0mie custom doors status thread

Since indiegogo apparently thought the best way to dodge accountability was to poof the entire campaign on their site, I figure a thread here is warranted. Please post if you never received your door as well. I'm rather curious what percentage of his orders actually did get filled.
As for myself I emailed indiegogo and PayPal and neither seem to be inclined to take much action to actually get anyone's money back. Perhaps if there's enough of us an action can be forced. I really don't like the idea of letting this slide
Having received the email explanation today about the doors, I made the thread title more hospitable. I already went and grabbed another door from Gruber which I'm happy with though, so will be requesting a refund myself. How that turns out will decide how I feel about this.
Yeah same boat here. Not exactly thrilled that my attempts to contact both through the indigogo site and to 0Mie himself on xda have gone unanswered. I contributed I think about the 8th of March, and not long after that would have been the last email update I received from him about progress and dispatch updates.
Wow - I came here just to post this thread...
Never received the battery door, and PayPal closed the dispute because the transaction was more than 45 days old... That'll teach you to give the benefit of the doubt to the person. Did ANYONE receive a door? The contribution level got up to ~$7,000... He had a website up for a few days, but it looks like the domain is no longer registered to him -- Who-Is registry.
Does anyone know who this guy is? I found that Indiegogo thread here on XDA...
Wow ...I guess he was on some news sites as well ...damn ..

Well - looks like we're SOL --

He took my $65 contribution for a battery cover and spare battery, as well as many others' contributions and disappeared. The last I heard from him was over a month ago. He sent out an email saying some of the covers were done and that he was working on others and if anyone needed to get a hold of him to contact him through his site. (andetch.com)
As of a week or so ago, the site is no longer active, indiegogo and paypal have pretty much told all of us we're SOL, and people who were told their doors "were shipped" never received them. Both of the sites he operates from have been taken down and no one can contact him on his Google+ page either. I would never talk negatively on someone without good reason and I'm not sure if maybe he had something come up and couldn't follow through with the project but any type of response or refund would be nice. Here's the original project page with comments from many other unhappy contributors. http://www.indiegogo.com/Galaxy-Nexus-Laser-Etched-Doors?c=comments
It's very awesome how Gruverdesigns is helping all of us out. Dealing with them has been a great pleasure thus far. They actually respond to messages.

I hope this guy goes to hell, seriously... I was one of the first people that contributed when I saw his campaign and even helped promote it a little bit. I feel betrayed and it makes it even worse that I helped promote this liar.
And I'm in the same boat, haven't received any updates, emails, or battery door yet.
Still had his google plus page from early in the campaign. This is what convinced me he is dodging rather than just MIA for some real reason. The plus page has been unused a while, but there's a tweet a few days back, and we're adding stuff to our 'wish list' on april 10th...which is after my 2nd polite email inquiry about what the status of the campaign is...

The whole thing seems so weird though, the guy has been active for 2 years with that name and done other stuff, no real reason to burn people now.
he was on all the big sites , someone tell these sites

Somebody file something with FBI. Worth a try. $7000 is probably a felony charge.
let it be.
Did anyone else receive this email on 4/9/2012?

Looks like my auto-reply away message didn’t get setup up properly, my family was in town from San Diego last week and I hadn’t seen them in almost a year. I was spending time with them. I am getting some orders ready to ship now, I have yours ready to be etched. That will probably happen tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, I now have to reply to about 100 new emails.

I had spoken to him about a month ago. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but that was last email I received from him. I even got a stamp.com tracking email a week after he met the minimum requirement but never received anything number never even updated.
I donated back when the funding was only $30
I still haven't received my door....welp
I received mine. I ordered it on March 12th via his website (they day before I ordered the Google limited from ebay) and they both came in on the 31st. I had to contact him via an xda pm after a week of not hearing anything about the shipping though, but I eventually got it. I think he said he got swamped with orders plus was busy at work so he got delayed getting the orders out.

Considering the amount of received vs not received, I doubt it's just a "I got really busy" scenario...
The lack of communication is also troubling...
Oh I totally agree. Especially when in the first pm I included my Google checkout order number and his reply back was "did you order GSM or cdma version". Ugh really? That's why I included the order number

I paid for my gsm door plus international shipping early on and got a couple emails early on but nothing for ages. No door yet. I have given up on ever getting it...
I would love to be able to take back the other post I made in the other thread. He was nothing less than great to speak with at the beginning of the campaign. I'm definitely frustrated at this point though. No responses to emails or inquiries just seems too suspicious. There's also the matter of his sites now being inactive. If I end up getting a response, a refund, or what I paid for I'll be more than happy to delete the posts I've made.
I think we'd all love to give the benefit of the doubt, but the ball is very much in his court to respond and he isn't at all.
His profile shows activity on xda after this thread began yesterday. If there's an explanation, we're listening.

Exactly - I think the majority of us understand that life gets in the way, and it's not always possible to finish what you start -- but a refund is at least needed. As it stands now, he stole the money.
Found a google profile for his website but like everything else there hasn't been any activity since mid March.

Seems like this is the only site he's been "active" on.

Android 4.2.2 wager thread v.2.0.1 *High Stakes Poker Edition*

Seen a few of these threads on xda as I have rummaged through various sections….
We all make bets on when the Note II will see android 4.2.2 or some other version of android. Basically – “when will the T-Mobile Note II receive another Android update???”
Pick a month in the polls!!! Then post your reasoning.
If you choose the wrong month, you must attach this to your signature for a length of time equal to how far off your guess was. You guess july? And August Rolls around… you attach to signature until update comes. Make sense?
You guess August? Update comes earlier than you expected – in July for example… you modify signature until your guessed month comes around.
If you lose, this is what you attach to your signature:
“I’m one of those noobs that knows nothing about Android updates. I should get an iPhone.”
… rofl
Ok… so…
I am saying September, as the galaxy S4 already is rocking the newer version of Android, therefore will require no major attention for updates. Next down the line of Samsung devices is the Note II, there 2nd powerhouse device. I am willing to bet this is already in the works, and giving them adequate testing time after 2 months of development, I would say we are 3 months out. 2 months to develop, 1 month to do adequate testing and rollout.
What does everyone else think?
Discuss.
Hmmmm... I dont know Scott T mobile is very inconsistent with there updates bro ( of course they did break the mold with there no contract deal) but i honestly think the only way ill get the update is if I purchase the note 3.. I could be wrong but who the hell knows what T mobile is really gonna do?? Its all about selling the "next big thing"... which in are case is the note 3.... I really didnt even see the update from 2 days ago coming to us.... I was surprised to say the least... It would be nice to see it in september but ugh... i just dont see it..... If people are really concerned about the "newest" update shoot get the next nexxus device... cause it would seem thats were its at.... Anyways if i was to guess it would be in November but i still think that is pushing bro..... Just my opinion... I dont have a time machine... only the marketing guys truly know whats up... but September would be awesome tho...

Your theory could be accurate if.... TMO and Samsung were basing the decision on pleasing current Note2 owners. That may be a concern but more important to them is how can they sell more Note3s and hit their forecast numbers made to shareholders. The Note2 will soon see heavy discounts as the Note3 release gets closer. When the 3 is released with 4.2.2 there will be no desire to rush 4.2.2 to the model being replaced.
Be mindful September starts the holiday selling season. The Note2 will not be the #2 powerhouse, it will be the Note3. Even if it is only that the 3 has been officially announced.... People will hold off and wait. If you really think Samsung will not introduce the Note3 for the busiest selling season of the year... Well.... Hey believe what you want.
As to signature games.... I really prefer to keep my SIG a personal choice LOL... Not really 15 anymore.

Sounds like a plan. I will return the favor for sure. In fact I will post one for you celebrating the Note 3 release somewhere around the first week of September haha.
The Google X phone will get 4.3. Also this summer.

[Q] Arrow smartwatch..?

Hey guys,
(I'm sorry that this isn't about the moto 360, but I didn't know where to put this thread otherwise.)
I saw the Arrow smartwatch on the internet somewhere and it just looked awesome. But I haven't heard from it for months now, I started to wonder if it was actually real, and if it would ever be released. Searched everywhere but couldn't find a thing.
So I was wondering, do any of you guys know something about the Arrow smartwatch? (Release date, price, etc..)
I already contacted the company itself but they don't respond..
[btw, the website looks pretty legit..]
Never heard of it, but it look pretty sweet
I followed this Campaign. They launched on IndieGogo and Kickstarter and both Campaigns were removed after launch.
It looks like they only have 3D renders available but they never created a real working prototype.
The idea itself it brilliant but even on their Facebook page, the last update is of September 2014 so I truly believe that the project sink or somehow it was a sort of scam for Crowdfunding which has never been released.
Four years later I got the Arrow watch. It is Android based but does not use Wear OS. Also it is 5gb not 8gb as originally intended. Camera works well and swivel feature to move camera is great. Hope that XDA developers crack into it.

Pair M9 with Samsung Gear S smartwatch?

Hey all. Not new to android at all, but new to HTC brand. My new friends jollywhitefoot and ielvis helped me get rooted with almost no problem day 1 ownership a couple weeks ago and I haven't had any operational problems. Loving the new phone!
Now my next issue, and luckily the only other one for the moment. Being a historical Sammy owner, my wife & kids gave me an awesome Gear S watch for Father's Day. I did quite a bit of reading and really thought it wasn't a huge deal to make it work on non-Samsung for those of us who understand rooting & file modifying. Almost all of my attempts came from here, especially paying attention to post #'s 212 & 227 as those were referenced tons in the ongoing comments thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/tutorial-install-gear-manager-connect-t2934307
Unfortunately, I simply can't get it to connect at all. I am still within the return window for the watch, but [A] I love it and it was a nice family gift. Has anyone come across a specific set of step-by-step instructions for the latest rev of the M9? I'm guessing there have just been some firmware & OS upgrades over time as that original thread is quite old. Advice??
Thanks again in advance.
~Vol
Probably best to hang out in that thread. I know from past experience that these kinds of things take time and experimentation. When S-Voice first came out, people were trying to get it to work on other phones, and it would work for a while, then Samsung would patch it so it didn't. Like Apple, they seem to prefer to keep you in their walled garden in they can.
