Below are the videos that I have made myself on my SGS3 running chainfire 3D Nvidia Plug-in.
Riptide GP (Tegra 3 optimized)
This video is to show you how enchanted graphics looked like for Nvidia Tegra 3 games on galaxy S3 without having Tegra 3 processor but a better processor
The advance detailed graphics, the water, water splashing effect and blurring of screen on applying boost is only because of these Nvidia Plugin. Use chainfire 3D on non-Tegra 3 devices to have graphics like Tegra 3 devices for Tegra 3 optimized games.

N.O.V.A 3 (Tegra 3 Optimized)
This video is to show you how enchanted graphics looked like for Nvidia Tegra 3 games on galaxy S3 without having Tegra 3 processor but a better processor
The fire, smoke and falling object from sky are all because of this chainfire 3D and without this plug you would not get this funtionality.

Sega Sonic 4 Episode II THD (Tegra 3 only Game)
This video is to show you how enchanted graphics looked like for Nvidia Tegra 3 games on galaxy S3 without having Tegra 3 processor but a better processor
This game works only on Tegra 3 devices and it is not out yet for non-Tegra 3 devices. If you do not have Tegra 4 device then install chainfire 3D drivers and Nvidia Plugin and it would run like a charm especially if you have a beast like Galaxy S3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEvCGpZuA8w
Max Payne (Tegra 3 Optimized)
S3 running Max Payne using chainfire 3D Nvidia plugin. However you can play these game without chainfire but as this game is optimized for Tegra 3 so it should show better graphics with chainfire drivers as this game is also optimized for Tegra 3. This way you would get better antistropic texture filtering and lighting effects.

GTA 3 (Tegra Optimized)
S3 running GTA3 using chainfire 3D Nvidia plugin. However you can play these game without chainfire but as this game is optimized for Tegra 3 so it should show better graphics with chainfire drivers as this game is also optimized for Tegra 3. This way you would get better antistropic texture filtering and lighting effects.

I would upload more videos here if I installed more games and have time to make more videos.
Nice! Can you test if Galaxy on Fire 2 works? Been waiting ages to get to play this game.
I was waiting for this, how does chainfire work? I thought it didn't on the S3 can you make a howto please?
I though that chainfire 3d couldn't do tegra3 games, but only tegra2 with the current nvidia plugin... what changed?
i can't find any tegra 3 plugins, i thought chainfire 3d only support tegra 2 games?

Not all Tegra 3 exclusive games work. The Riptide GP, Max Payne, GTA 3 are made for all processors but optimized for Tegra 3 so these games works on galaxy S3 but you can enhance graphics (which they made for tegra 3) using chainfire 3D.
I have tested 2 Tegra 3 exclusive games Sonic 4 Episode II THD and Shadow Gun THD (Tegra 3 only) and Sonic works but Shadowgun does not work and just when you are about to download additional files it gives error that Tegra 3 enable device needed.
So chainfire 3D does work on Galaxy S3 for many Tegra 3 optimized games. Samurai Vengeance THD also works but it is a Tegra 2 game. I would try to test more Tegra 3 only game and I would report if anymore would work.

I think you're confusing things. Shadowgun, gta3, max payne and more are tegra2 games, hence the plugin works with them. Sonic 4 episode II might be a tegra 3 game, but it's still compatible to tegra2 devices, hence again why the plugin works. Shadowgun THD is a tegra3 *only* game. It wont work on Tegra 2 devices and so far there's no plugin for chainfire that can work for it.
In other words, the current nvidia plugin can only work for tegra2 games.
can ı do it with the S2... galaxy on fire 2 tegra 3 worked well on my S2 device with chainfire 3d
Is this with the experimental driver or just normal installation?

I am using same plugin. There is no new plugin. Not all Tegra 3 only games work some work like Sonic 4 Episode II works but Shadowgun THD (Tegra 3 only) does not work. Other games I have tested is not Tegra 3 only and run on other processors also but they are optimized for Tegra 3. Good thing is that these optimizations do work on Chainfire 3D which is good thing. At least you can play games in better graphics (enhanced for Tegra 3)

I have installed the experimental drivers as well but it should work without experimental as well because experimental drivers are required if you want to change the MSAA settings to 4x or 16x. The Riptide GP video that I have shot is using 16x MSAA however without 16x MSAA it still looks as awesome as this.

You might be correct but Sonic 4 Episode II is Tegra 3 only at the moment. They would release the Tegra 3 version shortly. I am not confusing it and if you read my posts then I am saying that I am testing those game which works on other processors (beside Tegra 3) but enhanced for Tegra 3. So if you play N.O.V.A 3 on galaxy S3 then you would not get fire, smoke, burning objects falling from sky, lighting effects and other cool effects. You get these effects on Tegra 3 devices but with chainfire 3D you can get these effects. Same is true for Riptide GP. You would water splashing effects, better water effects and blurring effect on turbo boost using Chainfire 3D only. If you check both these games are optimized for tegra 3 games. Check the photos and description in the market for both these games. You don't get these effects on even Tegra 2 devices.
Also in GTA 3 the textures and cars are more detailed using chainfire 3D and I am not sure about GTA 3 whether it is optimized for Tegra 2 or Tegra 3.

I said earlier that I am more interested in games which are optimized for Tegra 3 to get the visual enhancement. Shawdowgun THD is totally a different game to for download for only Tegra 3 devices and the download for additional files is blocked if you are not using Tegra 3 device. I would check other Tegra 3 only game beside Sonic 4 Espisode II as well whether they work or not but to me the visual enhancement for Tegra 3 optimized (not Tegra 3 only) is good enough reason to install chainfire 3D and I give full credit to chainfire and thank him to make it happen for non-Tegra devices as well. I wish if he can update the drivers to fool the shadowgun THD as well then it would be cool. There is no doubt S3 has better GPU than Tegra 3.

I can do the how to video but it is already covered here on XDA forum before. Please search on the forum. The installation is same as on every other mobile i.e.
1-Root your mobile phone
2-Install Chainfire 3D from market (buy pro version if you want per app setting)
3-Once installed, download 3 plugins (you can search through google) Nvidia, Qualcomm, Power PVR
4- Put these three file on your SD Card and install them from within the chainfire 3d application by going to install plugin/shaders
5- once installed open default OpenGL settings and click on use plugin. Chose Nvidia and go back. You are done and start playing game.
6-If you have pro-version then you can do per app settings instead of using default GL settings. Per app settings is also needed if any one of your particular game does not work with these drivers and you can setting plugin to none for that particular game.
I hope it helps.

I have tested and the game Galaxy on Fire 2 THD works fine Below is the link where you can see this game on Galaxy S3. The video I have made is crappy and jurky but the game works totally smooth. I think it is Tegra 2 game. I am uploading the video on the below link and in 12 minutes it would be up and running:

Thanks for pushing the thanks button. I appreciate that
Shadown Gun THD is not working on SGS2 with chainfired 3d.. it might not work on SGS3 as well, I guess.
Im now deleting the max paynes mali gpu data files and pasting the tegra 3 s data files.. I hope it will work from my last saved game Im just experimenting.
and can you send me the tegra sd files of riptide gp and the .apk file or tell me which version are you using ?.. because I couldnt find the proper thd version of riptide gp.

Thanks a lot, it is the normal procedure then like it was for the S2 just wanted to make sure I will apply it as soon as i get my blue S3!
will loading the nvidia plugin cause the game to detect a tegra processor and automatically download the files for it or do i have to find them for each game and manually paste them in?
This includes Modern Combat 3, Dungeon Hunter 3, MIB 3, The Amazing SpiderMan, Ice age, Nova 3 & many more. Hope that some of this games work fine on HOX

That's just crazy, you think Gameloft would want to sort its games out so they work properly on the flagship device of one of the world's biggest phone manufacturers, not to mention the official google tablet uses the same processor.

Well yea you'd think so... Gamelofts version of optimising for nexus 7 means allowing it to run it. It's not optimised at all. For example, there was a hox version of modern combat 3, which ran beautifully. Nexus 7 play store downloads a version that runs like a really quick slide show. nova 3 on the hox, the version I tried, had all effects like the iphone4 version. It did run like crap also. The nexus play store version runs similar, but doesn't have the smoke and lighting effects. Dark knight runs steppy, etc...etc... Hamdir is running a thread to make tegra games 60fps... This is a whole other issue, getting games above 30fps on a cutting edge chipset. Especially as I've seen my friend play nova 3 on his sensation at what I perceived as 60fps. It looked amazing!!

man again u r not being fair, I played on the sensation its 60fps with every effect disabled, n I mean dead flat no reflection on any surface
mass effect v1.30 on the hox had much less effect n ran over 60fps
also sgs3 runs nova3 at 60fps with everything on, ripetide runs very badly
effects on the hox for nova is a luck issue the game gets confused by the 3d dots menu and turns them on
with a custom kernel like faux004b6 nova3 runs very well
the gaming app, faux kernel and my guide proves there is nothing wrong with tegra its just software issues
all HTC has to do is include a performance profile

I believe I'm being pretty fair? Gameloft need to pull their finger it and get optimising for tegra. Whilst I get what youre doing on hox, and the need for performance profiles, the same issues with Gameloft games are present on the nexus 7, whikt tegra games are just smoother out of the box than hox was. Its gamelofts issues here, not tegra.

I was wondering if there was a way I could play THD (Tegra 3) exclusive games on my Note 2. I'm sure this phone is more capable than the Tegra 3, and I would love to play some of those games optimized for the quad-core chips. Also, is it possible to do this without root?

I know that there were tegra drivers that you could install on other devices to play tegra 2 games on non-tegra devices. I had my old epic touch rooted and playing THD exclusive games. I was just wondering if there was a work-around to get tegra 3 games to work on non-tegra devices as well.
Try chainfire 3d. Havent tried it on any tegrs 3 titles but it worked quite well on tegra 2 exclusives with my adreno phones. Dont know if its mali compatible. Would be a good report back for those smug posters that dont know about wrappers.

Hey everyone. I'm a current iphone user and want to switch completely to android. I've messed around a little with it in the past. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Note 2 can play games in ultra high graphics mode for games like Dead Trigger and Riptide GP. I love this phone but I am an avid mobile gamer and this is a big deal to me. If not is there a way to enable these settings like the Tegra 3 devices have. Thank you!
This phone has a far more capable GPU than the Tegra line, but nVidia money is greener than ours, so developers only enable those graphics on Tegra devices. Chainfire3D may or may not work with the Note II - you should find the thread for it over in Android General and ask.

I have Transformer Prime (tegra 3) and Note 2 and for sure the Note 2 is a beast. Games like Dark Knight, Spiderman etc just run a LOT smoother on the Note 2. Is nice to have Tegra 3 for the occasional Tegra only game but i wouldnt sweat it too much.

Define same level because I just said about it destroys my prime so no sure what you mean. If you mean all the special effects, that is not something we control but Nvidia and the game devs blocking features that the Mali can easily run.
Like there was a hack for Dead Trigger that allowed you turn on all effects before for example.
Yes I was referring to all of the special effects. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I knew about that hack but I wasn't sure if there was a complete solution out for that, like chainfire for example but I know that chainfire doesn't work on jellybean.
Nothing really that I know off and and I never liked Chainfire as it seemed to always messed something up..at least it did for me on Captivate and Note.

If you are an avid mobile gamer are you sure android is the right fit for you? All the games are on iphone and only some make their way to android. If you do want android then get a tegra phone like one x as that will give you better graphics games that are just for nvidia but it's slim pickings so far for amount of nvidia games available.

I check it daily and yes I like the note 2 big time but all the games come out for iphone first and some like game loft release it for android a week or two later however many other developers never release for android. There are so many games for iphone its not even funny it beats android by miles. I can give you many examples of games on iphone that are not out on android. I hope this changes soon and android is getting better but not close to iphone for games. Android has better productivity and business apps however.

If i come across it ill post it up. I know it was a simple fix and im will to bet other game probably have a similar fix.
Dear fellow S4 Mini guys,
I have bought this wonderful device a week ago, and since then it gave me nothing but usability comfort and modern smartphone awesomeness (I think its part High-end and part Middle-end (namely PPI and GPU are of the middle-end. You are welcome to discuss this though).
Being a mobile gaming junkie, the first I did is fire up a latest PPSSPP and playing some PSP titles, and I am still amazed at how the ARM cores have matured over time, Qualcomm Krait 300 (and 400 that started to appear just right now) and ARM Cortex A15 currently being state-of-the-art.
However, my grudge is against the GPU, which is less important to platform emulation than it is to native Android games. While it is enough for any game I actually play on S4 Mini, it is showing its middle-end teeth on the games like Iron Man or even Vice City. And I started to wonder what this Adreno 305 GPU is actually about. I've been for quite some time apart from recent 3D Android titles, and have seldom spare time for checking anything that is downloadable to figure out for myself.
So I wanted to know what games are the most GPU-intensive and demanding so I could test them and get a grip on the general GPU performance of S4 Mini. Not that it would change anything, but once the curiosity starts to spread... From Youtube videos I know that N.O.V.A. 3 runs quite good.
Thank you in advance, and you are most welcome to discuss the general performance of our device and your notes on performance of specific games.

Thanks, I'll check out some of these games tonight.
However, from my experience with 2011 Xperia Play I can state the following:
Dead Space, Shadowgun, Mass Effect and Need for Speed Most Wanted will run flawlessly on anything even remotely more powerful than Adreno 205, which is considerably behind Adreno 305.
Btw, I forgot to add that Carmageddon, GPU-accelerated mode of FPSE and N64oid run flawlessly as well. But I believe they are not GPU-demanding enough to push the limits of S4 Mini.
Take a look at a game called "The Room". Quite fun as a puzzle game and looks quite nice.
Seem to hit some snags here and there. You determine if it's poor optimisation or if it's just GPU-intensive.
Another game that looks quite good from the screenshots (don't really play fast-paced games on my phone) is a game called Galaxy on Fire 2 HD (it's free).

Oh really, well that sucks. I'm able to download it on my I9190.
Edit:Just finished downloading. Confirmed working on I9190.
I wonder why it isn't supported on the I9195.

Yes it is indeed weird. I've emailed the developers and their reply:
Thank you very much for the report, that Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is not available for your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini LTE, we'll forward it to our development team in order to let them check this issue and whether the game should be compatible with this device.

I'm not sure which game will really stress the 305, but the games I have tested work flawlessly with steady fps:
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Asphalt 7
Asphalt 8
Dead Space
Modern Combat 3
Modern Combat 4
Riptide GP2
Shadow Gun
GTAIII
GTA Vice City (works but got car/screen freezing though)
Gangstar 4 Rio
Gangstar 5 Vegas
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Mass Effect
Street Fighter IV HD
Sim City
He-Man
Kairo
N.O.V.A 3
Drastic NDS emu
ePsxe PS1 emu
Sine Mora
Sonic 4 Episode 1 & 2
Robot Unicorn Attack 2
Respawnables
STR Racing 2

That is in "your case" through the playstore yes. If you get the APK from other sources, you can install it. Basically most games that say "Not Compatable" are compatable anyways.. it's just the playstore that thinks your device is not supported.
Beware that if you have editted your build.prop and your DPI, playstore can also have compatability issues because its 240dpi for this device.
Also I'm not listing games if they do not work, obviously!
NOVA3 just works fine.
note: My list has been updated!

Try out Ravensword. Runs on the unity engine but graphics are pretty good! It's been described as skyrim for Android, minus the largeness.
P.S. it should still be available as part of the humble bundle. humblebundle.com
Dungeon Hunter 4
is dungeon hunter 4 running fine? some reviews say it lags
edit: and dark knight rises as well
I'm playing galaxy on fire 2 hd without any lag

305
I have Xperia M (Can't afford more than that) , it also have Adreno 305 , i can run games like Dead Trigger , Shadow Gun , Real Racing 3 ,Asphalt 7 and 8 and the game runs pretty smooth , too bad i can't play games like MC4 and NOVA 3 cuz of its internal size . Nevertheless , its a good GPU :good:

Yeah but note that you need to force 4x MSAA in developer options to make it play.
