Rom and battery saving kernel question

I am currently using nuggys Rom and i was wondering which would be the best kernel to use to maximize battery life? I have been researching this issue for a while and haven't found a solution

Most people will tell you to that there is no solid answer, you just have to flash kernel's and test because no two phones are alike.
A kernel that saves battery for me might not save battery for you. Also, give it about a week for your ROM to get used to your kernel. If it drains fast, re-flash another kernel and repeat until you find what fits.
^agrees^
me personaly i tried a couple of different ones and the one that works great with me is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10772235&postcount=101 this one was tweak with a battery saver script ..... give that one a go if you want to but give it a couple of days to settle in
I have always used baked kernels, there are plenty of options. Baked speed, baked battery, and the one used In 1.9, Hero laptop kernel, works great as well.
i am beyond surprised this thread hasn't gone up in flames yet..
please, from now on, post questions in the Q&A section. you'll most likely find better answers there.

Kernel exclusivity

Do roms like darkside and Macnut which have kernels not found on the topics or threads are the exclusive to only those roms, per say if I extract all three kernel files and put them in a zip, can I flash them across other roms?

answer
Most of the roms made usually tell u what kernel there using and if there is mention of what kernel there using its stock....and btw WRONG SECTION! Lol
Darkside kernel is under this thread in this section
And Eugene's kernel is on droidtech forums
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
It's a valid question!
And seriously, if you don't know what you're talking about and can't take the time to do research, stop making assumptions and STFU.
Darkside's ROM is currently using a V2 version of his published V1 kernel and Eugene is using what he describes as a 'Streamlined SGS' kernel.
So far as I know, none of these are generally available for download at the moment.
To answer your question: I'm not sure, but they 'should' work. However that's just a wild ass guess on my part.
It's very likely that Darkside will roll out the V2 version (or it's equivalent) of his kernel for public consumption in the near future.
I hope that helps.

I believe Eugene's kernel at Droid-tech is different than in the ROM.
From a galaxy better than yours.
can anyone post flashible.zip from the darkside warfare ROM and the Macnut, if it's possible, I've been trying to extract them and flash them on my own but the installation keep aborting. I get the meta inf folder and the bin etc lib media folders and create a zip and try to flash it but it shirts in the middle, fortunately I had the faux kernel to bail me out I'm using ds warfare ROM

It is a valid question no doubt. But YOUNGDIZZ was pointing out is that this does not belong in Dev section. It should be in the general section. No reason to freak out and tell him to ST*U when he wasn't nasty to begin with. Come on let's keep this forum to what it is meant to be.

Questions belong in the Q&A section.. so it is the wrong place to post.
Also anyone that has the genius idea, do not pull parts from my from and make links for them. I do not want v2 beta available yet. When I want to release it I will.. if you want to do it for your own personal pleasure knock your socks off.. other than that please don't post my work..

You're right and I apologize. I actually wasn't trying to be nasty. Sometimes the New Yorker in me gets out.
In some cultures...and in New Jersey, "STFU" is actually a term of endearment.

[request/suggestion] compilation of all tweaks and and roms for sgw

Hi Guys!!
I was browsing xda forums earlier and found that on some galaxy devices topics/forums they have a thread containing all the roms and tweaks for their device in one thread. and I was wondering if it would be possible to also adopt this kind of thread for our loved SGW. this is to help noobs like me to easily find roms or tweaks for our device..

Yup~ right.. at this moment there are only quite a few ROMs available in our forum. Better to start now. I actually can do it but only until June as my work will be started and then I got NO life afterwards.

Good OC kernel for stock GB rooted with CWM recovery.

I am running stock GB and CWM recovery but am thinking about doing some overclocking without switching ROMs. If anyone has a stable kernel that is reliable let me know. I use same set up on Galaxy tab 10.1 with sock HC & CWM but run pershoots kernel to OC to 1.4ghz. Hoping to find a similar set up for my Galaxy S2 on Sprint.

ok, so it is in the wrong section... but my answer is not in the wrong thread as you stated. The mods will certainly move or delete this thread when they find it. I don't understand why you would hammer me instead of the OP for the mistake. If the thread gets moved (which it most likely will) why should I not answer the question?
OMG what's going on with all latest questions going on WRONG sections. Smh. BTW check stickies for your answer.

Yes, posted a question in wrong section but not exactly the end of the world thank you for anyone who answered and I didn't post on purpose was switching back and forth between dev and q&a so just mistakenly posted to wrong one is all. It will get moved eventually so it's no big deal. Thanks again.

Because you have asked for the best and most stable ROM and this is a no no question on XDA.

It's not true!!! I know I can't do it... I've never asked about the best rom or more stable rom! I've just asked for an advice about a stable that no need to unlock bootloader! Never "the best or most"...please could I have my topic back? I need it...

Buddy every rom has its pros (n cons...)
Read the first post in every rom thread u have for ur device.. then decide which ones suits u best...
That aint difficult right?
And why u want a list of roms when u already have them arranged in development section?
I wasn't the one who deleted your thread. Also asking for stable(ish) ROM is a bad idea. Feel free to visit the development section where you can find tons of ROMs ready to flash. It's really not that difficult, try it
P.S. Also you can't access your thread, because it's deleted.

exactly! dont read first posts.. read posts after 2 pages and read until around 20 pages if you want to be sure that its fine.. and if its a old thread, read last 20 pages to know its current rom status.. usually it will give you a vague idea on how it is.. or search term "bugs" and you will see all kind of posts reporting various bugs.. read around 4-6 posts after each bug report to find solution for it if you have same issue..

You know better than me that only flashing and testing a ROM you can see if is good or not...not reading what people write in the features... Anyway I learned the lesson! Thanks

mate what others will tell u is their point of preference... if I like cm I will ask u to choose cm.. if u ask someone else.. he will say to go for stock based rom...
In a nut shell ..
If u want speed smooth ui (poor battery no fm radio) go for cm
If u want stable rom plus fm radio plus stock look .. go for a stock based rom
Ok. I'm assuming that all points have been discussed.
