Next Kindle Fire

Anyone else really excited for the new Kindle Fire, no I don't want one but what I do want is for it to be ICS or JB so that you can extract the amazon instant video app to put on other phones/tablets
Not excited for it. Still would rather buy the nexus tablet. I plan on selling my nook tablet and getting it in next few weeks.

Kindle fire or galaxy tab 2?

I am selling my iPad that I regret buying. I want something else. I'm between the kindle fire HD 8.9 and the galaxy tab 2 10.1 are there good reasons to get this over the galaxy? I see the specs difference. But I'm still undecided. And help would be appreciated.
Edit: I posted in the wrong thread. I didn't realize this was the first generation.

Gtab2 for sure lots of development, easy to root the HD will be a hassle from beginning to end spend a little more get a little more. I love my first gen. kindle but I`m am unimpressed with amazons second gen devices and locked bootloaders. I love my Gtab2 more than I think I could for Amazons new ways.
no doubt in the word the gtab
it has a great stock interface if you don't want to root it and its easily rootable as well as easy to flash roms etc...
Thanks for the replies.

I just purchased the Fire 8.9 HD, but I did it for my young kids. Kindle Free Time is a terrific program for kids and a dream come true for parents. If you're buying a device for yourself, go with the Samsung. The fire uses a proprietary skin over Android which really hampers the device as an Android tablet. Even so, there are still legitimate reasons to buy the fire.
Cheers...

If I could have afforded a nexus 10 or note I would have gotten one of those. I got a factory refurbished gtab for 290.

i tried lowering the graphics in settings for the game but no help.
any comment would be appreciated :good:
I have seen that this only happens when the game has been pirated, so if you have, buy it.

I as well have purchased the app. I purchased it for My Droid Razr and HTC EVO 3D, it runs great on those devices, but not my Acer Iconia a100 which runs a Tegra 2 chipset.

I have zero issues running it on my Nex7 and CM10.1 nightlies. Play with my wireless ps3 controller and sixaxis app. Love how close it is to the Xbox version.

Chipset in new kindle fire HD?

I got one of these for my wife for Christmas and I know last year it was using the OMAP 4470, this years model only kind of specs I can find state "a faster 1.5ghz dual-core". So what is it? Surely it can't be an OMAP, TI exited the market a year ago! It doesn't matter much I'm just curious.

Well, is it a Kindle Fire 2 or a Kindle Fire HD 7 or 8.9? Does it have a front facing camera? Go into about device and look here to see which Kindle firmware you're using http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200529680 The reason I ask is this is the KF2 area and you stated new Kindle Fire Hd and so first need to get that straitened out.

OK, you have a Kindle Fire HD 7 2013 (KFSOWI) 11.x.x.x it will root using the files located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544736 It does have a dual core TI OMAP4 4470 HS 1.5 GHz chip set. At least that's what Amazon says although I have not dug into one personally yet. https://developer.amazon.com/sdk/fire/specifications.html third one to the right.
