Well, thanks anyway for thinking of us.

The question is who can deodex this and not break market I tried one by Whitehawkx and then tried deodexing it myself and ended up FCs on swype and samsung keyboard plus broken market

this is old. but the question should be is there a rooted version deodexed
I was forced via OTA to install. Only bug I had after install was bootloop. so i factory reset, wiped cache and davlik and rebooted.
after that i used the Samsung Galaxy S II Toolkit Beta V2.3 from ajster1989. (thanks dude!!! works great!!!) flashed recovery and then rooted.
all seems to be working fine since yesterday. No market FC. Restored all my apps with Titanium and still no issues or FCs.
Running on stock kernel.
Now waiting for ICS on 6/11/2012 install from TMO.

UVLDE is the official update that dropped last week for gingerbread. It includes new, bug-fixed chipset drivers.

DDW is tweaked and debloated (among other things). The best thing the UVLDE update has to offer is the update to the Qualcomm chipset drivers...otherwise it's mostly just another official gingerbread firmware.
I wouldn't suggest doing any official updates from any unofficial firmware. If you want to do the official updates I'd recommend using Odin to return your phone to 100% official firmware before allowing any official update to be applied via Kies or OTA. I personally always use Odin or CWM recovery to apply all firmwares. I don't trust in-place upgrades to install without problems.

There is instructions on the development section. I'd link you but I'm on my epic, away from a computer.... you are going to have to search the threads for upgrading to ei22 from a rooted froyo rom, its easy though.

Why bother with the OTA? It breaks recovery. Just flash an EI22 ROM. Flash the EC05 to EI22 modem delta if you want that.
Do you have a stock one you recommend? I am looking for as close to what sprint has released as I can. I found the modem, just need the rest of gingerbread now.

Clean GB would be basic. I think the links are still up for the ACS deodexed ROM stock from the OTA. It basically had the GPS fix in it. I am on Legendary 4.01 and it is awesome.

If you mean you can flash a GB ROM from EC05 then yes or if you mean the EC05 modem works on GB ROMs then also yes. There is a EC05toEI22 modem delta flashable in the Development forum stickies.
Found what I needed from kennyglass 123
One click roots do not work on Gingerbread. It would have been easier to flash a GB prerooted ROM while still on Froyo like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=deodexed+EI22
Now that she did the OTA you will need to follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=root+OTA+EI22
I got gingerbread loaded I will look into the modem and the gps fixs later.
Thanks guys for your help!

yes it is, but i was referring to the radio that comes with it and the 4.0.4 in the dev thread was the koodo base no? shouldn't this be the tmobile one? they're not all the same. but ehh.... tmobile base usually sucks anyways.
Yes you are right the baseband is new as well and it is UVLH1 the kernel version is 3.0.8 I guess I will give this a try for a week completly stock then back to good old AOKP. I just like trying the stock stuff. I gotta say I was very impresed with the first version of ICS that we got. I didnt even root it or anything till AOKP was official for the t989. I got super good battery life and everything was stable so lets see if this update holds up. Good job samsung.

Hi all,
I found this firmware at sammobile.
Please find it by the link below.

I am not sure if I posted at the right place.
Just tell me if I posted wrong and I will remove it.
Enjoy...
I already got the uvlh1 system folder with the apps, libs, build prop, and etc and also the .tar. I took the radio and made a flashable zip of it its in the dev section. I tryed to upload it on dropbox but it said the file is too large. Which is the best file sharing site so i can upload the large files so i can post it here ? But i guess the devs already has it.

[Q] System update on custom rom

What will happen if i install the system update while on a custom rom? In the past i have tried to do the update but it doesn't go threw while on a custom rom...what do I do? I am on jellybomb domination rom 5.0...why am i getting the system update..
The update is li3 its just minor updates for ics. But u will not be able to update from sprint or off ur pfone because u have a custom recovery. But u can easily run a rooted stock rom of that LI3 OTA or wat I suggest is go to jellybean!!!!!! The leak is out!!

The answer to your question is, nothing will happen. If you choose to accept the OTA notification, your phone will reboot, but nothing will install because you have a custom recovery.

Two ways.. Accept the update, let it go through process... It'll fail.. Reboot... notifications should not come back
Or... Use rom toolbox and edit the build.prop file, change the references to LG8 to LI3. (5 or 6 of them)... Reboot.. No worries...

Your question is a little crazy in the sense of this is a development forum where most people have there phone rooted and probably have been running FI27 for a while now... With that said "will it work" is confusing will what work the update of course it will work thats why they are putting it out. "Is it going to cause any problems" what problems are you referring to? Will it mess up your rooted phone yes it will, will it take away your themes if you have any yes it will... Will it blow your stock Epic Touch up no it will not... It will basically fix some issues they have found in your present build
With all that said man just update if you want to or don't either way you will be ok

Seeing how your running FH13 based (as wicked sensations V1.6 is) the update most likely will not work...Fail. Due to custom kernel and if you have the core sprint bloat ware apps deleted. There is one-click rooted odin or you could just flash a FI27 rooted ROM in recovery.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930950
ROM flash in recovery need zip file
.tar file use odin under the PDA slot
If you like your current rom you can also just wait for your rom maintainer to update the base or there is an OTA zip file (link posted above) and tar file out there that can be used to stop the nagging OTA notifications
