and what do you exactly mean by "built for devs" ?

It would all the tools needed to Dev a rom an app etc. And would have stuff you didn't need removed. And also I am on wp7 just haven't changed my sig yet.

What made u think ppl will plead to u for ur rom?
Ppl r smart these days due to major noobGoesDev dramas back to back
Try some other forum dude!

where's my cool cartoon cat rom?

1. Dev's don't need a DEV ROM -they build it
2. Dev's don't need a DEV ROM to create apps -they need a computer for that
3. The more you post such threads like this the more trust you lose from people here.
Personally, I don't like you posting threads with the word ROM and/or DEV coz it disappoints me when I read your threads. Sorry mate.

[Must read] broken forum

Devs, n00bs, seniors, everyone. Please calm down.
N00bs..read before you post. This is a big cause to recent drama. I read a thread today and the same question was asked and answered on like3 straight pages... this is not called for.
Devs please consider the level of readiness before posting a Rom. My fav developer makes his Rom as close to bug free by having about 10 guys test the Rom before he releases it. Doing this would cut back on n00b questions and stupid posts. I love all you work this is just an idea.
Everyone else please don't fight and make things worse. Help the n00bs with links to forum rules and such.
I make all these mistakes too. But we need to fix it. We are losing our community.

I'll add to this a bit if you don't mind. Any noobs feel free to pm me whatever the question may be and I will try to help. There is no sense starting a new thread because 99%of the time the question has been answered and i honestly I like to help. I don't have time to develop so this is my attempt to give back to a community I got a lot out of. I may not have your answer but will most likely be able to send you in the right direction and knipp is extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. I personally don't care but don't post a thread like help plz I bricked my phone in the dev section unless you have a pair of flame retardant pants. Look bottom line is I'm here to help if anyone needs it

Also knipp what do you think about starting a kind of all in one place thread similar to what's stickied in the dev section only a little more recent and updated with an faq? I don't know how many times I posted the gingerbread ruu for people recently. If you don't have the time I can do it or certainly help at the very least. Just wanted to get your opinion on this matter

This. It's extremely refreshing when a dev spends good time creating a ROM for a phone. It's nice to be handed a ROM that has been tested and is essentially bug free. I praise the guys that do that, and the guys that stick to their work. Doing it for fun rather than for money.
Of course I'm not expecting a good ROM to fall into our laps, I do like to follow projects from start to finish just as long as the dev(s) are working solely on that project - Like Cyanogen.
I agree about posting ROMs that are fully tested.. but then only 10 or so get to enjoy the ROM until it's stable. It's nice having everyone give feedback because 100 testers is better than 10. But I 100% agree with you, we need to get this community back on track, and we as users can help indefinitely.
We need to remember, not too long ago we we n00bs. I didn't even know what an .apk was. Now I know how to edit and decompile .apks.
Let's help to make this a fun and sharing community again.

Ics rom updates?

I'm on agat's fc22 and what to update to his de22 rom
I heard there was a special process on ics to update roms. I used it before but its been so long I forgot.
Can someone tell me the process thx.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Common all I need to know is what recovery I have to use to install a new ics rom
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
From one ics touchwiz rom to another on the same version I have just loaded the unlocked stock recovery and flashed. Agat has a recovery kernel that should work too or a cwm rogue recovery. Going from tw to aosp or cm9 requires clean install. Honestly though if you are moving from a fc to a fe rom there were lots of changes including upgrade to higher version so a clean install might be best.
As always you are responsible if you brick.
Two posts on the same day then you didn't even bother to revisit this thread. This is why people don't bother replying to stuff in Q&A. Everything you need is already out there people just read

Lol seriously. Agats thread has instructions on how to flash and so does every single rom thread.
If that was not enough there other threads like agats repacked kernel threads with more info or the 'how to not brick your phone thread'.
Maybe you should not bother with rooting/flashing. You sound like a guy that will blame devs when you brick your phone -_-

Lol didn't mean to come off as a **** or compare our "e-dicks" I was simply stating that every single ics ROM and several stickies/threads have the info you seek. Also if you're already on Agats ROM it's the same process.
Again I didn't mean to step on your toes or offend your thanks meter I guess I just thought that we see do many of these posts that everyone (especially those already on ics) know the routine.

And thus - Thread Closed

[Q] {Q}Can someone make A list of Wi-Fi calling enabled roms.

Probally will get royally flamed for bthis or have it removed, But for those like me that have to have wifi calling on our phones, is it possible for someone to make a thread with a list of ROMs with this feature. i would, but since I'm relatively new to this scene, and don'tknow any of thedevs, i wouldn't be able to get there permissions. I would make it myself if they would allow.
You can post info like this about roms, just don't post links except ones that are to the rom thread.
Unless you want something old, all roms that are built using the latest T-Mobile build, UVDMD5, will most likely have wifi calling. Just look for that build in the op and if you don't see it, move along to the next. If you want to cross reference an older rom to see if its a T-Mobile base, just compare to the build number in my firmware thread.

So I can configure a list as long as I only list links to threads. I thought even that it was considered wrong to do without consulting the dev. Just dont want to step on toes. And if was to compile the list myself, would I put it in development section or general information section.
Sent from somewhere bizarre and no I don't want to talk about it.

Yup. Perfectly fine to do that. You just dont want to post links to their actual roms w/o permission. Some devs like to keep an eye on download counts and stuff like that. This way they know where everyone gets the download link from. Honestly though, most probably wouldnt even care about that, but still its best to ask for anything else.
Id say this would go in the General Section.
If it is just going to contain info about the ROMs, you should post it in General. If you end up including anything like a FAQ or Q&A, then it could go in the Q&A section.
Never start a thread in the development sections unless you have something to release such as a rom or mod. (or at least the plan to release and are actively developing a WIP (Work In Progress)).
Never post questions or general info guides and such there. If deemed it needs to go there in the future, it can always be moved.

Buddy every rom has its pros (n cons...)
Read the first post in every rom thread u have for ur device.. then decide which ones suits u best...
That aint difficult right?
And why u want a list of roms when u already have them arranged in development section?
I wasn't the one who deleted your thread. Also asking for stable(ish) ROM is a bad idea. Feel free to visit the development section where you can find tons of ROMs ready to flash. It's really not that difficult, try it
P.S. Also you can't access your thread, because it's deleted.

exactly! dont read first posts.. read posts after 2 pages and read until around 20 pages if you want to be sure that its fine.. and if its a old thread, read last 20 pages to know its current rom status.. usually it will give you a vague idea on how it is.. or search term "bugs" and you will see all kind of posts reporting various bugs.. read around 4-6 posts after each bug report to find solution for it if you have same issue..

mate what others will tell u is their point of preference... if I like cm I will ask u to choose cm.. if u ask someone else.. he will say to go for stock based rom...
In a nut shell ..
If u want speed smooth ui (poor battery no fm radio) go for cm
If u want stable rom plus fm radio plus stock look .. go for a stock based rom
Ok. I'm assuming that all points have been discussed.
