Hi, I flashed the darkforest ics rom. And now i want to try a GB one.
My question is, how can i procede to do this?
On fastboot I need to erase boot , preinstall, and kernel THEN flash the GB kernel, rom and addons/fix?
Or every rom has an unique install and so differs from others and i need to follow that instructions?
tnx for the answer and sry for my english :v

Flash a Ginderbread kernel such as DoomKernel. Wipe data/factory reset and Dalvik cache. Then flash a Gingerbread rom

For the kernel, hold the Search button while connecting to your PC (think that's flash mode) then the usual "fastboot flash boot boot.img" in the command line of the fast boot directory.
Install the rom through CWM

This is a noob question but i'm still very much new to this.
I have aokp 10/8
and i'm running one of simonsimon's kernels
and i need a guide on how to update my kernel to Jellyboot5 and how to update my ROM from the 10/8 nightly build to the 10/17 stable/nightly build. Someone please provide me with a quick explanation on how i should do this. What should i clear? and how do i flash it and which files do i flash first? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
For kernel you flash it normally ..like you flashed it the first time
For Rom you flash it from recovery and only wipe cache and dalvik cache ..thats it

Which order should I flash it? Like which should I flash first? And where can I get an updated version. Of gaaps?
Sent from my One V using xda premium
same way as u flashed 1st rom
flash kernel
wipe data/cache/dalvik
flash rom
reboot
njoy
First go into bootloader
Flash kernel
Then enter recovery without doing any reboots ....and flash the new Rom but before wipe cache and dalvik cache
I was running Paranoid Android 2.99.
Okay, heres what I have done. May be the worst mistake I could do, I chose /system to format in recovery after installing the custom kernel packed in the zip of Paranoid Android by extracting it separately. And now, what I get is a phone stuck in bootloop.
After this I tried the following:
Restoring a NanDroid backup of my HTC Sense, and I know it won't work because I was using Titanium KISS kernel. Now, when I want to flash a new kernel through HTC All in one toolkit, I get a <unknown error>. The kernel of Titanium required for sense is not flashing in my phone. In fact, no kernels are flashing in the phone through the toolkit.
The phone is not bricked, because the LED glows, I can go into Recovery and Bootloader mode.
Please help me, what should I do??
First of all: Are you GSM or CDMA?
Second of all (if you are GSM) YOU SHOULD NOT FLASH THE KERNEL THAT WAS PACKED INTO THE ROM! you should download the Hellboy kernel, the latest (i think it is 20121215) and flash that.
Yes, I made that mistake. I flashed the boot.img, and now I am dead! X(
I am on GSM. Any fix? Please!

well.. you missed a lot of things here
like:
boot into recovery and do:
factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
and then wipe system
after that, flash the rom ( you didn't stated this either).
then boot into bootloader and flash the kernel hellboy.
reboot
if this doesn't help, do the followings:
go to bootloader
flash the kernel again
go to recovery
do:
factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
wipe system
install rom again.
reboot
one of these two should work just fine. your phone is not bricked or unfunctional. don't worry!

When you install a custom rom install the kernel provided with that rom and read the instruction on that specific rom how to install

am doing all the steps mentioned, and am still on locked boot loader.
thats your problem you cant have custom roms on locked bootloaders.
when you install other custom roms you should follow those steps
factory reset
cache partition wipe
wipe davlik cache (cwm>advanced)
(i also format system but its optional)
install rom zip
reboot... i do this and i have never stuck on sony's logo

Does flashtool show any bad blocks?? Can you see the kernel logo??
Do you wipe your dalvik cache after changing kernel? If not then the rom will probably fail.
With full wipe?

So i'm a newbie here. I've only installed one custom rom so far. I have an R800i with unlocked bootloader, DoomKernel v14 and Auroraplay v0.8. The thing is I want to install Lupus GBv8 kernel and the newest AuroraPlay, but i'm not sure what the steps are. Do i have to reinstall the original .ftf again then flash the kernel in fastboot and then the ROM?

That's the way to clean install (Recommended by me @@!)
Ỏ u can just flash the kernel. Then boot into recovery, and wipe everything. Last, flash the ROM
Flash firmware that have unlocked vendor partition, so you can have 600MB data partition (and you should do only once)
Power off, flash kernel without booting to OS, wipe data and system, and install new rom.
