Everytime i try to install a AOKP rom or CM9 Alpha 4 rom which i previously had no issues doing, but now i get assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") and a bunch of gibberish in the recovery and cannot continue with the install of the zip files.. ive tested the MD5 checksum and they're good downloads and i cant seem to figure out whats going on.. im wiping everything and im using the EL26 stock recovery to flash...
Instead of wiping, flash caulks format all, then rom and gapps
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
ya use calks format all do not use cwm or acs to whip data! it can lead to a brick on ur phone make sure also u have all the gapp files right and make sure odin properly went through.
You should be using clockwork recovery not stock

ACSRecovery was originally based on CWM4 and for the Epic 4G. I updated it to CWM5 source base, and Also ported it to ET4G.
It has menu optimizations to be more efficient
New reboot menu
PreROM wipe that wipes /data and caches
PreTheme wipe that wipes caches
ACS Branding
Various underhood tweaks.
All builds will be here:

Anyone know how to flash this without ODIN? Also can't flash via cwm because of a "signature verification failed" error. I could

If I knew where the recovery was.

turn off sig verification, or unzip the cwm-flashable, and use DD to flash it
What kernel is this based on? I really like your recovery and I was wondering if I needed to flash the EK02 kernel again after updating to your recovery?
Potential mod, version, or port to the OG Epic!?...that new compatable ROM manager version just doesn't stick...I wind up in ACS CWM4 version and have to flash a zip everytime I want to use CWM5...smh

Its stock repacked EF02 with ACS Recovery. You flash this and you're all set unless I am in the wrong thread but I don't think I am. After you flash it, go to settings /about phone and check there

That should work just fine. Just think of the ACS Recovery as a streamlined version of CWM with quicker options to wipe

Anyone having issues with ADW Launcher EX after this is flashed? I flashed this and the Blazer ROM and am not sure what is causing my bootloops whenever I load ADW launcher EX onto my phone. Any help is appreciated. I am going to post this in that thread as well.

Any updates made to the recovery? On 1.0.0.0 wipe data does not appear to be working. Also when you backup to internal SD it skips android_secure because it is looking for it on internal SD.

I had to do some searching for this. usually status 7 is a bad download. have you ran an MD5 checksum to see the file's integrity? Also though i need alittle backround. what were you flashing? how did you download it phone or PC? Usually to flash ICS use el29 direct boot kernel tar file in odin or mobile odin. then wipe everything and then try flashing. that's if your on CM9 going to a TW ICS Rom.

If i were you, after flashing agats rom, go back to Chris' recovery because agats recovery breaks a small number of apps. Make sure you are not using chris' new recovery from source though, that only works with aosp roms.

Flashed from stock ROM to CM9 using video tutorial. Trying to Flash to newest Blazer ROM and keep getting status 7 and cant mount sd card error. What am I doing wrong?
What stock rom the ota ics update or gb
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Im not certain on Blazers rom but.......... The
Problem probably lies in either where the rom zip was placed move it to external sd thats been a known issue with some people.. not internal sd
Wipe cache data and dalvic first.
Make sure you try and use AGAT CWM RECOVERY... It could be the rec your on
QBKING77 has the files for it on youtube vid.Its known safest cwm at the time for going from rom to rom
Ive gone from ota ics to cm9 and back 10 times no issues
Btw cm9 alpha 6 is what u want ...no issues with it ..
Hope that helps

When you are transferring the zip file you are transferring it unopened, right. The whole zip file at once, don't click on it and do the files individually.

I flashed aokp not knowing cwm would return to stock 3e
So so far I downloaded root exp apk astro file and gapps. I extracted and installed gapps via root explorer.
Now I have the market.
I downloaded Mobil Odin pro.
What's my options now to get a safe cwm recovery or one that I can flash from the phone in order to get some cwm back so I can then nandroid back to stock ics.
Any links to aokp cwm tar file or even a rooted kernel or stock ics rooted rom.
NEED SAFEST WAY TO DO ALL THS FROM MOBIL ODIN while on this aokp junk
I failed to flash gapps before reboot into the aokp but I knew I could get the market back via root explorer
Sent from my PH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Always flash gapps right after you flash the ROM. But here is what you're looking for: the GB Stock EL26 CWM5 kernel. Here is a link for the .tar.md5 that you can Mobile Odin: http://kernelrepo.chris41g.org/Kern.../Chris41g/Stock CWM/TAR/EL26_StockCWM.tar.md5
This kernel is ONLY for recovery. Do not try to run it on your ROM. Only use it to flash.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28981308
sent from my SGS2 running AOKP, eh...
When u say don't use it on the aokp rom what do u mean?
If I flash that in Mobil Odin and go into recovery can I still find my original stock ics nAndroid
Or would that have been wiped
All I want to do is get recovery to restore to my stock ics nandroid

NP, glad to help. What I meant that it is a GB kernel so it won't run on ICS (your phone won't boot up). It's only meant for using recovery
When i flashed the el26 i restored my nandroid from that recovery and booted into my stock ics touchwiz which also apparantely had AGAT RECOVERY backed up.. So now recovery is once again agat
.. That was a strange mess.. Certain i was gonna brick ... I almost just flashed the stock ff18 tar but glad the recovery let me restore to ics nandroid

Hey I've been tryin to flash roms for a coupla a weeks now. I know how to do the flash I'm trying to install the zips but every it just comes up with Installation Aborted. Do i need to have the bootloader unlocked to do this. Or do the zips have bugs in them.
What kernel/recovery are you flashing? What ROM are you currently running?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
You need a safe recovery, DOWNLOAD THE ROM YOU WANT FIRST... Then install mobile Odin and flash a kernel called el26 then when the phone turns off quickly hold power and vol up. Then wipe cache, dalvik, and factory wipe(above cache). Then flash the ROM YOU WANT

Thats what i keep doing every time it fails. I'm using AGAT recovery stuck on FI27. i am trying o flash the Jelly version of MIUI. what is considered a safe recovery for that rom. I also have to download roms and stuff through my phone because our home internet is so slow its only 60KB/s so then i plug in my phone and move odin to the desktop. Is that causing it to fail.
