As far as I can tell by examining the install script, this is not a permanent install.
Everytime you reboot, it will go back to the original CWM and you will have to run the install again to get this recovery.

Yes, pack it into a stock kernel and flash/install the resulting kernel.

Precursor: I have tried multiple roms both ICS and JB.
Ever since I rooted GB27 after doing all the OTA after getting my referb I can't turn 4G on. The status goes from Unknown to Enabling back to Unknown. I have 3G just fine, can connect to Wifi just fine, just can't enable 4G. Any ideas? I've tried a couple different things I've found here but so far nothing is working. My next step is reflashing my ROM with no external SD card in.

Have you tried flashing different modems? If you are running GB27, then you have to run a jb modem. But you can't flash modems through mobile Odin, has to be done through pc or cwm.
