Implementing leeDroid tweaks into my own personal rom? - HTC One X

Hey guys, I know I'm probably going to have to ask the guys over at the leedroid thread, But would I be able to implement the tweaks into my rom (I'm not going to be sharing the rom as its for personal use only and very very beta)

As long as you have the right files and the same base, the tweaks should work.

Would it work on MoDaCo's base? I want to use his rom as a base for my own tweaks and mods.

It will work on any rom. You just need to port all the stuff to your system. the tweaks package usually involves. SystemUI, Rosie,framework-res,framework.jar, androidPolicy.jar, idlescreen base, querty kl file, & i think mms.apk. also I think some of unlock options are in the build.prop. Best thing to do is get a tool like k-diff3 or win merge, so you can compare his tweaks files to yours. Then you can see what & how to port it all.

Porting cyanagon mod settings to sense roms.

Hi,
Is it possible to port the cyanagon mod settings to sense roms as opendesire and defrost have? Ive looked at the update and it seems to an apk file, so would it just be as simple as installing it?
Not sure if this is the right section but it will get the most answers here and im sure other people will want it.
For anyone who hasnt used it before it gives you music controls on the lock screen as well as other goodies.
Im thinking about trying this on the psychosis rom which has rosie removed.
Thanks in advance!
i pushed cmparts and odparts to /system/app, but it doesnt work because the settings menu are different.
Yeah thought that might happen, thanks for trying anyway!
their kernels are different right?
don't think it'll work
CMParts is "just" an interface to many functionality on cm6 rom
this function can be ported to any AOSP rom (this is already done by OpenDesire and Defrost) but is not possible to port on closed source rom like HTC Sense

And it has nothing to do with the kernel.

[Q] Most default 21680 ROM

HI!
Well, my question is simple: is there any 21680 Default ROM for my TILT2 / HTC TP2 ?
If not a totally default one... Which one is the cooked ROM that has less customization ? I mean, in the graphical style. I want the graphical style and startup programs to be untouched.
Thanks!
I think what you are looking for is this:

thanks for your answer but those arent 21680 Roms

Try Energy ROMs. NRGZ28 is using 21680 right now. It's pretty fast. If you like Sense, but don't want many extras, you can check out the Standard Reference ROMs. They were just updated earlier tonight actually. If you'd rather not use Sense, go with Titanium.
Check out Simplicity rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734399
Get Oskitchen, dump your stock rom using that. Import 21680 into the kitchen, and then cook your own with 21680 replacing the default sys. No need to play with any options etc. You will get the stock rom with a new sys.
Can't really get much closer to stock than that.

Mod specific

Hi, i know we have a lot of mods for various roms like runny and arhd, my question is..can we use these mods on other roms that use the same sense etc,
I only ask because i know its luck of the draw if they do,for example i downloaded an ics theme for runny that was for another rom, the original theme seemed to leaved when even a small change was done in rctweaks, with this ics theme, the theme remains and is sweet..
Basically a long winded way..
Do the mods work on other roms because of the sense version, asop etc
or is it specific to the framework as i know when you use the kitchen it is based on that
Thanks in advance, probably is a stupid question yes
I don't work on any ROM's. Other than for me.
Rule of thumb
Sense specific mods won't work on AOSP/CM7.
CM7/AOSP specific mods won't work on Sense.
Backup & Flash, the only way for sure to know.

Hi andy, yep i understand you cant mod cm to sense and vice versa etc, but i mean
for example, ive got a theme for runny...but im running virtuious, both running sense 3.5.
some work for each other and some dont?
just curious to why
There could be a million & 1 reasons.
Framework differences, Sense version, kernel, installed system apps. The list could go on.
Your best bet is to make a backup, flash/apply the mod and see if it works. If not, restore.
Lol I use that method a lot, ill keep doing so

[RQ]Nice looking ROMs / No bloatware

Hi guys,
I am confused with all those fancy looking ROMs.
You are good in coding, building, cooking but still not sure about themeing...
I have an idea and I wish to ask you to try to make ROMs that way:
1. cook the ROMs in classic look and easy to see and understand (white text on black menu or something) just the basic theming and give an option to update for another look...
2. when you are building sense ROM please make it the way sense look like not with some orange icons or percents with transparent menu upon a light wallpaper where you cant see anything without hardening you eyes.
3. building Cyan is the same, make it stock and give an option to theme it.
4. do not put some extra software in the ROMs, that way you just got where everybody wanna go away from (HTC way) We all want to remove the bloatware with the stock ROMs but stock ROMs instead of giving us basic option to install what we need give us more and diferent other bloatware
========================================
anyway, I am posting this because I am looking on all those Sense3.5 threads. I don't have enough time ATM to build one miself the way I like it to be, so I am searching for stock stable kernel, basic clasic sense3.5 look with sense3.5 functionality, stock icons and stock boot animation and etc. but I couldn't find such. every sense 3.5 rom is moded somehow, why you are using sense3.5 in the ROMs name when you use just few setings from sens and everything else is moded?!?
I do not want to be rude at all!!! you all have my possitive feelings, thats a wonderful forum with more wonderful members...just...please listen to me and when you build please add an option for the members to choose whether to update through a custom recovery the look of the ROM, give us basic look sense, ADW or MIUI ROMs!
Best Regards

Most basic 3.5 for WFS, use UOT Kitchen to change the battery to stock, its clearier than clear
This is a development thread, not a request line. Keep this place uncluttered by posting stuff like this in general, a rom post or a pm.

I might be wrong but this is what i think
The 1st link you posted is managed by the CM developers, the second link is Tripndroid who based his/her/their rom on the base of the CM developers rom. Basically adding and removing tweaks that this person/team likes and dislikes
If your considering rooting and installing a custom rom. I can recommend the 1st link been using their roms for more than a month now and it's very good rom. If there is anything about sense that you like and will miss try the Sense roms. (Viper and ARHD) are the two major ones that i looked into, before settling on CM10.

hi there just adding to the above post. the first rom is developed with an ultimate goal of becoming the official CM rom, and is ready for everyday use soo far from my experience. The second one is Tripndroid, and he adds his own tweaks as far as i know. however i havent used his ROM yet to know for sure.

Hi there, I am running the ROM from the first post and it's brilliant. I have tried the second one and found it had quite a few bugs and was not nearly as finished as the first ROM. I am busy downloading alpha 5 now to try and am sure it will be just as great as the rest of his updates have been.
Thought I would give my info based on user experience of both ROMs. Also depends on what you looking for; quick ROM or fancy looking, awesome features or a stripped out version.
Well thanks guys, i think i'll go for the TeamNDVRu when i receive my phone, but still waiting september to see if it's worth it or not.
And what about the known issues ?
- Occasional soft-reboots with GPS On + Facebook ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2184 )
- WiFi direct doesnt work
- MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
- No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works from market (it's commercial!)
- USB storage copies slower than normal
- Some paid apps loses settings/acconts due to this android jellybean problem: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880 Solution is to backup with Titanium Backup and restore to internal memory, not to sd

Some of them will only occur if you have special need for something. (e.g. wifi direct)
Some of them don't occur for everyone. (facebook+gps reboot)
None of them are really a huge concern if you are willing to try jelly bean. And for most of them there is a workaround, fix given in the text you quoted. I have a jelly bean rom installed and I have to say that I don't really feel any negative impact by those known bugs/issues. But do note, that most of these ROMs are not as stable as the 4.0.4 ROMs like ViperX.
I have been using tbaldens ROM and it has been quite good. The ones by trip I have found to be a bit unstable.
