Are HTC ONE XL' rom and kernel etc. same as HTC ONE X?
Because the XL version just added LTE and changed to dual-core, the remains are same.
No.
Try a whole different SoC.
No no and no.... Please think a second and do some research

So I can't flash One X rom or kernel from the "One X Android Development" into my One XL?

I'm living in Hong Kong. I'm confused about version between the HTC ONE series. There're two version of HTC ONE X in Hong Kong, one is quad-core, one is dual-core. And there's only one version of HTC ONE XL, which is dual-core with LTE.
Since I can't find HTC ONE XL in XDA. I'm wondering HTC ONE X development works would compatible with HTC ONE XL...

From what I know is that the LTE Bandwith in Hong Kong is not the same bandwith that AT&T is using. I also reckon that different bandwidths would require different ROMS.

Hi can anyone tell me that why is the htc one s more expensive than one x as one x has a bigger screen a quadcore processor and it is also considered htc's flagship phone.
The One X is more expensive

Where do you see that the One S is more expensive?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I looked it on a website and over there the htc one s was more expensive
well that website got it wrong
the one x is holding at 520$ in my country the one s is 420$
One S also cheaper in UK
http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/mobile-phones/HTC-ONE-X/PPAY (£419)
http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mo.../PPAY?src=phoneFinderReviews#modelDetailsTabs (£349)
The only way I can think of that happening is if they were look at on contract prices for the T-Mobile One S and the AT&T One X(L).
Stores here in Singapore have the One S priced $100 more than the One X. I didn't understand it either.

Yup thats what I am talking about.
That is possible.

same here in Saudi Arabia
It's cost for more battery backup....lol
It would be high because its still not released in that country and one x has releases so they have to import one s from u.k or so hence higher price..
Same here in India

Sure its the One X and not One XL ?
I got my HOX free on a 24 month contract (£21.50 a month!). At the time, the HOS was £79. They're both free on that contract now, but the HOS as 200 minutes instead of the 100 the HOX has.
Does the HOX have more reported issues with it? Maybe that hasn't helped sales?
Yup.

It's because in Singapore One S is bundled with Beats earphone/headphone (don't remember which one/type), one X did not have beats bundle.
What I found amusing is in states, comparing T-mobile one S and AT&T one X, off-contract price, indeed one S is $50 more expensive, I don't get the logic...
Back then, in the end I'm forced to get One S, cause AT&T would not sold One X to tourists "you must be AT&T customer... bla bla bla..." T-mobile happily sell me prepaid one S.
A couple of months ago I could have understood it because the One S was superior to the One X. I found that myself when going from a One S to a One X, but now with the latest base it is the other way round.
One S is cheaper than One X in Czech Republic too..

If the HTC One S is selling well in a certain country, The carriers will take advantage of this.
In the US some carriers have dropped the price of the HTC One X by $100 according to a news article.
Hello,
I am a relative newbie here and would really appreciate some help.
I live in India and I am planning to get the HTC One X NA Unlocked from USA to India via friend. I have the following few questions:
1. Is it better to get the HTC One S NA or the HTC One X NA. Reason I ask is, the international One S does not have the Krait processor.
2. In either case, if i get an unlocked phone here and use it with a general SIM, will I not be able to update it with any firmware/SW changes?
3. What happens to the warranty of an unlocked phone? I am guessing there will be limited/no warranty on the phone in India.
Thanks a lot for your help guys, please do reply!
Regards,
Anupam.
The choice of one s / one x is upto you. I would say one x as that's what I've got.
The warranty may well be void in India.
As for updates that depends on the provider. I would suggest putting a custom rom on it.

Why do you want to to this ?
Why not buy it from india ?
1. One X
2. Upon booting you'll only loose access to HTC HUB which I guess none care
3. You'll still b able to upgrade the device.
4. You'll loose the warranty.
Guess this helps

Cheaper in US. $500 around which is roughly 28 K v/s 38K in India currently.
International One S does have the Krait processor. If getting the One S get one with the S4 chip as you can also get ones with the S3 chip which is slightly slower than the S4.
Both are very good phones, if size is not an issue then get the One X. My sister has the HOS, it has better battery life, better music quality via headphones noticablely faster in day to day usage as the S4 is a great chip.
The international One X has tegra which is good for gaming. One X has the better screen, HD resolution.
You'd be happy with either phone.

So does this mean i can upgrade without a custom ROM? I am a little new to this and have never actually played around with my phone. Hence would like to know what is the best way without too many customizations.

Well, it's not really a surprise now, is it? HTC had to to something with a flagship that's now 6 months old. Seeing how Samsung is selling its Galaxy range like hotcakes and they keep churning out new models, HTC has to keep up.
I'm actually happy that they've kept the overall hardware setup similar to the One X. For us One X owners that should mean longer ongoing support, since there is no technical limitation for One X+ updates to be applied onto the One X. At least they're not launching a gazillion iterations of the same phone like they did in 2010 and 2011...
I must say the larger battery annoys me, though. But I take the One X's looks any day...
Just spotted a brand new 32gb white one x unlocked s-off on eBay UK.
Pretty high start price though. Just incase anyone is feeling rich.

What was the price? I bought my phone, completely stock and untouched for 230pounds. It was 2 days old, still had the plastic over the screen and the original vodafone sim. It was stock unlocked too and had all the usual accessories. I bought mine in November so the price should have dropped radically by now
360 start, its because its s-off. Absolutely you can get an s-on device much cheaper.
I had a watch on s-off devices as I bought one a few months back. They don't show up often.

Not really worth it , the only real gain for avarage flasher is that it doesn't need PC for flashing and possibility to change the cid , nothing else, besides HoX is nearly 1 year old now , now is time for new devices.
I'm selling mine as wel. First have to wait for the Padfone 2

Seriously tho there is no means to s-off this beast using software. Sorry
You have only one option, to buy one that came s-off from HTC. Not many of them about hence they cost over the odds.
