[Q] Looking for a Rom - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi guys I have a T-mobile Samsung SGH-T989 galaxy s2.
Im looking for a rom that is simple, fast and has a better battery life.
Could you guys plz include some links because I already bricked my phone once and had to replace it.
Thank you

If you are looking for gb roms try slick mod I used for a while battery life is sick its fast and light.. Lots of gb roms are out there great once head to develop forum and make sure to follow the directions so you don't brick your phone again.. As of ics they are bit buggy I would stay away and try gb roms first enjoy

Thanks for the reply, could you give me a link plz? i dont want to get the wrong rom like i did when i bricked my old phone

What's the difference between GB ROMS AND Ics ROMS? Do you think i can use the [ROM] Juggernaut v5.0 because i just rooted my phone like 2 days ago.

Ics is the latest version of android and has been further optimized and includes more features compared to gingerbread. It hasn't been officially released for our phone so ics roms are still buggy.
You can use whatever rom you'd like

I'd recommend Tuesdays blu-ray Rom. Best one out there I'm my opinion. Slick, fast, stable

Best Rom in Your Opinion :D >

Hi guys > I just took over my wife's S2 after i got her a One S - I have not rooted that one and it sucks ! i mean its really awesome but some software problems make life hard with it ... anyways ... was thinking maybe you guys could suggest a great rom for the t989 .
I'd love an ICS experience ... but i wouldnt mind anything that rocks ! i'm on Beast mod 4.2 ! talk about a ROM in the PAST !
I have to say it is really great and stable ! Simply amazing for such a long period !
I have tried a lot of roms the best to me has been slickmod 3.6 RC1. Its fast, smooth and the battery life is excellent and the the notifications are nice and loud. The only thing I don't like is the themed icons other than that I love it.

Ics try the new darkside one.
GB.... Can't really go wrong imho. I like darksides and bluray i never got into testing slick though but i heard good things about that too.

Now I have moves onto AOKP which has been awesome so far. No problems it even has a really good built in power saver under rom control.

On this:
[ROM][ICS 4.0.3][TELUS] x :: DARKSIDE.TLLE4 :: x [6.10.2012]
And I have never seen a ROM that has has such great battery for myself.
Was just down to 28% after 27 hours of being off battery. I'm not sure if its because it has the Telus radio in it, but nothing has been able to compare prior, so I won't leave this unless there actually is a reason to.
Sirius 2.1
Although the ROM is not available on XDA, but it is my daily ROM. Tried most of the ROM since leaked ICS but decided to stay with Sirius. Still waiting for the chef to update the official version of ICS
You could find the ROM here:

You guys are awesome ... ill let u know which one is my favorite

Depends on what you are looking for in a ROM.
I am running AndroidME. Loving it thus far. Basically an improved version of stock JB with some tweaks and theming options: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774165
Also, be aware that there are two different development forums - one for the GSM version and another for the Verizon/Sprint version.
Liquid smooth looks reallly tempting but they took down the link
Ima try the androidme
Thanks alot

Which is the best ? Stock or customs roms ?

So I'm not alone to think that. So right now Myrkin are you using Android revolution or the stock one ?

Stock works great, it's fast and responsive, unless you have to have root, I wouldn't bother at the moment.
I used ARHD on my HTC One X because it was better than stock but JB on the Note 2 is super!

yup me too. i flash arhd 1.1 on my note 2 and it feels a lil laggy. It even make my 3g connection crawl like a tortoise. I was quite dumbfounded cos i tot it suppose to perform better. But wen i flash it back to stock. it feels so much better n my 3g connection was fast as per normal. so i shall stick to stock while the roms gets improved in due time
Ive been using the Perseus alpha24 kernal for a few days now, smooth fast and noticablely better battery life, havent tried a ROM yet, like you, waiting till they are a bit better.
Yes, I agree.
For now, stock is the best for stability and performance.
It needs time to make custom rom better than stock
imho
Stock forever.
I think its a very subjective topic and its only a matter of time before the mods close this thread (maybe)...
I personally like stock on Note 2. Nothing more needed
Unless it AR HD! Well thats stock too

I don't see why they will close this thread I'm just asking for your experiences with custom roms and I'm sharing mine, I'm not wasking what is the best roms amongst all the roms available on the forum but just if at the moment the stock is better than any other custom roms that's all.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, I have not used custom roms atm, I just disable what I don't want and that's it. But I wish there was a vanilla Jellybean to try out. Don't need overclocking, but I want undervolted rom to squeeze more juice.
It's nice to know that some of you love the stock experience out of the box. I'm getting my Galaxy Note 2 in November. Obviously many of us like to tinker, so I'm already pleased that the list of custom roms is growing for the Galaxy Note 2.
im flash addict and always was using custom rom but for note 2 stock+root=the best
To me Note 2 needs no rooting and flashing, works great the way it is and I like it that way.

[Q] New to t-mobile whats the best rom for s3.

Just swu tch from verizon to tmobile ( cheaper and better coverage I. My area) I had beans rom on my s3 for galaxy I have know idea about all these roms on tmobile phone. So im telling you guys, if you can tell ne what is the best rom for tmobile galaxy S3?
Ps: galaxy S3 or note 2?
Personaly i use wicked v2.1.
Frosty jb is great too.
But try rom and stay on your favorite one

It all depends on what you want from your phone.
If you want stock based rom with all/most futures of original phone, I recommend FrostyJB. I use it and it's really good. Wicked is also good.
If you want simplicity, android 4.1.2 and you don't care about some stock functions of the phone, like motion, then go with cm10. I think paranoid is also based on that and it has some cool futures.
It all comes down to your preferences. Try some roms and stay with the one which makes you most happy.

this is always true but trying to get recommendations these days is nigh impossible lol thanks! I would prefer a simplistic rom with most if not all available features across roms besides customization, that's neat but i prefer speed and functionality.
Choco is correct! PK is da BOMB try it

ParanoidKANGdroid is the best. It has tons of options and is very customizable. The ROM is also really stable and efficient. Check it out.
The S3 because it has a better size and is still very high end. Perfect.

Basicly all futures made by Samsung or Samsung exclusive. Like motion, smart stay and video in smaller window.
I haven't tried liquid but I heard good things about it.
Personally I recommend FrostyJB with kt747 kernel. That's what I'm using. It's very fast and stable, also it has great battery life.

Kipster is right. Every rom has it's pros and cons. And it's unfair for devs to say which rom is best or worst. Everyone of them put a lot of hard work and free time to give us their creations and freedom of choice. For me the best is FrostyJB but some people who wrote here have different opinion.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Kipster is correct, it's always hard to say which rom is the best because all the devs do different work and for someone to say one rom is better then the other is really unfair to them.. They spend alot of time making these roms available to use users and really don't ask anything but for feedback and maybe a small donation for there time.. Best thing to do would be to read up on each rom and read the reviews from other members then find the one that fits your personal needs and give it a go..
just my $0.02
Freegs3 has been my favorite since I got the phone back in August

I've only tried a few but have stuck with Wicked and am currently running the latest release: Wicked JB v2.1 and am loving it. It just works and gets great battery life. I'd say test out Different ROMs and decide which one you like the most. I occasionally try out different versions but always go back to Wicked, however you may like others more.

[Q] Any good ROMS (New to rooting)

I just rooted my Galaxy S II T989 and I'm still new to this rooting thing. I want a good rom that's clean/neat, customizable, and does not eat up battery fast.

Try Cyanogen Mod 10.1 it's based on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and you just get it on get.cm . Also, you would need to flash Gapps found on Rootzwiki. Google instructions. I would personally flash snapshots if I were you.
Just try all rom I personaty like jb 4 mind trick
