stock lte,4g icons

That is dependant on the specific ROM and how they have the icons classified/named in the systemui.apk.

Stickey this thread
Works like a charm. Out the box had a problem with WiFi and made me reluctant to get back flashing. Of course on first flash I lose data. Dirty flashed hours ago with no problems. Stick this at the TOP.:good:
Glad everyone is liking it! I think I'm going to create another zip that will have some addigional files and will allow you to flash any North American SG3 ROM and mod it for AT&T.
I've been flashing and running several Spint and Verizon ROMs lately and now know which files are needed to convert the CDMA function to GSM and get full use of all the i747 specific features.

After search for a two months.. I found a 4G Wireless tether that works on this 4.2.2 ROM. Have not test on any other rom but should work.
Download is on link below. Uninstall any versions of WiFi tether that you have installed. Select the profile as Epic 4G Touch..
It should work after then...

Definately a HUGE find. I think we just take for granted that Devs would be on top of things and have something like this baked into their ROMs, not realizing how much time goes into devlopoing a ROM and that they have enough on their plate already.
This is why I love xda and the community. People helping people. Sharing is caring!
I'm on SlimBean 4.2.2 build 6. The package downloaded to my phone as a .man file, but it downloaded to my PC as a .apk file, so I used AirDroid to install it on my phone. I changed the device profile to Samsung Epic 4G touch, checked encryption, added an 8-character passphrase, and set an SSID. I started tethering with no errors; however 4g disconnected. I went back to settings and checked Wifi driver reload, and now I can tether with 4g service running (I did a speedtest on my laptop to confirm that I was tethering at 4g speeds).
Downloaded and changed file extension to .apk and installed. Thanks

I actually tested this in a 4G area and yes it does work with minimal setting configuration...
Be master of mind rather than mastered by mind.
I looked into this for a person on slim bean build 6 with p_4 lz kernel that had lost 4g hotspot when he flashed p_4..I didn't even realize that I had the same problem on build 7 with p_4..lol.So Im looking around and find this..wow..Thanks a ton..Works with just a little tweaking...reload and reload 2 checked..and away we go...lmao:fingers-crossed:
Working,
Working for me on AOKP 4.2.2 , thanks ... :good::good::good:
Hi all, if someone have a mirror for this "wifi-tether-gnex-4.2.2.apk" I would be very happy...
