Music folder doesn't Update ! [Solved] - HTC One X

I have transferred my files to SDCARD by Sync option via Windows Media Player directly. After adding, some files have updated but some of them have not.. So is there any solution to show all the Music files in the Music Player for HTC One X.

Try clearing data from Media Storage [Settings -> Apps -> All -> Media Storage -> Clear Data]. Once you do that, restart the phone. When you open the music app, it will then rebuild your library.

Sometimes media scanner doesn't always pick up on newly transferred media. Either reboot, or force a scan with a simple app called sdrescan.

Thanks. I had issues with the Music app not loading the Album Art after a Nandroid restore. The "Media Storage" Data wipe fixed the issue, however it took some time to re-build the entire library.
Is there any way to refresh / rebuild the music library without restart? The sdrescan or simple reboot (without media storage data clean) did not work either.

if you have problems with 1 mp3, displayed incorrectly, try to update mp3tag (add/remove a letter, year, something) in it, then run that app.
p.s. deleting data of media storage will effectively wipe your settings for ringtones, alarms and all audio signals.
i haven't rebooted my phone after com.bero.sdrescan yet. hope it won't delete my settings.

[Q] Can't delete playlist

Anyone know where the HTC music player stores it's playlists? Mine need nuking...
I'm having a problem with the HTC music player - I can't delete a particular playlist.
The app says that it has deleted it when I try, but it remains. Also when I click on the playlist or try and add a song to it the app force closes.
I've tried clearing the data in settings->applications->manage applications for "music" and "media storage" and rebooting, but the playlist remains.
I think I may have created the playlist and deleted the song it pointed to. Is there any other way to remove it now apart from a factory reset?
Resolved:
It wasn't a real playlist. I found a folder structure like:
\sdcard\Podcasts\anotherfolder\anmp3file.mp3
\sdcard\Podcasts\asecondfolder\anothermp3file.mp3
The HTC player thinks this is a playlist and obviously can't delete it, as it's a folder. Would be nice it it told you this instead of crashing.

Music Files issue

Hey I just bought this phone yesterday (had the galaxy before)
and today i opened up the music player and loaded the songs from my sd card, but for some reason everything is (about 90%) of my songs are under the album "audio" with unknown as the artist/album. but then the rest of the 10% song are under albums...how can i fix this? its quite annoying now to find songs by certain artist since everything is UNKNOWN.
i also tried using another music player (pro player or something like that) and same thing
either your files lost the mp3 tags for some unknown reason, or something else is wrong there.
either case try out this great app

so is there any way to diagnose the problem to see what it REALLY is?
also is there an easy way to put the tags back onto the files?
OKAY SO I FIGURED THIS ONE OUT LOL
go to settings, applications, all, find 'media storage' click on it. clear data.
then go to settings and sd storage, unmount sd card. then once available, hit mount sd card. let it scan fully
then go to music player and all songs should be grouped into albums, etc etc etc..
someone can close this thread now and keep it for reference for newbies like myself who run into this issue

sdcard problem after ics upgrade

Hello to all !
I tried searching for a solution, but cant seem to find a an answer for my issue.
After upgrading to ics my music player cant detect the music files that are on my sdcard, the same with photos. For now i just have to navigate to my music folder with root explorer and open mp3s from there. I would appreciate if anyone can help me fix this !
you could try wiping your cache and see if that helps
If its not too much of a hassle, you should reformat your sd external through settings and reload all your stuff. Sometimes files get corrupted and thats the only way out. Its most likely your card and not your phone.

i tried everything that i can think of, but nothing seems to help. i can open the files i need using a file manager
Haven't gotten around to playing with music, however, did have a problem choosing wallpaper (was on external SD) through Settings > Display > Home Screen Wallpaper. Could not access that way, but could through Folders or Gallery.
What I found the problem to be was a setting in Developer Options. See if you have this checked:
Settings > Developer Options > Do Not Keep Activities (untick it). It may require a Restart, but I did not have to.
I don't know if anyone is having a problem with wallpapers, but I cannot have that setting ticked and see my wallpaper using the normal Settings > Display method.
AFA as music, I was having a problem with ICS seeing a ringtone on the external SD and had to create a nested folder (media/audio/ringtones) for ICS to see it. Perhaps music is the same way? Like I said, I haven't gotten around to playing with music yet. I tried reformatting my card to fix the ringtone and wallpaper issue but haven't put the music back on.
i found a way to fix it.
thanks people !

care to share?
when i removed the bloat from system/app i removed the mediaprovider app and that caused my device to stop loading music and photos. it was my fault, but now i fixed it and everything works fine.

[Q] Reset media library

So unfortunately I lost everything on my SD card and my Music app still displays the music and folders I have previously had. Now I have re-added new music but it doesn't look like it appears on my playlist.
Anyone know of a way to 'refresh' or 'rescan' music besides a full wipe?

Try going to: Settings-> Apps-> All (tab)-> Select Media Storage-> and Clean Data...
Then either reboot your handset and wait a while for the library to be rebuilt, or download SDrescan from Play Store and run that
Hope that sorts it for you.
Yep, that did the trick. Thanks!

[Q] Problem with mediaserver finding music on my device

So I was having troubles with Mediaserver eating up battery life, so I put a .nomedia file in my general directory and in the Music folder of my Nexus 7. I want to add more music now, so I deleted these files, but I can't get the scanner to find any media on the device now. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks
Did you try rebooting? If so, you could try rebooting again after going into Settings, Apps, All, Media Storage, and deleting Data and Cache.

I had the exact same problem few days ago, i tried googled about this issue , and it says it is Google Play Music sync that is causing this problem.
The solution given was to disable the sync for Google Play Music, but my country doesn't have Google Play Music support yet, so the option wasn't in there. So what i did was disable the app totally , and my problem was solved.
Solution
Go to Apps and try to disable enable storage app then make restart to device , it should works
