Hi, question...
Is there a way to set Youtube to stream at 320p, cause by default it picks the HD option, i have terribly slow internet at home so it takes forever to load

You're talking about the YouTube app, right? Go to settings, general and look at the box that says "High quality on mobile". If it's unchecked, leave it that way. If not, uncheck it. Basically, it will start videos in their default lowest quality.
You mean 360p/480p? But yeah, uncheck the option as stated. If not, uncheck it at the start of every video.

Thanks for the reply guys but i've already unchecked that option, and soon as i open a video the hd icon on the left side still lights up
any other way? Youtube options are extremely limited
That's strange. I don't know of any other setting to correct that. Perhaps try, clearing the cache and user data, uninstalling all updates and reinstall them. If nothing works, then just uncheck the HQ or HD box at the start of every video.

I gave up on the youtube app, even if i deselect the HD option it still loads painfully slow, right now i watch youtube through the mobile site using Gnex's browser

You said you are at home, right, are you then on Wi-Fi too?
I wonder if the app knows your on Wi-Fi and defaults to HQ?

Funny how the blogs posted a article today saying the skype app was updated to include video calling on many phones including the incredible S. however, I didn't see the 2. I thought thye were nearly the same phones? does it make sense why they would release it on the S and not the dinc2?
From the app description in the market:
Some notes:
If you're using Android 2.2 (Froyo) or greater on a device not listed in the What's New section, you should still be able to enable video calling in Skype settings. Please note that video call quality may not be as good as on a certified device.
On Android 2.2 (Froyo), only the back camera will work. This is because only devices running Android OS 2.3 or higher allow apps to access the front facing camera.
If the setting to enable video calling is not available in the Skype Settings on your device that means video calling is not yet supported on your phone.

I tested this on my own inc 2 and it worked with no real issues whatsoever.

i have 2.3.3 on my phone, GB OTA update. no root. my phone has skype 2.1.0.46 on it right now, and i'm not seeing anywhere for video. When you got it working, is it just mobile to mobile video, or can you do a mobile to desktop video?

I tested with mobile-to-desktop.
Make sure you're using the Skype from the market and not the pre-loaded one named Skype for Verizon. Go into the settings and the last section is labeled "Video calls." There should be an option that says "Enable video calling." I had to manually enable it.

well IMAGINE that... i just had to go to settings to enable the video call. it gave me some warnign message, but let me enable it. i did just try my dinc2 to my macbook, didn't work, but im going to try with another mobile. when chatting with the macbook, on the dinc2 it lets me click the video button, but it goes to a black screen for a second, then comes back to the menu, so its probably crashing the program on the phone... probably cause its chatting with a mac

My girlfriend has a Macbook Pro and the first time we tried it, it wouldn't let her enable video on her side but she could see me. The next time we tried it worked perfectly and has been ever since.
Well I claim to be pretty good with phones and its not often i`m stumped on stuff like this.
I really need help though? My Nexus keeps talking to me!!
Its only on the web and some other web based apps like youtube. It will read out the letters as i`m typing into Google. It will read whole web pages to me too.
I have gone through the settings many times over. Def checked that Talkback was off. I have no idea whats making it do it.
My last Nexus did it too so I know its not a faulty handet.
Maybe an app I installed or a setting I just dont know about?
Anyone know what it is???
Take a look at accessibility. Its probably something there. Or your phone is possessed.

I noticed once I setup my google account it downloaded all my Market apps. Could you have a 3rd party app loaded which was downloaded to your last Nexus and current device which is reading the text outloud?
If you weren't sure, you could post up your list of 3rd party apps and I'm sure somebody might be able to recognize the issue?
Also, does it always happen on specific web pages or on all different web sites? perhaps you could record it and post up as somebody might recognize the voice pattern or web pages it reads?
Trying to gather more information in hopes of getting a more specific solution. Throwing out ideas .. hope that helps!

Mm true could be an app thats come across from my last Nexus. Is there an easy way to list all my apps? I have over 100 of them.
All web pages and some apps. It doesnt always speak either!
I`m trying to get it to say something it says when using some apps. I think it says "play" but i`m not too sure as I have my volume turned right down as the speaking is annoying me now...
Ok here is a video of it in the eBay app and on the net.
See what you think??

I`m sorry I dont know any other way of sharing a video.
Here is a YouTube link for my video to make it easier to view.

hmm,did you restart your phone after you turned off your setting's?
also try uninstalling all apps reboot and see if it still happens.
or do a factory reset and dont let the market download any thing.

Thanks but this wont help me find whats causing it only eradicate the issue.
I know doing this will fix it but it will come back.
I want to know whats making it happen really.
Cheers anyway.
Perhaps narrow your search down to apps you think might do this. Many apps will obviously not.

you must have accidently enable this.
its a feature of ICS. take a look.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnw8vh9y36Q&feature=player_embedded
unfortunately, i am not sure how to turn it off.
I HAD THIS ISSUE!
Drove me around the bend blurting out everything I went near on the net!
i spent about 2 hours clicking round , retracing steps, reclicking on things...suddenly it stopped.
Only thing I remember doing was opening up default.prop file in viewer out of curiosity so I did this again as well as other things and it stopped. Have you been viewing or even tinkering with any system files?
If this doesnt help try:
Go into your apps list and disable the TalkBack inbuilt app. That may mitigate the problem.

This accessibility part has something called talkback in which is turned off on mine. So not sure what else in there would cause it. ??

Ok I have disabled TalkBack app. No joy
I have not done anything to any files. Like i say it did this on my last Nexus so i`m guessing it may be an app i have installed.
Just wondering if its caused by Lightflow. That is the only app that asks for accessibilty on my phone.
Might try uninstalling.
Thanks for your suggestions anyway.
I spoke to Samsung last night and they went through some settings then said my handset is faulty!
I know its not and i arent changing it again, this is my 3rd one already!!
I had the same issue just from turning Talkback on and off... Like I really want to hear the time everytime I hit the power button ffs. I think it's fixed now (*touch wood*) but I had to screw around in the settings turning it off repeatedly to get it to stop working...
Did you just get your phone? I had the same issue when I got mine too. This wasn't just on webpages or YouTube app. This was EVERYWHERE. If I opened the app drawer, it would be like "launcher" or if I swiped to a different homescreen, it would say "screen 2" or something. I went to accessibility in the settings and turned off "Talkback". The phone stopped reading stuff to me after that.
Lmaooo!

I have been using Skype since day 1 and use it constantly. I have never seen that behavior. COuple things I would try:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Skype -> Clear data (also clear cache)
Remove Skype and reinstall.
If still does not work, I would repeat the above, boot into recovery, wipe Dalvik (and perhaps cache as well) and the reinstall.
Usually, that steps above seem to always get rid of weird behavior for any misbehaving apps.
Thanks
Done that and not good.
Still the same...
I don't know, probably its that thing when screen goes off...after a while the data connection goes off...affects also gtalk and Gmail notifications...
Its strange ....

hi,
have you tried settings, wifi, the three little dots on the lower right, advanced, keep wifi on during sleep, ALWAYS ?
on ICS stock it worked fine, skype and everything else too stays logged in, push-messages get through. AOKP currently is still giving me the same problems you describe, though.
Yes I've tried that with Wi-Fi....also happens when I'm on 3G
Is there any option to able or disable data connection when screen goes off?
Check this

Hey XDA.
A couple of guys i know have a problem with their browser reading the text out loud in the adress bar, where the URL are.
The problem came after updating to 4.04, they haven't installed any new apps, neither did they use a dock.
Anyone else having this problem? Or a fix?
//reffer2
Sounds like you may have the "TalkBack" option turned on.
You can find this under: Settings > Accessibility (phone settings, not in your browser)
It is at the very top.
No. It's turned off
Try checking the accesability settings with the atachment featires being down right now i cant sopw you my settings but pm me and ill send a screenshot.
On the googlenexus channel at youtube theres a series of instructions on accesibility. Seems that when you start the device the first time and draw a rectangle on the screen it will activate the accesibility features for blind people.

Hey.
We figured out the app "light flow" was causing the troubles.
After uninstalling it, everthing worked flawless. We tried reinstalling it, and it still works.
So something must have went wrong, but it is working now
Im having big issues with the watch on app. And to make a long story short I deleted the app data of it to hopefully fix it but now I can only get to the pick your country screen and then I can't go ang further.

I can't help with your problem but I downloaded it as well. I like the remote control but since I downloaded it, freeandroidtv.com has become my default homepage. No matter what I do, when I go to the internet on the phone, it goes to androidtv. I can go to my homepage thru the menu, it is still listed as homepage. Aggravating.
