Hello All,
I've searched through most of the Paranoid Android Rom thread, and I can't post any questions on that thread since I'm fairly new here so I'm hoping someone will help me out.
I recently downloaded the latest Paranoid Android rom with the fix, and I want to change my Icon size. I wen to the settings and changed the DPI, but when I apply my changes nothing happens. The icons don't change at all.
My second problem is, even with the default app icon DPI, the title block below the icons is not there. I made sure that the option to "hide icon labels" is not checked and I still don't have labels under tablet or phone mode.
Last problem, I might just be stupid, the the OP of that thread has his folders in a 4x4 square folder type look. I can't find anywhere to change the circle folders to that square folder.
Thank you all for the help!!

I've been working on a theme, mainly for myself but I will probably upload it if anyone is interested. My question is how can I change the pull down bar image and background for the notification, I have found that some themes do this, but I have searched everywhere with no explanation of how. I found an image that looks like a pull down bar but its a 9 patch image. (is there any progress on using the 9 patch tool in the SDK to change these?)
PS. The background in the attached shot is not part of theme, I think it will work with any dark background. Also not sure if I am going to bother to change any of the icons at this stage, maybe later on.
Please upload for ADP1.1
yo! the theme colors look cool, but the menu button at the bottom seems not the right fit..maybe its just be..
as for the question you actually asked..i have no idea..i am sorry
At the moment, all I have changed is the status bar background, the App Menu dragbar at the bottom, the google search widget and the clock. I will look into making different version once I have finished it (first version is going to be RC8)
What is it that varies between firmwares that requires different versions? Is it the contents of the Framework-Res.apk and Launcher different for RC8, RC30, ADP1 etc?
Great
looks great
Love the show Lost !!! Cant wait to see how this turns out..
The wallpaper (which I got from an app in the market) wasn't really part of the theme per se, its just the one I am using currently, though I think it looks good. RE: original question I kinda worked it after now, just editing the 9 patch images for the search bar and notification and it worked ok.
where is the notification bar image though?
Wow look nice. Here were did you got that bbc new app. I did a search for it in the android app store and nothing came up.
Hi all,
I asked this in Q&A and got no response so I hope it's OK to ask here...
I have a lot of quick contacts and after upgrading to froyo, they now have a speech bubble overlay on the icon that I'd like to disable/hide. What's the easiest way to go about hiding it?
Thanks!
im curious as well. I restored my screen on Launcher pro and the icons i restored dont have any overlay but any new icon i add has one.
I'd think it'd be easy as finding that overlay graphic and replacing it with a blank one, but I don't know how to do this.
Has everyone ever thought about porting the default/stock android notification bar, with all its icons and such and its greyish color?? The same I can see in the android emulator on my computer to be clear...I think it's really good!
Is it difficult to port it?
no wouldnt be to hard you would have to replace the icons from galaxy framework-res.apk with the ones from stock one
Looking for this but can't find it anywhere
I made stock like notification bar a while ago, but I haven't had time to finish it. The only thing that was left was changing the text colour on the notification bar / pull down.
EDIT: I've attached the file. If anyone wants to take up the project, they can. Replace the framework-res file with the one attached. Will not work via update.zip as I haven't set it up to be flashed. It's for XXJPO.
Hiho!
I hope this question isn't allready answered, but I unfortenately think it is. My searches all didn't serve the answer I'm looking for.
I'm just trying to change the appearence of the bottom bar of my HTC Desire. I'm using VillainROM 1.0 and I allready made it to change the statusbar with editing the framework-res.apk but I didn't find any PNGs to edit the bottom bar.
Is there any tutorial or something that tells me how to change the apperance of the bottom bar? I think I'd also have to edit the "touch area" for fitting to the new bottom bar buttons.
Please excuse my bad english and noobig questions.
greetings, oOzzy
Honestly, I don't think there is a way (through editing files). Sense will remain sense, and launcher2 will remain launcher 2.
Although you can try a new homescreen/launcher.
Your best bet will be checking out ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro or Zeam launcher. But with some googling, I'm sure you can find more.
I'm currently using Launcher Pro
I am not sure if this is in the right spot but it said Q&A so thinking its a good place to start. I am looking to find out if I can change the status bar icons to be colors. I amd running [JB:CM10:HYBRID][OFFICIAL]ParanoidAndroid 2.55 for T989[18 Nov 2012] (Love it btw) so I guess the best way to word this is I use go sms pro for txting and the icon that comes up when I get a txt is a very nice noticable green color and I know I have a txt in a quick glance, I also have the facebook app and when I get a notice from facebook its a white and so are my mail and all the other icons so it is hard tell the diffrents between them. so I was wonding if there was a way to change this or if there is a mod for it. if anyone needs more info I am happy to post it. Thank you
If you would like to modify some of the notification bar icons you would have to modify some images in the system framework of your phone which would be difficult if it's your first time.
The easier way to change them, is that since you're using a CM10 ROM you can try out some CM10 Themes from the Play Store. Click here to view all of the available themes.
All the themes will help you change the overall look of your phone, that includes the notification icons. You will just need to apply the themes with the Theme Chooser application. Cheers!
