connect pc to internet with HD

hello!
i need a software or what ever to connect my laptop to internet with the HD.
what do i need?!?
i can connect the HD to internet. but how to share this connection with my laptop?
thanx......
ralf
When you insert the USB lead you should be presented with three options.
1) - Activesync
2) - USB Drive
3) - Internet Sharing.
Choose three and then connect on the HD and it'll just work.
oh my god, so simple.
i didnt realize the 3rd option. i always choose (blind) the USB-option.
ok, i will try. thanx!!
No problems, what ROM are you running?
Is it Stock or a Custom One?
im using the laurentius V2.2 rom.
at the time i cant try.
cu later..
hmm, i tried now, but i receive an error "intshr.exe not fund" on te HD.
do i need to install a prog/cab on my HD first?!?
Hi Guys
I'm assuming this will only work for windows based computers....
Any ideas on how I can get this working with my Linux based netbook?
Plugged my blackstone in, selected option 3 and nothing!

I don't know, for Dutty's 3.0 you had to install a cab to get it working, you'll have to go looking through your Rom's thread or ask the question there.

Um.. No idea I'm afraid.
Prefer to work over bluetooth myself. Been using it all weekend, standard ROM.
How does that work then, please?
You'll need Bluetooth PAN protocol on your laptop/desktop. Simply pair the two together, then right click your system tray icon for bluetooth and activate PAN connection.

You probably didn't put the bw~ driver in your /sdcard root. Also, check wifitether's log to see if any steps were highlighted "red"

I have the .bin file in the folder & location you specified, fwiw I also have checked the forum search for issues with the wifi tether and didn't see anything regarding how i'm having issues.
i figured a new post with what my situation is with having root, flashed recovery and working wifi N would also be unique
Wifi Tether log shows no red log entries
am i supposed to do something in recovery?
I did some reading around and apparently Infrastructure mode isn't available for Incredible yet (which would explain why it won't show up on any of my wifi devices) instead AD Hoc mode is only available, which i didn't test
AD Hoc does work but has anyone gotten infrastructure working on the Incredible yet? if not, thats what my problem is, and i'll be patiently waiting for the update to come through
Edit: I got it working!! Infrastructure mode now shows up on my TP2, going to test other devices later
Yah, As far as I can tell...even with the newest pre-release version from the google code site Infrastructure mode isn't supported on anything running our firmware...I hope it comes soon too, would be much better for supporting other devices.

[Q] Custom ROM that allows adb debugging?

Hi,
I develop Android app, last time i tried, some custom ROMs disable debugging via eclipse and adb.
What ROMs are recommended for a developer like me?
Thanks

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I can no longer connect to my Desire HD via eclipse since I rooted my phone two days ago and installed the virtuous unity rom. It connects temporarily then gives the following errors:
Code:
[2011-06-29 23:23:44 - adb]This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
[2011-06-29 23:23:44 - adb]Please contact the application's support team for more information.
[2011-06-29 23:23:44 - DeviceMonitor]Adb connection Error:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
I can open up a shell and type commands on the device, but the debugging doesn't work. When you google these errors it is usually people not having enabled usb debugging on their phone. I have of course done this.
I spent a large amount of time uninstalling droid explorer and moving adb.exe and adbwinapi.dll's around today trying to fix this issue before realising it's the phone not the PC.
I took my wifes HTC ChaCha with stock ROM, connected it and it works fine in eclipse, same cable, just different phone.
I can't believe as this poster suggests that this is standard with custom ROMs.
I tried the leedroid sense 3 ROM but this too had the same issue. Each time I did a full wipe before installing the ROM, and I installed nothing on the phone before testing.
Whats going on?
Phew, finally somebody with the same issue. Could somebody try Raidroid 1.32.405.6 to see if it works then?

Hi jkoljo,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Raidroid 1.32.405.6, but unfortunately I had exactly the same issue.
I also tried the suggestions in the following thread which suggested setting persist.service.adb.enable=0 in default.prop, but this didn't work either.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051798&highlight=adb
Any other ideas? I'm willing to try anything you can suggest. It's really weird that even with an almost stock ROM the issue is still there...

Exactly. There is basically no additional mods in raidroid, only root. Does it have unsecured boot.img? So if you go to terminal emulator (get it from market), does it open up with $ or #?
It starts with $, but if I sudo to root I get the superuser app requesting permission then I get root with the # prompt.
I thougt that was the way it was supposed to work, should I be going straight in as root? Should I uninstall the superuser app?
OK. With everything else ruled out clutching at straws I tried taking the sdcard out and it started working!
I put the sdcard back in and immediately it stopped working.
So it's something to do with the sdcard...
This should be solvable through a process of elimination.
I need to go to bed now, but tomorrow I'll try a spare completely blank sdcard and start the elimination process from that. Hopefully it is just a file on the sdcard causing the problem, not the presence of an sdcard itself.
I spoke to soon, looks like I just got lucky and it happened to work when I took the sdcard out. Occasionally it will work for a minute then it will stop working again. I'm no closer to solving this.
Same issue
I have installed custom ROM on my SPICE MI 270 and it does not connect to ADB. Though it showed only once in the "list of devices" but thereafter i have never been able to connect it. Please help.

Unfortunately, you're in the Desire HD forums, so it's hard to help you when you're using different hardware. For all I know, the Spice MI could have known ADB connection problems. I would recommend finding forums specific to your hardware.

[Q] Help with Jellybean!

for some reason wifi is working but is not connecting on my kindle fire after updating my JB rom to Hashcodes latest build.
wifi did infact work on the earlier build using the adb method (don't remember it exactly it was like: Adb shell, Su, etc.)
idk why it wouldn't work because wifi is supposed to be fixed on this build and no one else that i have seen is having a problem with it except for me.
any ideas?
I would probably flash the rom again.

Try doing a clean flash. in fact before that go ahead and try the adb fix again:
adb shell
su
fix-mac.sh
or you could try using the terminal emulator which i think he said he would include in the new build: (this assumes it is rooted)
su
fix-mac.sh
the thing is though, now i can't even get my device recognized by adb with this rom running... gives me the cannot find device error.. :crying:
and also, hash told me he packaged the terminal apk wrong or something so thats the reason why it FC's every time you try and use it so thats out of the question :s
EDIT:
OK I FOUND OUT THAT WIFI DOES WORK, I USED THE HOTSPOT ON MY THUNDERBOLT AND IT CONNECTED NO PROBLEM.
The weird thing is that only connection to my router doesn't work but my laptop... phone.. etc can connect with no problems, and when i go back to my ICS rom it connects no problem..
