Hi guys.
Whenever I boot into my Hboot, I get this message.
There's nothing on my Sd-card and don't believe I've put a -diag.zip on it, only pd89img.zip
Any ideas? I can't really enter recovery if anything goes wrong

Is it in the root of your ad card I.e. not in any folder?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA
Its suppose to say that. It scans for 4 different files. It will fail to find anything-normal- then you select recovery
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA
There's no pdxxxx.zips anywhere on the SD-card.
It doesn't get past the search. It keeps searching forever. Should maybe have added that Hehe

v5 is busted. Beyond having to reboot once before you're able to access it via RM, it's trashed a few systems (mine included), won't let some power off (they reboot instead), etc.
I'd suggest rolling back to the last stable version until the bugs get worked out.

Thanks guys. I think it worked now as suggested above

So I probably made some enormous stupid mistake.
Have rooted unbranded hox that didnt install ota (returned to clockwork recovery) and used this instead:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035203
Installed without errors, and updated without errors, but stuck at boot screen.
Wont come back to recovery with volume down either.
Didnt read the thread as well as I should have and now I need help figuring out how to access recovery!

Yes and no. That was where I made a brilliant noob mistake. Now that I can access recovery I can just update bootloader and be on my way?
Where can I find dootloader update file?

Make sure that you have v5.8.4.0 cwm recovery.
In recovery go to mounts and storage, then mount usb storage and connect usb cable to computer.

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Working on it. Will update boot.img and try again.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda premium
Will give up and go to sleep.
1. have accessed recovery without problems.
2. have flashed boot.img from the official rom via pc
3. have installed official rom via recovery
4. still stuck at loading screen
and
1. have tried using boot tool
2. locking (unrooting) goes ok
3. ruu starts up ok
4. cant install because of low batt.
have left phone in recovery to load battery over night.
is there anything else im doing wrong?

Finally...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQasxRPopSM
My problem was partially low battery and partially my phone not accepting update to hboot (probably due to low battery)
It didnt load enough in clockwork so I had to leave it on the "script" for a day...
Tnahx to those who helped!
Hi All.
Hoping someone can help a relative newbie.
About 3 months ago I upgraded to a Galaxy S3 and gave my Desire Z to my girlfriend. Before doing so I flashed it with virtuous rom and wiped everything.
It's been working fine until a few days ago when it started reacting slowly to screen touches then continuing to react, ie she would start scrolling a list and nothing would happen, and then all of a sudden it'd start scrolling and not stop despite the fact that she had stopped touching the screen.
She pulled the battery and rebooted and it seemed fine.
Then yesterday it was ok and all of a sudden it tried to reboot.. Since then it has failed to boot, instead getting stuck on a white HTC screen for a bit, then the screen goes blank, and it vibrates and comes back to the HTC screen.
If I pull the battery then hold volume of and power it will boot into hboot, flash up some text and then sit on the hboot screen.
At the top is the following.
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMmc-boot
Now, I'm hoping I might be able to get it working again but could do with some guidance.
Is it a case of reflashing the rom by sticking it on the sd card and going into the hboot and flashing from there?
If not, then how do I go about it?
Any help very, very much appreciated!

Just take out the SD Card and make back-up of it and Format it hardly ( Fill with zeros ) and also you need to flash a new kernel and a swap enabler.
when you finish formatting the sd card make 128 Mb of swap partition and put the sd card back on.
then find the rom u are using and open that zip file and take out the " boot.img " file and flash it directly via fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Click to collapse
this means you just flashed your kernel.
And this should work for you.

This won't help.
Also, seeing as you're S-OFF, you won't ever need to fastboot flash a kernel, recovery can manage that just fine.

Just had a look through the thread about recovering a desire Z, I'm a bit confuzzled by it all, the there is so much information in it.
Am I right in thinking that the situation I am in is that I have s-off and engineer recovery installed?
So in theory just wiping and reflashing my rom should be ok?
Should there be an option to install from sd card or something like that, or will I need to do it via abd?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
More than likely it is a software issue but there could be more. Best bet is to just wipe clean and flash a ROM via recovery
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
That's pretty much as I thought, and to do that is a case of wiping then sticking rom on memory card and it should let me install from the recovery, something like install from sd or something isn't it?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Same way you did the last one

Just having a quick look at this, when I select recovery from the hboot menu the phone just goes to the same white HTC screen and stays there until I pull the battery. Would this be because I don't have the rom on the SD card yet or is it that the recovery won't load?
If it's a problem with the recovery, can I just bung PC10IMG.zip back on the sd card to reinstall recovery and go from there?
Possibly, but often that's a sign of a fried emmc, it could be other things though. Can you post all the information I ask for

R: [Q] Missing PK76DIAG.zip during HBOOT
Nobody has that file. When you go to hboot it will keep saying missing file bla bla. Don't look at that, it doesn't matter
The reason I'm asking is because when I try to flash recovery it won't recognize my device so I did a little research and i found that it had to do something with that file not being found

Connect the phone in fastboot mode, go to computer - >manage - >there should be a device with our driver. Right click on it, update driver and locate it manually in htc sync folder

Replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip. You need to find the actual zip yourself.

this is bootanimation, he wants to change splash screen which is displayed before the ROM starts to boot.
One way is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632001
The other way is to place some smartly named img in SD root and flash it from bootloader (use search).
And note you do need the ENG S-OFF, i've not been able to flash a splash without the engineering s-off&Hboot

Do you already have the file you want to flash? You have to flash it in the PD98IMG.zip way. Check this out.
