Fake Beats Solo Headphones issue with One X - HTC One X

I own a pair of knock off beats solo headphones and they don't work on the One X. No sound comes through.
They work with everything else though strangely (iPhone 3/4, Vita, PC, laptop).
Does anyone have any idea why not with the One X? Possibly something the guys in China have put in the headphones to emulate the real ones conflicting with Beats in the One X?

My beats knockoffs work with my HOX..

Yeah I had some fake beats that worked with the hox. Maybe the sound driver conflicts with the hardware. I can send you a pm of the most reputable seller of fake beats in China if you want.

Best advise is to get a real set of beats or something better.

get a Shure headset/headphone.. im having eargasmic with mine..

If you guys aren't about wearing headphones for showing off, etc. (Dr. Dre Beats) - check out Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 headphones. Notably claimed one of the best basshead headphones and are a reasonable price.

I had those Beyers, they were really bassy with better sound quality than beats hands down. However, they are pretty hard to drive and a skimpy One X DAC probably won't do well at all with some 80 ohm DT770s. I'd suggest some audio technika pro700 mk2, they're bassy as hell and easy to drive.

The connection between the phone and the headphones is analogue, the phone doesn't know about the headphones. If they are indeed plugged in and working they will produce sound. I would suggest that you try plugging them in through a known working extension cord to see if the problem is the connection between the phone and the headphones.

Nah mate it's okay. I'm mainly using these as my sen HD595s broke 2 months back. These beats were picked up on holiday on the cheap and actually sound good, this is the first issue I've had with them.
I'll get another good pair of cans one day. I'm using Audeo PFE 122's for my earphones out and about, just prefer to use cans in the house some times.

Good idea will check this out with another cable.

is it normal that I connect several random headphones and it always says beats on even if they're not beats headphones?

Does beat work with google play or do we have to use their player?

Connect your Dr.Dre headphones to the phone.
While the music is playing, go to Now Playing
Select Sound Enhancer from Menu
Title Sound Enhancer has a Dropdown - ur beats or beats solo.
Toggle and see if it works for you

But you could buy £2 headphones for £2 which aren't fake Beats headphones. Does having beats headphones that aren't beats headphones a 'thing' now?

just to let you know
there are pricey 100% replicas in quality and sound of beats sets, including packaging the only difference is the serial don't go into the website
these are most likely being outed by the same factory

Apparently it is a thing now. Personally I wouldn't touch the things, but then I wouldn't pay full price for the benefit of the distorted sound of real beats either (my One X came with Solos and I wasn't impressed). Style over substance is not a new thing. The perceived correlation between cost and quality is not new either.

Beats?

Hi,
For people who have the phone, does the beats enhancer work and does it make the sound different without using the enhancer.
I am running sense 4 light on my desire a and I went into the equaliser and it told me which headphones I was using, presumably I chose studio or solo would the original buttons on the headphones work? The volume up and down?

Yes the Beats Audio enchancer really makes the sound "richer". Beats become louder and the voices crisper. I'd say it really makes a difference especially if you have some high quality headset (Sennheiser, etc).

Don't have the beats ears, so I can't really help you on that one.
Althou considering HTC has 51 % stock in BeatsbyDre I'm pretty sure every button works fine with HTC . (Can't confirm it thou)
I use the Beats by Dr. Dre Studios with my phone.
I must say, when I play music with the HTC Music Player, it quite sucks.
I mean, it sounds pretty well, but I miss the bass.
So I've been using PowerAMP.
Great music player, and it has a bass button, which makes the bass awesome.
Sadly the HTC One X can't handle that very easily, because when I have the bass pretty high, and the volume pretty high too, it starts pushing away the high tones with kicks (Like in hardstyle music).
I didn't had this problem with my HD2.
I also had this problem a little bit with the Samsung Galaxy Note, and had it very much with the HTC ChaCha.
It could be a hardware problem, the quality of the sound module/soundcard (Or how is it called?)
But yea, in my conclusion...
It's all about personal opinions.
The HTC Music Player does not give me the bass I really want to hear from my Beats Studios.
I got my one x from Vodafone and it came with ur beats headphones I must say the sound quality is very nice crisp and clear
I don't no why people would use anything else to play music for me the beats audio is so nice to listen to I wouldn't use anything else.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Audio is all down to personal preference, I personally don't like the sound from beats headphones compared to my shure 535's. I done a test today, same song on the one x, my Sony Walkman and the wife's iPod, all set to the best sound I could get out of them at the same volume. The Sony Walkman was by far the best, much more bass than the other 2, very little difference between 2ND and 3rd but one x just wins.
Saying that I love the one x thoroughly!
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
my one x came with beats ear phones (urbeats) and i think they are amazing and the beats enhancer with the head phones is a big improvement over the normal equalizers but the beats speaker on the phone is abit of a let down shame really but loving the ear phones.

Best earphone for HTC One X

Hey guys, I'm about to buy a HTC One X and I'd like to know which earphone you think it's the best for this phone. I heard that some headsets are not compatible with HOX (buttons not working, for example).
Searching the internet, I found these two
1- http://www.ebay.com/itm/MONSTER-BEA...946119?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d367a5807
2- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-HT...301082?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20cdb7629a
What do you think? Thanks.
Any beats you get from eBay are likely to be fake.
Also, beats are overpriced and mediocre.
If you go to the accessories section of the forum you will find headphones discussions with plenty of recommendations.
I have been using Logitech Ultimate Ears 300 and now 350.
Best among all the previous in-ear earphones I had.
I am rocking a-jays one+. Good bang for buck, nice design, comes with app
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X met Tapatalk
I'm using Soundmagic E10.
It's nice but I'm hearing some hiss noise which is kinda annoying. When I try it in iPhone 4 or iPad theres no noise like that, very silent. Wonder why...

Do you have any equalisers on, like beats?
I use Creative aurvana live, without any equalizers. If u like clean sound without +10db on bass, dont buy beats.
Nah didn't saw that u want only earphone

I already turned off the Beats audio. problem still occurs. I wonder if my handset has internal faulty for this problem.
the original earphone (coming from the HOX box) not recognize in my HOX now (it used to work) but it works on iPad and iPhone.
...sorry for OOT.

HTC Stereo Headphones

I am wanting a pair of white HTC headphones. I tend to use these when I travel because if I lose them I do not worry.
I can't seem to locate the model number of these. I have a pair of RC-190's already but I want to hear the sound difference.
Any help would be appreciated. I could call HTC but it's probably faster to get a response here

I want those headphones in particular that is pictured on the website.
Thanks.
get solo hd there awesome with the boom amp
I have a set of shure se530's and other ones. I just wanted a pair or pairs of lesser cost ones to have around.
I happen to like the oem HTC headphones for some reason. Sounds better than the beats audio i have too.

I've actually been wanting to get a pair of their stereo headphones myself, or the Bluetooth one. I found the OEM ones that came with the HTC One to be pretty good, although I broke my Klipschs. It may have sounded better because my expectations were low. If anyone has those stereo ones or the Bluetooth one please do let us know how it is.
These htc specific earphones are version / model "240" when you search. Will be on amazon. Sound is ok, similar to the bundled ones.... But the price is good and these and the urbeats are the only ones that are fully compatible with this phone as far as my research can tell (ie only these have ability to skip track and change volume - something I have sorely missed until I bought these to use with my phone.

Headphones recommendations...

Hey guys,
i love the stock in ear headphones but i'm struggling as to why samsung and apple can do remote control but HTC seem to only have 1 button!
I'd like to control volume, and also skip songs and go back, etc.
Anyone got any recommendations of headphones and how to get that functionality?
Cheers
klipsch makes a few or you can mod any iphone headphones you have on hand.

Hi,
It will be hard to find an headphone with the remote control.I see the Beats headphones made for the HTC Sensation,it have 3 buttons specially made for HTC Devices. You also have the official HTC headphone with 3 buttons on the htc accessory website.
Most of others headphones on the market will be for Apple devices,it have 3 buttons but only the "accept/reject call" work on the One.
If I had to recommend you a good one,try the v-moda m80 silver(Smaller) or the V-moda m100(Bigger).it looks great with the One with some silver metal builds quality. The sound quality is great even you 're listening hip hop music or classical. It comes with 2 cable:1 for the Apple devices and 1 for Android devices(just with 1 mic button) and it's kevlar made, very hard to break
Look for :v-moda crossfade M-80 white overview, review on Youtube for the official videos
By the way, there is also an app called:"headset button controller" on google play store,it was great and I used it on my old HTC models, but didn't try on the One.You can assign some function on one button like double/triple press or holding.

yes a little pricey (I believe around $170) but they're bluetooth, meant for working out but sound amazing, ~8 hour battery life, lifetime sweat warranty (emphasis on working out), and best part...no chord attached to your device(s)
Yamaha eph-100. Tried many and these are amazing in ears and almost unheard of. Reason you will like them is they look like the htc one machined beautifully.

As far as my research has led me to believe, if you want to control volume and skip tracks, you can look into urbeats or if you want ok sound and full control for £20 then the htc 240 earphones are good and compatible... They are like the bundled ones, but with 3 buttons. Look it up on amazon.

Fry's has these for $140 this weekend. I'm trying really hard to resist. That's more than I've spent on what I consider my audiophile headphones.
I already have the Plantronics BackBeat GO, which has a similar form factor. They fit well, are mostly inconspicuous, and have good audio for a non-AptX headset. However the 3 hour battery life and lack of multi pairing are keeping me from putting them on unless I'm doing something where the cord gets in the way (for me, mostly lab work). I considered the LG Tone+, but I think they look doofy and I question the quality of the earbuds.

They are noise cancelling earbuds powered by USB-C which is just a cool concept. They should be decent quality but I don't think audio output via USB-C uses the DAC and AMP. Id still give them a try though.

I have EU package and ear buds were in the box and they really are nothing special. The bass was poor quality, I think red ear buds from HTC M7 were better quality.
Those hi res ear buds are just sitting in the box, I have Shure S315 so I dont even bother with any bundle earphones.

Thanks, Nice concept, the only issue with USB-C headphones in my opinion is the fact if you only have Type-C headphones then you cant charge and listen in the same time... having an adapter is a bad idea ( something more to carry )...
For me, Sony's way of handling it is better, the only issue is that it's proprietary... they have the Noise-Cancelling logic in the phone, and use special headphones with extra mics ( one per each side ), so headphones only needs new connectors for the NC mics in the 3.5mm plug to work ( making the headphones cheaper also )...
