What error are you receiving while connecting 3G?
was it working earlier?
Try enabling /disabling Roaming service.
This is wierd. 3G should work by default on CM7.2 as I once used. It does change to H sometimes. Check well to be certain.
H is better than 3g if im not mistaken

Yap.. But it all depends on the carrier and the network strength anyways.

I have an HTC Desire.
When I install any Froyo-ROM (I am currently running Modaco r20, based on frf85b) i lose my HSDPA, and I can only run 3g.
Can anyone help me activate HSDPA in Froyo?
I believe that FroYo does not show the H symbol, even though you may have H speeds. To check, go into your settings and Status. Look under Mobile Network Type.

That was a fast reply.
You were absolutely right.
Thanks dude
Various apps (Facebook, Market, Head to Head & Internet Browser) will only download data when there is a connection to the HSDPA signal.
The 3G signal has shown as 3 or 4 bars but will consistently not download any data. Once the HSDPA signal is found, then the download starts. This can be frustrating as there isnt always a HSDPA signal.
i tried to insert another network provider sim card and it showed 3G and when i tried to launch for example browser it instantly changed to HSDPA icon and loaded pages so i didnt check anything... (i couldnt recreate a situation when only 3g was available, no HSDPA)
I currently am on DHD by baadnewz 1.7b but this also happend on Stock Desire Froyo.
any advices ?

It's difficult to comment. If you're rooted, try another custom rom with an updated radio.
i have the newest radio

If the "3G" signe appears in your phone, this means that it's trying to connect to your carrier's network. Once you're identified your can start to use data connection, then you get "H" "E" or another depending on the technology used by your carrier.
H goes for HSDPA, E Edge and so on...
So the lagg time is when your carrier tries to search whether you've got acces to a data plan or not.

The 2G problem is a bug with the new firmware. I installed both firmware (sony ftf as well as doomlord), both having the same problem.
I don't know about the condition of 2G in devices upgraded via PC Companion. Can anyone confirm it. (especially Indians)??

Hi all, seems that signal is pretty crap in my house for the EE network, 1 bars for 4G and then same goes for 3G, but gettin nearly full signal on the GSM(2 G) but there in no option to keep it in GSM mode only! either lte, wcdma, gsm or WCDMA only ... is connected to wifi anyway, so 2G would be perfect to receive the calls and i'll switch it back to LTE when leaving the house, i know the development is at the early stage for the phone... option like this would be life saver for me, still have 1 week to cancel the new contract,(waiting for the vodafone sim to arrive and test it for coverage)

EE have got rid of their 2G signal, so cannot select any more AFAIK. - It's all about the 4G now with the carriers.

Any source on this? As far as i know, 2g signal is still here and they would rather get rid of 3G signal first...

I meant the selection on the device. It'll only drop to 2G if the device cannot pick up any other signal. They want to prioritise their fancy 4G and push to when and where they can. - Also due to some 2G radios being turned off and switched to Digital Television.

Sorry bud if i misunderstand you. I asked the dev in the development section to see if he can add this to xposed... Cause there is a way to turn 2g only for testing purposes through the hidden menu. I know EE is working on enabling calls through wifi... But dunno if that will work same way as the signal box etc

I thought there was an xposed mod that could enable 2G/3G/LTE toggle? - unless it's just for AOSP ROMs atm - Sidenote- I have O2 GO which is basically call/text via WiFi

So i am guessing ee will work the same way as o2. Waitin for vodafone sim to arrive to test before 14 days cooling period. Ee seems to alright everywhere else but no home lol. There is a specific xposed toolbox in the dev section for G3 so defo it will get this toggle too

Hi guys, can somebody help to to see if my 4G working on my phone, cause I think not even if 4G mode is on. Ty
What icon do you have on your phone for the data mode? Maybe you should do a speedtest on the phone and see.

Hi. LTE/WCDMA/GSM is on what it is now. Lollipop 5.0 stock official. Tried speedtest and download is from 3mps-10mps which mean its not on 4G. I called my network operator and they said that I never been registered on 4G network on their end. I have 4G sim card and 4G APN. Thats mean my phone cant connect on 4G at all.
