hi have a nokia lunia 900. I want it for free during a contest but I do not have at&t. i was wondering if there is any reason to keep it ( say some cool things it may do with windows 8) or should i sell it.. any ideas?
Do you really like it? If not then i say sell it and wait for windows phone 8 devices as there will be high res displays and dual core processors
its a pretty solid phone, i came from android to windows phone and i honestly love my nokia.
but if you dont like it, buy yourself an unlock code for around 25$ maybe a few bucks more, and you can prob get a good $700+ for it on ebay
$459 from AT&T and Amazon. Why would someone pay $700+.

I have a Skyrocket and my fiance switched from an iphone 3gs to the lumia and I couldn't disagree more. The lumia is awful. It has horrible sound quality on both ends.

Seriously though, best phone I've ever used - and I've used 'em all (via personal and work situations). I wouldn't trade my 900 for any other phone out there!

Ebay prices have fallen to $350 for AT&T locked Lumia's 900.

Hello XDA!
I am probably gonna purchase a new HD7 from ebay. I want to have the best possible phone, so I would like to achieve the following things:
1. Use it on T-Mobile with my SIM card
2. Install the latest Mango Beta/Dev Preview
3. Install some awesome apps
So is it possible to get these things done? Also, and other info on the HD7 and getting it to work will be appreciated. Thanks!
Make sure you get a T-Mobile HD7 otherwise you won't have 3G...I have an AT&T HD7S but I had a T-Mobile HD7 waiting for it to come out and it's not the same.
weren't you just recently asking the same questions about a focus?
the same answers apply. just make sure you get an HD7 and not the HD7s like it was mentioned or you will have the same no 3g on t-mob issue as you would have had on the focus.
Yeah, I was getting a Focus but this looks better. And OK, I'll get the T-Mo version.
I have an HD7 and I really like it. It's on awesome piece of hardware. But so close to Mango being released and new handsets going to hit the stores soon, I'd rather wait for the latter and then decide what to buy if I were you. Even if you stick with your decision of buying an HD7, they'll gonna be cheaper than they're now.

Read carefully the description on Ebay....
You don't wanna get a failed/scratched one or even wrose than that.
The HD7 cost more than $150, believe me.
On Ebay, there are a lot of scams, fake seller with fake stuffs.
the HD7 normally cost you more than $270.

i've seen plenty around for around 200, so 150 isn't impossible, but it's always good to be careful.

If he wants one in good condition he probably will have to hand over at least 190.
Hi, anyone knows haw many GNexs have been sold worldwide??
I'm just curious...
You really believe someone here has that number?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Some people extrapolated a very rough number based on the ICS market share % of all Android numbers a while back (when the Galaxy Nexus was the only ICS device).
You could dig that up, but there are no solid numbers for this.
OK, is just a question... because stadistics of Iphone and SGII sales are everywhere...
Thanks...
Most of the time when sales numbers are released for a specific device it's because they sold a boat load of them and are bragging.
My guess is that the sold Galaxy Nexus is number is nowhere near the SGSII and 4s.
They won't release figures for the Galaxy Nexus because it would be embarrassing.
the reason why they probably haven't sold a boatload is because of the price, it's truly ridiculous if they undercut the price of the S2 they would have sold much much better

Yes, sell a brand new phone for less than an old phone...
And the only reason why it was so expensive in the US is because the GSM model had to be imported, which increases the price quite noticeably. In the rest of the world it wasn't any more expensive than other high end phones.

Lul wut? It was exactly the same price on Verizon and will be on all the other carriers when it is subsidized. The reason it didn't sell a ton is because it wasn't ever meant to. Google doesn't put out the Nexus line to be a sales leader.

2 weeks away now. Some of you may have heard...
http://wmpoweruser.com/nokia-lumia-900-already-in-att-stores-just-waiting-for-launch/
So black in cyan may be the immediate options.. Was really hoping to find the white as well. Someone mentioned there will be no matte white for the 900, only the glossy white. Is this true?
I called some stores in the Columbus, OH area. They said no demo's or product to speak of but to check back this Sunday.
I also read Glossy White, and have not heard about Matte White as for color options.
I stopped in my local ATT store today and got to play around with one I asked if there was any chance they had a nokia lumia 900 around to look at and there was a weird silence and first reply of, it will be available in April...so I say thanks, turn around and begin to play with a note. about 30 secs later the nice rep comes over with a cyan blue, fully operational 900 in hand and said that he just got the ok to show me. so all in all, pretty cool experience. being there is little disparity in windows devices, I was primarily concerned with the build quality, screen, and camera. All of which seemed very nice. Still wasn't enough to sell me though...it's just too far behind the times in technology to warrant a upgrade at this point. I think I will wait for the HTC One X...

In the USA the AT&T employees get them for free !

If anyone is reading this from Buffalo area, let us Canadians know which AT&T stores have lots of stock. Rogers here in Canada is only allowing reservations if you currently have a data plan or want to sign up on a data plan. There are lots of us that want to buy off contract since we are on plans with other carriers. We will be the last on the list with Rogers. Maybe AT&T stores can let us know so we can buy them there and they'll sell a ton of them.
Does anybody know if 900 uses regular sized SIM or micro SIM?
If it's anything like the 800, then it's micro-sim inserted at the top of the phone. Nothing a sim cutter can't solve. Most cell phone shops have them and can be ordered on Amazon or Ebay if you prefer to do the cutting yourself.

I know that 800 uses micro SIM but was hoping that since 900 is larger it would accomodate a regular sized SIM. Dont feel like fumbling with adapters when swapping SIM's.

Again, why? Just get an adapter. Problem solved.
No need to buy an adapter.... just use the portion of the sim card that gets cut away. That's what I do ! Not that I'm swaping phones much anymore. I like my Lumia 710 and once I have 900, it will be my only phone. My backup phone stuffed in a drawer will have the remaining piece of sim card that was cut away so I know where it is and ready for me to pop in the micro sim if I have to use that phone.
I wishfully guess next weekend not April 8th-9th will be the release time frame. Huffington Post reporting the 9th not the day. My local rep still claims to not have a clue about the Lumia 900. They told me to call back today.

Yes... many unlock companies out there. Unlocked my Lumia 710 with no issue. However, point taken... it may be a couple weeks before unlocking is possble and at a reasonable price. I paid $7 to unlock the Lumia 710 but yet a Samsung C414 clamshell phone cost $30 to unlock. Go figure.. the cheaper phone was way more expensive to unlock.
I would still like a Nokia Lumia 900 in Cyan whether it be an AT&T phone or Rogers. Looks like the Cyan is only in the USA.
It sucks that I cant preorder the phone because I want no commitment. What difference does it make
Will the Cyan be in stores for demo before preorder ends? I'm interested in the Cyan but every pic on the web looks like a different color. I'd like to see it in person before I commit.

I had not seen the multiple shades of blue until yesterday, when they showed in the new set of pics on the Nokia site. I agree, I'd like to see the offering in person. I heard that some stores have both on demo, but most only black.

The only logical answer would be they let you upgrade early. Four months after I got my Samsung Focus on the original launch day 11/8/10 I was offered early upgrade to iPhone. I would think that they will let you upgrade early for their flagship device.
Also, I read some where else, (Can't find atm) that an At$t rep told someone there would be early upgrades for the Nokia Lumia 900.

I was checking att.com last night after midnight and noticed the "maintenance" message and assumed they were adding the content to handle pre-orders. But its still not available on the site yet. Might have to drop in on my local store and see whats up. That will also give me another opportunity to see the sales reps Lumia 900 ;-)
yeah.. I think I'll have to swing by ATT again this morning and drop a pre-order down on this thing.. Cyan lumia 900, here I come.

Yes and no, it looks like for the Lumina 900 they are still referring you to AT&T, but you can still pick up an unlocked Lumina 800,

Of course, if you don't want it, I'll that the store credit, that or you could wait for the Surface or buy a Signature PC.

Yes, they sell all of the phones they have no-contract. I have purchsed several there over the years.
In fact in some cases they are selling no-contract phones when the carriers won't. When the 900 first came out the AT&T store would NOT sell me an off-contract phone but the MS store did.
Note that no-contract *does not* mean unlocked. Any no-contract phone they sell will still be locked, unless specifically advertised otherwise (example: Lumia 800 they were selling).
