UPDATE:
Turns out my phone is not completely dead.
If I plug it into the computer, it registers a sound indicating a USB is connected,
but not more than 2 seconds later, it sounds again (the sounds of a USB error, Ba, dum, dum)
When I look at device manager, I see: Omap4440 quickly, but then it goes away. This recycles about 8 times and then it just stops.
I read that this might be due to the phone constantly rebooting.
The screen never turns on. I can't get into the bootloader since the screen is dead.
The only problem now is how can I go about this?
-----------------------
I had more than 90% battery because I just unplugged it. I did a reboot to clear any background apps (like restarting a computer, right?) and it just never came back on.
I placed it into my pocket for that minute while it was rebooting but I never watched as the screen went off. When I took it out of my pocket, it was a dead screen.
I already tried volume + power. And/also holding power itself for a while.
Plugging it back into the charger doesn't do a thing. No charge. Screen remains dead. No vibration is present to indicate the phone at least came on.
What is going on here?
My only conclusion is my jacket may have created a static field which caused a short when I pulled it out. Could this be possible? Especially since there are 3 contact points for the dock on the sides?
Using a GSM version if that matters.

try pulling the battery out for 3+minutes, then put it back in and try booting.
Sorry that happened to ya. I would plug it in and keep it plugged in for a solid hour, then try booting it up. I had that happen to me on a previous Android....HTC EVO. I was rooted and just died (even though it said it had plenty of battery). For some reason it lied and was actually out of juice bigtime.
Rooted custom ROMS have known bugs, albeit extremely minute bugs. Give it a try and report back.
Happens every now an then with most galaxy nexus users, battery pull always fixes it, no need to wait 3 minutes, out an straight back in works for me then hit power on button an you will get the vibe an boot.

yeah, i know what you mean because it has happened to me before plenty of times. But this, it's different. It's practically dead and all methods i've tried has not seem to work. I'm seriously out of ideas.
So it's been charging over night and the phone is still dead and wont turn on.
I've even replaced it with a spare battery which I know is at least 90% full.
Anyone? I'm so sad why my nexus just died like that.
rebump... =-( I am so that it just died with no reasons as to why... I've had zero problems with it!
You could attempt an OMAPFlash on it, then reload the factory image via fastboot.
That works for me about 90% of the time in GNex repair situations such as this.
Good luck.
Any water indicators showing water damage? If not, start contacting your provider / insurance / Samsung about a replacement.
Replacement man!

Simms is that you from the nexus s? If so, can't wait to see you uploading a quadrant shot of your next over clocked phone.
Op, plug it to a computer and check what happens. Otherwise call for a replacement.
Does this mean I will get a refurbish model? Can anyone quickly explain to me the process to get a new GN and the time it took for you to get your replacement?
If the power button itself is at fault, you can send a power on signal by plugging in the phone with no battery installed and then with the wire still plugged in insert the battery. This method requires no button input whatso ever
Edit , i used to do this by accident all the time while flashing htc devices. Not sure if samsungs hardware offers the same troubleshooting functionality and im not at a wire right now to test the theory. But its worth a shot.

I had something with these symptoms about 4 days into owning my phone.
The way I fixed it was booting into ODIN mode (vol down & power). The only way out of that one is also a battery pull.
Sorry: I meant to say: battery pull, ODIN, battery pull, then it turned on again normally.

I'll give this one a try. But I never thought a combination like that would revive a dead phone. I mean, it's dead as if it was just a children's toy with no electronic board inside. No power even though all 3 battery I tried have at least 90% charge. MY Charger is not defective as it works with my other phones.

Won't work since I can't even turn on the phone. Computer doesn't see it (Obviously because it can't power on).

Indicators show no water damage. This was in my pocket. Unless I pee'ed in my jacket, it shouldn't be wet there.
Thanks for the help guys, but I'm running out of ideas. There's only so much you can do with a phone that cannot turn on. =(

Basically, what you're seeing means the phone is still alive, but the firmware is corrupted.
Try this thread, and particularly this post.
No idea if it works or not.

Is this a hard brick or a soft brick?
This sounds like hardware failure to me. Drop the phone at all, ever? If not, could just be faulty hardware.
Honestly the Galaxy Nexus seems to be of poorer build quality (internals, screen, back cover, etc) than every other Android phone I've ever had. Not that I don't love my Nexus, just an observation.

Well this was scary... I installed the System Recovery app last night but after clicking "recovery boot" I just got the Motorola "M" logo and nothing else. Booting into recovery, I got the message "Battery low - Cannot program". Odd... there was about 80% charge left when I rebooted. Ah well, I let it sit in the charger overnight. This morning: "Battery low - Cannot program". Not good. After some googling I found out that I had two options:
1) Send it in for repair, claim that it just suddenly stopped booting. Cross my fingers they don't fix it and see it being rooted, running a custom rom with JIT, deodex, overclocking, undervolting and just about every single hack available for the Defy.
2) Go McGyver. This is what I did:
Get a USB cable, cut the off the B plug (the one that plugs into the device) and strip away the shielding, revealing the 4 individual wires inside: White, Green, Red and Black. Red is +5V DC and Black is ground. strip a few (1-2) mm's off each and gently push them into the + and - slots on the battery. Apply some tape to keep them in place, but don't cover the other connectors. Now plug the battery back in, a tight fit, but possible if you've peeled back the shielding and the white and green wires so that only Black and Red are actually being crammed in there with the battery.

Be VERY careful that the wires are ONLY touching their appropriate terminals. Otherwise you might fry your phone and/or make your battery explode. Red goes to the + terminal, Black goes to the - terminal
Plug the business end of the newly modded usb cable into your computer, thus allowing 5V DC to flow directly to your phone and battery. This is basically like jump leads for a car, but 5V and for a phone
Get the bootloader going (Volume up + power on) and you should now see a message along the lines of "ready to program, connect USB data cable". This is where you connect your phone to the micro USB cable you have lying around (Please tell me you didn't just kill that cable to make your USB jump leads) and connect the other end to your computer. Using RSD Lite, you should now be able to flash an SBF to the phone, and be on your merry way soon hereafter.
thanks dude, my defy was drivin me crazy with that.. got into a loop with no battery, right on first january, nowhere to find another batt.
glad it worked out, great job, i found nothing like this
Happy to help!
I did it at work, got a few curious questions as to what I was doing, but nobody seemed surprised to see me perform "open-wire surgery" on my cell phone, I guess they've gotten used to me by now...
OK, I did the same... Ran out of battery in the middle of the flash... System does not boot up, does not charge, does not leave bootloader because of corrupt flash...
Good thing I have a lab power supply (regulated, stabilized voltage from 3-30V) on my desk (don't ask ) and some nice clips to connect the power.
Some notes:
3V is enough to flash. (Battery was down to 2.5V, which is not enough)
5V (USB) might be a bit much (battery has 3.7V rating) - so don't leave it connected for too long...
Please don't connect the battery to this setup. Unregulated charging of Li-Ion/Li-Pol battery might result in fires!
Well, system restored, charging again! HAPPY!
Somehow I missed your post on this fix...but I had to do the same thing. Worked like a charm once I got the cables to stay in place.
Glad it worked out for you guys!

I used this and omg it saved my life! I had to use two different usb cabels cause the first time i cut the tip of the one that goes to the pc and when i realized what i did i felt so dumb, but was nervouse of the whole thing. But the second usb cable i did the right cut and i even felt like recording it cause i was sooo happy, but then realized that i was jump starting the phone/ camera lol. Thanx for ur method. If you check the EXIF data on the image in the OP, you'll see that it was shot with an iPhone 4 I borrowed from a co-worker. He said something like "I know how you Android guys love tweaking, modding and hacking but thats taking it a little too far, don't you think?" one question
hey guys,
one serious question,
did you flash from the boot loader while the hack (+,-) were connected?
so one hacked usb cable to +,-
another to the micro usb connector and googogog flash?
or did you waited for some time? half an hour? an hour? waited for some charge and then reflasheD?
thanks guys, stuck at white led, black screen-dead phone
thanks ))))
Alright XDA, checking if anyone else has got this issue?
Bought the galaxy nexus almost three weeks ago, everything was fine with the phone until last week thursday. My battery was running low so I decide to charge it, only to find that it wasn't charging. I took out the battery and put it back in, still wouldn't charge (or at least it didn't say it was charging). I left it in the charging plug whilst the phone was turned off, hit the power button and the black charging screen comes up. I turn it back on to see that the battery is at 44%, after being at 12% 5 minutes ago.
Anyway, ever since then the phone hasn't been charging right. I plug it into the charger, and it doesn't recognize that its charging, or maybe it actually isn't? It takes a while for it to recognize that it's plugged in, and takes a while to actually start charging. I unplug the phone after it's finished charging and is at 99%, only for the battery icon to display that it is still charging.... it's constantly changing from charging to not charging even though I'm not doing anything.
I got the battery indicator app and that would display that the battery has been discharging since say 1 o clock in the afternoon, yet I took it off the charger at 9 o clock in the morning,
Furthermore, I'm now trying to charge it through my computer and put some music on my phone, but my computer won't even recognize that anything is plugged in even though it is quite clearly charging through the computer. (have had to plug it in and out several times, and sometimes it'll recognize that its there...)
is the USB plug ****ed? should I just send it back? I would go to my provider to get a new one from them as I still have warranty and thing, but they will only accept returns within the first 7 days of purchase. Otherwise that leaves me with sending it to samsung which is my last resort because they'll probably take their sweet time getting the phone back to me and I'm going to leave the UK for 4 weeks next week and I really want to take my nexus with me instead of risking it not coming back before I leave.

Yes, I've tried the original charger, a blackberry charger, USB cable from original charger through computer, and another micro-usb cable. All have the same problem with recognizing that its plugged in/charging... And now funnily enough it's unplugged from my computer but it's still saying it's connected as a media device.
Don't power up or turn off samsung devices with the USB connected. It messes up the battery stats. I've had the same thing happen to me before on the Nexus S. Since then I learned not to do that on my phones.
I don't know anything about your other charging issues though.
edit: you could always try a factory reset (which will wipe the whole device) to make sure it is not software related.

Interesting about the Nexus S, trying to track back if I unplugged or powered up the phone with USB in...
I just tried factory reset - still showing up that the battery is charging even though it isn't plugged in
Hi, I have the same problem since the 7th of December, first i thought an app or some sync was eating up the battery (i updated G+ and facebook the previous day) but then I noticed that it was not charging, now my GN is dead. I manage to turn in on when is on the charger a couple of times but now not even that. (I have used several chargers and usb cables with no luck)
Did you manage to solve the issue? I sent mine today to Samsung after trying to get a replacement from Phones 4 u.
Possibly chip in battery is bad? Havent confirmed but supposedly we have fuel gauge chips.

Iv had this problem twice now.....
it wouldnt charge past 12%, it would not show the charging symbol.... i shut off the phone (it seems to charge while the phone is off).. after 5 minutes, i turned it on and the phone was at 65%?
I tried to tell the guy at the verizon store and he would not do anything about it unless he could see the problem happen.... this doesnt always happen and its annoying as hell...
im thinking it is a software issue since it charges fine while the phone is off...

I was looking for a cause/solution as to why my battery life reporting seems so erratic, I will definitely take this advice and see if this might be why. So it should be ok if I only connect and pull the charger with the phone already on? What if I plug the charger in with the phone completely off and then pull it before booting, is that alright too?
It's funny all the new rituals you need to learn to get around the quirks of a new device (like having to turn the screen off and then back on again after docking my Nexus One if I wanted the touchscreen to work right haha).
I've been having strange issues with my Galaxy Nexus and charging for the past few weeks - I can't seem to get it to charge over 50-60%. Also, whilst it's 'charging', the 'Battery' details page reports 'Discharging' or 'Not charging', even though there is a charging icon in the status bar?
I left it to charge for around 9-10 hours last night, off the mains charger, and it only got to ~45%...
...as I mentioned, whilst it is charging, it never reports that it's charging. The lock screen also suggests to 'Connect your charger'...
...charging whilst the handset is off still results in a half charge. I've tried many different chargers/cables with no luck.
Strangely, I used to be able to only charge the handset off of USB, to 100%, but I've now lost that 'work around' :-(.
I guess I'll phone Samsung returns and see what they say. I'll post their response, in-case anyone else hits this issue.
---------- Post added at 10:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:12 AM ----------
Looks like they're sending me a jiffy bag to return it to them...
hmmmm, sounds broken
Mine is charging OK.
My biggest problem is that even when I have my charger unplugged, the icon is still showing that it's charging.
Look at the screenshots, the battery level is going down the whole time because I'm not charging it but it's showing a bar for charging at the bottom.
And if you look at the time on the clock, a few minutes go by and it still says 38 seconds on battery.

Did you ever find a solution for this problem? I'm experiencing the same problem and am unsure whether to try and return the phone or send it in to samsung.
Nope
Have to back my phone up in the next few days and send it back for repair/replacement.
It takes ten days, but if you haven't sent it back by then, I'll let you know what they say the problem was.

Did any one found a solution for this problem?

If anyone experiencing this hasn't "starred" the issue on Google, please do so at the link above.
I have an LG Nitro and for some reason it stopped charging. The notification icon shows it as charging but the battery continues to go down. I tried buying another battery as I thought maybe the battery was going out but this was not the issue. So next, I ordered a charging port and attached (soldered) it to the device, this also did not resolve the issue. I am kind of at a loss at what to do as the phone is in perfect condition but will not take a charge. The Nitro is rooted with TWRP recovery and CM 10.1 installed on the device.
I now have a Nexus 4 but was planning on giving the Nitro to my cousin but then this started happening right before my Nexus arrived.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? All of the symptoms point to either a bad battery or charging port but this is obviously not the case.
Thanks
Also, if I plug the device in and hit the key, it shows the battery icon going up and down but it does not charge.
Come on, I know one of you has an idea as to what is happening
A few thoughts...
1. Are you using the official LG AC Adapter? If not, are you using an AC Adapter that's outputting AT LEAST 500mA? For me, in the car using GPS, even with a car adapter that outputs 1.0A, it can't keep up with charging the battery. It shows that it's charging, but the capacity continues to go down...
2. Are you using any kind of CPU under/over clocker? Like SetCPU? Check the settings and make sure you're not using some crazy profile, or better yet just uninstall it and test to see if things get better.
3. How about the USB Cable? Have you tried other cables to make sure you're not using a bad cable?
4. Double-check your solder work. Are you're connections clean, no globs or solder points covering more than a single pin? Connections are solid, nothing loose or gaps?
Good luck!

I do not think I have the charger that came with the p930 as it got stolen but I do have the charger from my Nexus 4. Do you think it will work? The N4 charger has 1200 milliamp output or should I order an OEM charger.
I think I used the charger from my HP Touchpad which is 2000mA but it didnt work. I may be mistaken.....
I will look into getting an OEM charger.
Might be charging...
Ok I made some progress finally!! I have a 700mA charger plugged in and now the LG logo comes on and then blinks off. :good:
Hopefully the battery is charging and by morning it will be working.
Wish me luck!!! :highfive:
Still blinking on and off. Any ideas?

I can get into download mode and would be able to get in to the twrp but I do not have a backup and my sdcard got corrupted.
What are my options now?
Thanks
The 1.2A from the Nexus4 is great. That should do nicely.
1. Are you ABSOLUTELY sure this adapter from the Nexus4 is working properly (have you verified that it's working fine with your Nexus4)? If so, then plug it into the Nitro.
2. If the Nitro is powered off, then when you first connect a power source, you should see the 'LG' logo come on for a second then go back off. After a minute you can short-press the power button and you 'should' see an animated battery icon that looks like it's filling up. The battery charging icon looks like this (lower quality image on the phone):

3. Let the phone charge for an hour. Now, press and hold the power button until you see the 'LG' logo, let go of the power button. The phone 'should' start powering on.
When you say 'Still blinking on and off', what is? If it's the soft-touch buttons on the bottom, that's an indicator that the battery is low...So, indeed the issue continues.

I mean the phone turns on, I see the LG logo and then it turns off. Then it turns back on and I see the LG logo and it turns off again. Make sense ?
I can get into Download mode just fine and would be able to get into TWRP but my sdcard crapped out.
I know about charging the device with the phone off (seeing the charging dialog) but the phone keeps turning off and back on blinking the LG logo.
If I still had TWRP on my sdcard, I could of went to the Factory Reset screen and went into TWRP and let it charge from there and then wipe it and install cm 10.1 again.
Is there anyway to load the recovery.img to the sdcard without being able to boot the phone? I am pretty sure I cannot use adb in Download mode so I am kind of stuck and I do not want to flash to stock if I can help it but I will if I have to.
I think its a hardware problem and your phone need to be repaired
I had a sony ericson p990 and had the same problem you said
The repairman told me he has exchanged some of transistors

I tend to agree with nss007, the constant fluctuation of the power/charging going on and off is a big red flag to hardware issues.

Well I actually took it to a cellphone repair company (only one in the area) and they had it for about a week and could not get it to charge. They also changed out the charging port and looked the board over. Of course, they were obviously not using the right charger as they could not even get the LG logo to come up. I am hoping that it is a software issue as the company could not find a single thing wrong with the phone or board. Of course, they mainly fix hardware (broken screens, charging ports, etc.) so I dunno how much experience they have with software.

A few months back, my Nitro fell off my table while the charger was attached. Ever since then, it is doing what you say; showing a charging icon but it actually isn't charging.
Just a few suggestions that I've learned over time dealing with this problem... When you are plugging it in, be sure it is setting where you intend for it to sit. Basically, don't plug it in THEN set it down. I've noticed that ANY movement whatsoever will knock the phone off charge but still show the charging animation/icon. This problem is completely independent of the state of the phone; i.e. what ROM I'm booted in to, whether or not I'm in recovery, and even with the device powered off.
How to tell if you are actually charging; open your settings and go to the battery settings. Where it normally says "Discharging" will change to "Charging (USB)" or "Charging (AC)" if you are actually charging. Even with the charger attached, any movement of the phone will almost instantly throw it into "Discharging" while still showing the animation/icon.
Hope any of this helps.
I need some help and stump and any resolution. I don't have a clue on what going on. This started today.
Basically, what is happening the phone is rebooting after successfully booting into OS ('m getting to my homescreen). The reboots will occur anywhere from five seconds to five minutes. Also, the phone connect's to Sprint service, but only not very long. I see the LTE indicator than nothing.
I've tried reflashing roms that were working over the last few days, which are CM11 nightlies for 8/6, 8/5, 8/4. I also flashed classic NE2, which was workig last week.
I'm not sure what happened, but I was on CM11 nightly for Aug 6, 2014 with Plasma Kernel 2.53. CPU set at 2.0, governor Performance. I set the charge input to 2.0 amps. Anyway, I was in the car, listening to SiriusXM on a Mini Jamebox. The phone froze. This had been occuring when driving the phone would freeze since I had it happen while on the road with MLB at Bat, and NFL Game Pass; i just assumed it had to deal with something when the phone was switching from 4G to 3G or vice versa. I didn't think anything about it. When I got to my destination, pulled the batter, rebooted phone. Fired up the SIriusXM app, phone rebooted; this has happened before, but not all the time. Now, the phone is booting, but before I could finish entering the lock screen PIN, phone rebooted, and keep rebooting.
I then did a full wiped as if going to install a new rom (factory resent in recovery) and reflashing CM11 8/6, but now it's in a boot loop at the CM logo screen. Same thing again, but flashed CM11 8/5, same thing. Tried it again, but left the phone, and after about three or four hours, phone was still on the CM logo. I then tried a factory reset but flashed the ME Classic. Had a lot of boot loops at Samsung and Android splash screens, Tried it again, but this time I got to the homepage, but no cell service. Tried it again, same result. Then I tried a reset and flashed CM 8/6 with GAPPS, no Plasma Kernel. Phone booted. But no reboots within about five minutes. Also, only connects to sprint briefly. I see LTE, then disappears.
The phone is charging, since at one point, it was down to 4%, but charged to 86% while I was napping.
I'm not sure what's going on since the problems seems to consistent on both TW and CM.
THe only thing I didn't try was doing a full restore, which I think puts the phone back to 4.1.2, and then rerooting or taking the OTA and rerooting.
Update 1
Well, I've been able to flash both TW Classic NE2 rom and CM11 8-6-14 roms and maintain sprint connection and no reboots. I didn't test the TW NE that much, because I flashed CM11. I would start setting up the rom with the apps I like, and how I like the phone setup. When I go to reboot, it ends up in boot loop around the Samsung splash screen, and thus not going pass bios.
I've been having trouble flashing the roms though. I'm using Philz Touch 6 ver 6.48.6 as recovery. I do full data/factory wipe (usually two or three times). Then try installing a rom. It starts installing, goes about an sixteenth of the process bar and then the phone reboots; and usually sticks on the Samsung Logo screen.
On a side note, I tried rebooting the phone after a factor reset, expecting some kind of message about no OS installed or booting back into recovery. Unfortunately, it just sticks on the Samsung Logo screen, except one time where it went back to recovery.
I don't have a clue what's going on with the phone.
Try using philz 6.07.9

Thanks for the replay. I actually was using that version before that. I was updated to the latest version because the phone was rebooting while trying to flash roms.
I tried changing the recovery to TWRP 2.7.1.0, but unfortunately the phone rebooted when it started flashing, so I don't think it finished flashing. I end up in boot loop at the Samsung Logo screen.
So, I odin NE2 Stock Restore tarball. It fixed the boot loop issue because it put in a working boot image. Unfortunately, no connection to Sprint. It's also rebooting too. I tried re-odining the firmware, but same result.
I'm downloading the official firmware from Samsung and going to try odining it. It's going to take about an hour to download. I may try using Odin 3.07 instead of 1.85
I'm just not sure what's going on. I'm thinking something with the hardware may have been damaged since, but not sure exactly how. The phone never got that hot. It got warm because of the display being on. The battery still holds a charge that lasts a while, but nowhere near like when it was new.
update 3:
I tried Odin 3.07 and the firmware from Samsung; this ended up being the same file as the NE2 stock recovery. No change.
The phone is doing some different behavior; don't know if new, but I'm noticing now nonetheless. I'm able to Odin the firmware. While still connected to the PC, the phone boots up. But will reboot within five minutes, usually within three minutes. If the phone is not connected the PC via USB cable, the phone will boot loop around the Samsung Logo. The battery currently has a 83% charge. If I connect the USB cable from the PC to the phone, it'll boot up. Still does the reboot later. Sometimes the phone doesn't reboot; it just shuts off and then shows battery charge display. If I have the USB connected, boot into phone, and then disconnect the USB cable, the phone immediately reboots. This also occurs if I disconnect on the Samsung Splash screen after the bios boot.
May be worth noting, the phone right now is completely stock on TW 4.4.2, non-rooted.
Update 4:
Not much more information. I'm still having the issue with the phone doing the boot loop with only battery power. I tried connecting the phone to the phone charger, and it stays on. If I pull the USB cord out, phone immediate reboots and goes into a boot loop.
I connected the phone to the home internet, and I'm I do have some Sprint service for phone. No data connect access.
I'm still using the firmware from Samsung, so completely stock with knox and unrooted.
I also tried the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591898, but did not work. Got a fail, and check failed on the phone.

Update 5:
I hooked the phone up the wall(AC) charger. The booted and stayed on for over two hours with no reboots. I had connection to the Sprint cell service, but no data connection.
I think I may have a bad battery since when I disconnected the phone from the charger, it immediately rebooted and went into boot loop. I'm not sure if I had a new battery if I will still get the reboot. I think the no data connect can be fixed. I have flashed roms after the initial issue and was able to get data connection.
spoke too soon. Overall, if plugged into a wall charger, the phone stays on with no reboots. But earlier today, I did have a some reboots after turning it on and it froze a couple times.
I'm not sure, but I'm thinking maybe the phone is going, or already is, going bad. I'm not sure how to check to confirm.
I was able to check to see how if the phone works off an external battery. I didn't work with a Durcell MyGrid. I thini it's has a 3.2A capacity and outputs 5V.500mha.
I tried with an Ander that has 10A compacity. I don't recall the output, but it has a swithc for 5V and 12V, and was on 12V. The phone was able to boot and stayed on. It did shut off when I call myself and hung up. I didn't thoroughly check it, but looks like the battery has gone bad.
On top of it, I have the phone plugged into the wall charger for the last twenty minutes and has not charged with the display on. it's remained at 95%.
Side question, anyone know if the NOte 3 battery is interchangable with the Note 2's? I have a coworker who is willing the switch batteries for a few minutes to see what happens between the phones.
I'm home in my normal stomping grounds. Apparently my phone can connect to LTE, but no 3G. Today, briefly, it said it was connected to 3G, but when I tried to use anything that was internet based, such as Google Play, nothing would connect. I'm not sure it that was because the area was congested, or the phone. I usually could connect, but it would be a little slow.

it sucks just order one from amazon for about 10 bucks. pretty cheap. and to answer your question no note 3 battery would not fit note 2. note 3 battery is a bit larger.

That was my thought as well. I googled to find out and apparently the Note 3 has four contact terminals versus the three of the Note 2.

Just order a replacement battery. You can even order an extended battery to give you that extra juice if you want XD
I replaced the OEM with an Anker 3100mAh battery. Phone now boots with no issues and stays on. I think it may be just a smidge small because if I toss the phone on, say a counter, it will shut off. No issues with power since I've been using it; it's only been a few days.
I'm still having issues with connecting to 3G. I think I need to reflash the modem because I tried reflashing when I was issues with the phone, and the phone rebooted in the middle to the flash. Thus, I need to root the phone, install a custom recovery so I can do what I think. Luckily for me, for the most part, I spend most of time in areas where I get LTE.

A small piece of paper wedged between bottom of battery and phone will help with that. Just trim to fit after you know it is tight.

won't connect to 3G
The title is slightly misleading Basically, the phone won't connect to 3G. It does here and there, but usually it only connects briefly. Enough to see the 3G indicated, but disconnects. Aftera few minutes of this, it will finally connect. The speeds are really slow, even for 3G.
I can connect to LTE with no problems. Speeds are where I expect and have experienced.
The phone use to swith to LTE and 3G with no problem. If I streaming a video, it would continue with no problem. The biggest issues, per se, it wouldn't switch back to LTE when I got back into a LTE area. Now, when I hit a non-LTE area, I lose data connection.
Plus, I've been getting a lot of 1G connections, where I was normally getting 3G.
I tried reflashing the NE2 modem, twice actually. No changes. I haven't been able to find much for any solutions. I'm currently running CM11
Hello.
I have Desire 820 dual sim. Three days ago, screen blacked out suddenly, phone poweered off. After that, the phone didn't power up.
I tried push a power button for 10 seconds or more, and volume up + power button, volume down + power button with similar way. Without charging or connect to computer with USB cable, no reaction has shown. When it is connected to power, orange led is blinking and does not power on.
When it is connected to computer, device is recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008(COM3). I found that is download mode for snapdragon SoC. I think flash memory is wiped out with unknown reason, and main board seems alive.
I searched the internet to revive this bricked phone, but I can't solve this problem. Even in xda developers.
Is there any solution I can do? I installed QPST package from Qualcomm which contains QFIL and etc. If I can install proper fastboot on this phone, it will revive. I bought this phone in Hong Kong, and I live in S.Korea now, there is no service center for HTC. Please help to revive my bricked 820. Thank you.
A similar situation just happen to me, the phone was ok, I got a voice chat and while hearing it the phone make a strange noise and went off. After a few seconds it came back up at the HTC logo, so I guessed it would boot back up and everything was going to be back to normal working conditions. To my surprise it didn’t happen that way. The phone was on a boot loop and I wasn’t able to go into fastboot, recovery or anything. Some minutes later the phone went off totally and it wasn’t turning back on. I plugged it to see if it was discharged and the orange led was just flashing, I leave it there for more than 30 min and the same thing was going on, flashing orange led, no power whatsoever.
What I did was to remove the device back cover, disconnect the battery cable from the main board for a few seconds and put it back. The phone first comes on normal and enter into android, but just of a sudden it start boot looping again. This time I was able to power it off and enter into bootloader to perform a factory reset. Once finished the phone seem to try entering into android but something happen during the boot process, phone goes back to the boot loop.
So what you can do is to try reseating the battery cable and see what happen. Be careful doing this since you could damage the phone or short the battery out which can be dangerous.
At least now when charging I have a solid orange light, I still have to work out the boot loop issue.
Let me know what happen.
How can I disassemble the phone?

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
After read your reply, I decided to disassemble the phone. I searched the internet to do it, and I found a video disassembling it very easily. They peel the steaker(?) cover off located upon both speakers. How can I peel it off? My desire 820 is still in deep sleep.

you will need a small flat head plastic screwdriver or an lcd pry tool to just lift up the speakers plastic. beneath you will find two screws you must remove.

Failed to show boot screen after disconnecting the battery. orange LED still blinks.
I removed the battery line assembly and reconnected the battery.
But... orange LED still blinks. It's not different between before and after states.
When I connect the phone to my computer, it is recognized QHSUSB_BULK.
Is there anything I can do for reviving htc 820? I am even living in a country(nation) where has no customer service center,:crying::crying::crying:

The problem can be accumulated, which mean it can caused by some environmental elements ( e.g. humidity, charging current and voltage ). These can lead to a sudden dead. Is your warranty still in effect? If yes, take it to your local retail shop and ask for repair!

My personal opinion here is that you may not want to pay for the repair fees as it cost you the same for a new phone...
