I have a problem. My beloved G2 is acting up. I was running CM7 and everything was fine.
I got bored and tried CM9 beta 3 and downloaded the latest gapps. I did a total wipe and factory reset before starting all downloads. After rebooting, I found my wifi has stopped working and the tethering was also TU. I tried going back to a previous ROM and had the same problem. I tried Mexdroid, CM9 beta 5 and 9 and several others with the same results.
After much research I discovered that all ROMs work until google play store updates at which time wifi and tethering stop.
The wifi tries to come on but it shuts itself off after several seconds and the tethering shows an error when started.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just flashed back to CM 7.0.3 (came back from MIUI) and the market will start the download but I keep getting the DOWNLOAD IS NOT SUCCESSFUL error, I did a full wipe and cleared the cache and the market cache as well but nothing has worked. I really need help fellas, thanks in advance.
It occasionally does that, and the CM team is looking into it. Have you tried the newest nightly? Is this on 3G, wifi, or both? Can you try it on both if you haven't?
The weird thing is that I was on CM7.0.3 before I tried MIUI and never had a problem, but when I switched back to CM7.0.3 I started to have this issue. Anyways, I just tried downloading the apps on 3G and it worked so thank you for that, but I'm still trying to figure out why this happened to me ? lol.
Wait scratch that, spoke too soon I was able to download 1 app and then it went back to download unsuccessful, fml.
Try signing into Google Talk. I had this problem numerous times, and found out that Google's main solution is that one must be signed in to Google Talk or the Market will fail to download apps.
i am currently running stock, but when I get that error I have to move the app from my SD card to the phone.
Google earth not working since flashing..
Hi, I first flashed about a month ago now, starting with Vicious and since then I can't get past the startup for GE. I did a few other roms, and now I'm using CM 10 but still no luck. With Vicious I was able to get it to work by doing the uninstall updates option because it was 'baked in', but that meant I couldn't use the latest version. With all the other roms you have to download it from Play, and all GE does is crash at the activity circle.
I'm still getting the hang of things, I tried the fix permissions in rom manager, and tried clearing the caches in the app. Google search hasn't shown this to be a reported problem and I don't see any thing here about it. Google earth isn't critical but i enjoy passing the time with it and would like to get it working again, so any Idea on a fix?

RESOLVED Part 2
The problems came back yesterday. The Phone app also started crashing, which I suspect could have had something to do with the modem (NB4). I reflashed MK2, and the Play Store was still giving me connection errors. I restored a backup of Dan's 2.27 build of 4.4.2 GE, and so far, the Play Store is working fine and updating apps.

It's working now. That was odd, it not working for two hours. Maybe they were doing something to the servers.

Is anyone else getting "Connection Error" with a Retry button when trying to access the Play Store? This just started happening for me in the past couple hours, despite it having worked fine 24 hrs ago. I get the same in both wifi and LTE. All other apps work fine online.
I'm on Danvdh's KOT49H 4.4.2 GE ROM (3.4.2014 build) using KT kernel (3.12.2014 build) with MDL bootloader and hybrid NB4 baseband.
I reversed the battery life (wake lock) tweaks to Google Services Framework, degreenified Google Services Framework, Play Store, and Google Play Services, to no avail. I've tried clearing cache and data for the above, Force closing, and rebooting, but no dice.
I've searched using Tapatalk and I've not found this specific problem. Maybe it's buried in one of the threads and I'm just not seeing it.
Any insight or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good morning! Alright. So. All I've done to my phone was Root it and get Xposed on it. Everything was completely fine until last night. Now, whenever I try to download anything from the Playstore, it just gets stuck on "Downloading". I've tried wiping its cache, its data, force closing it, reinstalling the update. Nothing seems to solve this issue. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue on this phone, and how they resolved it? I can't even update my applications, and I didn't even get a chance to Update my Phone, but now when I try to Scan for Updates, it just gets stuck searching :/
This happened to me at first. What worked for me for a couple days was to toggle airplane mode. Then, it started getting stuck again. So, I downloaded Beans GAPPS, and extracted Google Play services and Play Store.apk, and that seems to be working. Keep in mind, that not everything is going to work smoothly. If none of this works, look for the .apk and move it to your device and install it that way. Hope that helps, bud.
I tried Googling Beans GApps, but it seems like they haven't been updated in about a year. Or am I looking in the wrong places?
This has also been my problem since getting a pixel 2 xl almost a month ago. In fact, I wanted to make a thread about my issue earlier but I'm just too lazy! The only thing I did at first was to unlock the bootloader.
Now, I am completely stock without even root but my playstore downloads are stuck in "downloading" and usually the download starts after being stuck in this phase with about 15-30 minutes delay (which could even be hours before my download is finally started, so it's random). The funny thing is playstore lists my device certification status as "uncertified" in the settings. I have tried clearing cache+data of play services+play store+removing/adding my Google account. I also did a fresh and clean install of the May security update rom but all to no avail. I remember reading in another thread that Google may impose a 7 day lock or something for your Google account in these instances so at this point I am just waiting it out (only 3-4 more days remaining) to see if my problem goes away by itself, otherwise, I am pretty clueless as to what I should do next.
Hello there everybody.
I hope that this article finds you in great health. I have a galaxy tab 3 and i have just installed the unofficial lineageOS 14.1 on it. But then a pop up came up saying the google play services has stopped working, and kept coming back up every 5-10 seconds. None of the google apps is working. I have tried rebooting, clearing cash amd force stopping, wiping my data, and even installing the OS and the Gapps again, but nothing seems to work!
I have now installed the OS without the Gapps temporarily. Can anyone help?
Hi.
I can confirm your problem. Nearly a week ago play services started to trouble my device. I´m back to stock a least for the moment.
