Google services framework? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys I am trying to pull the 4.0.4 Update from Verizon on my Gnex. One guy recommended in the comments to disable Google services Framework. I now see this is a very bad idea lol. Not I cant even use play store or update my phone.
How can I re enable this on my phone?

Clear the play store data and re-open it. You should have access from the web play store again.

Saying I haven't purchased them and fail. i don't have them installed. So I dont know wtf is the problem. I even did a hard reset but issue still shows up. There are a few apps that I want to buy but can't! Any idea what the issue is!

Try to go to settings, then applications, manage applications, market, clean cache, erase data, forced closed market. Then go to recovery, delete or clean cache partition, clean dalvick cache, fix permissions. Then reboot and google play should be working after that. Hope this can help you.

I'm having the same exact problems as the OP. I've tried everything.

Yeah usually clearing data for market in manage apps works for me.. good luck

Any chance they're apps from the Amazon app store? Those show up as Purchased in my Play, but I can't load them. I have to load them from the Amazon app store instead. I break the market link using an app such as Titanium Backup or Ultimate Backup so they won't show up. If that's the situation, clearing market data makes them show up again.

That's the same version that I have too so I think it is the latest version.
The Gmail app in the play store is the pre-3.0 version.
There's no update. The GMail included in ICS is of a higher version than that it the Play Store. Unless your Play Store says there is an update, there isn't one
I want to know if the Gmail app shows in the play store in a stock i9250 because it doesn't for me.

Did you not read what we said? lol. Its not in the Play Store, because the one included with ICS is a higher version than supported in the Store at the moment. You're effectively beyond up to date. You'll be notified when there's an update....
Lol sorry just got nervous my phone was recently stuck on boot up animation and had to factory reset and lost all pics.... then play movies wouldn't update and finally did so I got alil scared lol

There is a few work a rounds for this and it is different for different people.
1.go to sync, then Google. Click to unsync Google mail and click to sync again.
2. Go into all applications, find Google services framework or something like that and clear all of it's data.
3. This is known to work less but just try hitting install repeatedly and it MIGHT work.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for searching and posting your finding after. This is annoying and can sometimes fix the error other times it takes time only to fix it. No idea what causes it at all.

Google play service

Wth is this and why does it automatically install in my phone?
After a quick search:
Google Play services - Google services for Android apps
Google Play services lets Android apps from the Google Play Store integrate with Google+ and Google Accounts. To work correctly, some apps may require Google Play services to be present and up to date.
Google Play services is usually updated automatically on Android devices. You can also install or update it manually from the Google Play Store.
