I have a strange issue with the Voice Recorder app. I've re-installed and done a factory restore after I upgraded to one of the gingerbread leaks and am now back to stock ec05. I had backed up my Visual Voicemail data and restored it ok. Both work just fine. But when I launch Voice Recorder and go to "List" the recordings it has, it's picking up and adding in the Visual Voicemail recordings which are also in .amr format. When I first had it, before I updated to gingerbread, it kept them separate, but now it's combining them, even though the visual voicemail files are nowhere near the same place...the visual voicemail files are in the root folder and the voice recorder files are in the my documents folder in the "audio" directory.
Is there any way to get Voice Recorder to not list the amr files from Visual Voicemail???

recently, my google voice app has been showing missed calls when i open the app. i don't need to see it in google voice since it shows in my call log. all i want google voice to show is my voicemails. can i turn off what labels get synced, or just turn off the option. i can't find it in settings. it wasn't doing this before so i'm not sure if a recent update started this.
does anyone know how to do this?
I think u can change it in GVoice settings thru web browser, I've actually changed it before to show those missed calls.

??? its sunder settings/calls
Missed Calls
Place missed calls in the inbox
Send missed calls to my email
the thing is i already checked the browser setting and to place missed calls in the inbox is not selected, yet it's still doing it.
My Samsung skyrocket is doing this same thing and its driving me NUTS! Any solutions yet?
Ive got this problem too and tried to fix via the web interface -- didn't work. The best work around is to go to labels and select inbox and the messages go away. Quite annoying for sure.
i tried to disable the messages label, but i can't find how to do that. i don't want to be selecting the label everytime. that's even more annoying.
anyone know how to fix this
I am not a fan of Visual Voicemail. Doesn't translate very accurately anyways. I would rather use the normal Sprint voicemail system where I am required to dial my cell number and listen to my messages. In order to revert back to this type of system I used to use in the Windows mobile days I would need a voicemail icon which would tell me how many Voicemail messages I have. Is there a voice mail messages count icon or widget?
Visual voicemail is only visual if you subscribe to it. Otherwise it just plays the audio.
Maybe I should clarify. I want a widget that shows me how many voice mail messages I have, similar to the existing visual voice mail app. However, when I press the icon it dials my voice mail using the phone.

Uninstall visual voicemail and you will get an icon in notifications that will dial your voicemail#. The visual voicemail app plays the audio and stores the deleted files on SD. You don't have to actually use the voice to text part of the app. It plays the audio just fine, I never use the voice to text on it I just play the audio thru it, its faster and easier to use than dialing in since I can pick and choose who's message I want to listen to in what order or just delete it without even listening if its a dead air hang up

I am not able to uninstall visual voicemail. The uninstall button is disabled.
I understand the features of the application but it doesn't play through the bluetooth phone audio it plays through the bluetooth media audio. The bluetooth car stereo I use automatically switches to streaming through the stereo when a call comes in but not when media is streamed.
So the old way was to press a voicemail button while driving. The phone would dial my cell number and the stereo would aitomatically stream the voicemails. I pressed 7 or 9 for each message then hangup. The strereo would switch back to whatever i was listening to.
Now, I am required to change the source on the stereo to bluetooth. Click the icon on my phone for every voicemail. Not to mention the icons are small. When done I have to switch the source back to whatever I was listening to.

Just delete or rename /system/app/vtt-sprint.apk. You might need to reboot afterwards to completely get rid of it.
If you're rooted you can use titanium backup and backup then either freeze or uninstall it. If you're not rooted there's not alot of options for uninstalling it. In the event you're not rooted you could try something like YouMail or Visual Vociemail + by phone fusion, first 2 apps that popular when you search voicemail on the playstore. You could also root, uninstall and unroot if you wanted too

Just wondering here, what all is there in the voicemail that would allow app to actually remain.. I've been searching the site here and can't find a single APK that's been mentioned... I don't have any of the many different named apk's that people have said is the sprint visual voicemail; however I can still access it? LOL I'm actually trying to rid myself of it as well as I use GV.
Mine shows up as com.coremobility.app.vnotes-1.apk in data/app but I'm on PA. So look for an app with vnotes or coremobility in the name in system as that's the name mines under and i have the most recent update of it. I'm pretty sure the name changed I'm the last update or the one prior you should be able to find it by the big yellow and white icon with the blue VM icon at a 45 degree angle running thru it

Nope, nothing looks like that lol. I've been through my entire /system and sub folder collection lol i don't know, lame!
This has been a message from the Blu Kuban broadcast system!
Weird, if you're rooted use tibu to delete it, it will be in red and should show up as just voicemail or visual voicemail in the apps list

You can use ROM toolbox to help find app location. Go to app manager in ROM toolbox long press the visualvoicemail app and then select details.
It will tell you the app/data location.
Sometimes apps are also found under data/app
Hope that helps.

User Google voice. If you use the widget it shows how many voicemails you have. I know you can dial in by pressing 1, but not sure how long messages remain if downloaded by the app.
I want to send a voice mail message to a business associate. Is it possible to save the message as a file so I can email it? I'm using Visual Voicemail. Don't see any options for that. Thanks.
EDIT: Figured it out. Tried all the icons on the bottom and there was one that looked like a telephone (NEVER thought that would be the icon to save to SD card!)
I don't know about visual voice mail; but if you use google voice you can download and save them as .mp3 files.
When I have a voice mail message indicator on the display, and I click on it my phone dials out to some place out of state (Minnesota I beleive) if I remember correctly. I have to wait for it to connect and then go through the "normal" motions to listen and delete messages.
With my old iPhone 3GS, I believe the messages were stored directly on the phone. There was no need to dial out anywhere. Even if I was in a no-signal area I could listen to and manage my messages.
Is it possible to set up the OGP to have the messages resident on the phone without the need to dial anywhere?

NO Phone has messages stored on the phone... lol.
WIth the iPhone you prob had Visual Voice Mail, which I think AT&T Charges for to have, (They are plenty other places that do it for free like YouMail or Google Voice)

Get Google Voice:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.googlevoice&hl=en
Then set it up to handle your voicemail:
https://support.google.com/voice/answer/165656?hl=en
If you have an AOSP/AOKP phone app you can set it up to integrate with Voice for your voicemail. You can also set up a Voice widget on your desktop that displays voicemails visually in a manner similar to the iPhone. It even shows the voicemail in text format if you wait a couple of minutes. Cool stuff.
install AT&T visual voicemail from Play store, it's free.
