It will work, if you restored the app from a back up, try and this go into the settings in the app and rest the account, you won't lose your money but that helped me it when i switched kernel s

are you trying to install the .apk for google wallet?

I started getting that message a few days after I updated to the latest G Wallet. When I first opened it, it asked for root access and I allowed it. A few days later, I started getting the message and the app quit working. I uninstalled, reinstalled, restored from titanium, etc. Nothing worked. Finally, I tried installing and using a different Google account. The message hasn't been back and it works when i use it. It seems that if you allow root access, google takes note of your account and the fact that you are using a rooted device, but if you use a different account it'll work. Not the ideal workaround, especially if you associate your bank cards with your google account, but its working for me.

Look to pickup the nexus this weekend, i am look to rooted but use the stock. I would like know to know will i get the error unsupported device on the stock rom with G wallet

From what I'm reading it will work, only we are warned that there are no promises that it won't be hacked....

Did not work for me either. On all previous phones and roms I used the market would automatically start downloading and reinstalling my apps the first time I opened it. This neither happened at first use nor after the complete wipe after I rooted my nexus. Don't know what's up with that. All relevant options are set and checked. That being said the same thing happened when I flashed ics onto my htc sensation. No restore.

I ran across an inquiry somewhere that said it only works the first time you use the phone-apparently once you've registered a new device to your google account it doesn't offer to restore a second time even if you've wiped the phone. I wonder if you change the phones name in build.prop if you could trick it that way.

[Q] accidentally uninstalled nfc..

I have the verizon galaxy nexus and i somehow accidentally uninstalled nfc.. Last month i tried installing one of the hacked google wallet ports for the nexus. I installed it through the clockwork recovery, and made sure to make a backup before doing this. That version of google wallet didnt work right, so i just deleted it with root explorer. When i found out that google wallet can now be installed from the market, i immediately downloaded it to try it out, but every time i tried to open it, it would get an error. So i went to my backup and attempted to copy the old nfc files back to the system folder (i/e: NfcGoogle.apk and com.android.nfc_extras.jar), but that failed to work.
So any ideas on how to fix this and get nfc working again?
Im kinda new to android as a whole, this phone is my first smartphone. Im hoping this is a simple fix and i dont have to to a factory restore or anything. My phone is rooted too if that helps, and I still have the google wallet files i intalled too.
The attachment is a screenshot of what my wireless and networks menu looks like.
Any help is appreciated
"Secure Element Not Responding" ?
If that's the case, sorry, you need a new phone.
You shouldn't have installed any hacked Google Wallet in CWM.
It said that when I had the nfc files from the hacked google wallet..but with the old files it just says "unfortunately, wallet has stopped" ..and I know that now, at the time I just found the easiest guide to follow for installing it though.

Damn
Sorry man, you borked NFC.
You might be able to use it again by flashing back to stock images, but you won't be able to use Google Wallet again, that's for sure.
If you can, try to get an exchange
Huh oh well , I guess ill just give up on using nfc..its not too important to me. Its just too bad I won't be able to use a feature of the phone.
@samsuck Maybe I will flash the stock images sometime this weekend and see if that fixes anything..hopefully it will bring back at least some nfc functionality. Oh and I'm pretty sure its too late for me to exchange phones 0.o

He clearly stated what he did, and that he used an old method that caused harm to a lot of phones. That's not it.

Try flashing back to stock using the google image.

This is how I got my update.

Go to apps
Scroll down to google framework
Clear data
Now go to location and services.
Check all 3 GPS and google services.
Accept google therms.
Now go to about and check for update.

This also worked perfectly on my takju. Thanks to OP.
I can confirm this. Followed the instructions and the JB 4.1.1 update showed up.

This worked for me too, but it crashed while updating in recovery. My phone is stock, and now when I try the trick again, I can't get the update...

Honestly I think the main thing is clearing the data and checking. People seem to be throwing in other steps that I didn't do, but who knows maybe its a different situation for others.
Plus we're going to start seeing a ton of threads with variations of this "trick".

well worked for my galaxy nexus 4.0.4, its now updating to 4.1 thx to op
This worked for me. I have been checking every five minutes for the last couple days, clearing Framework, restarting, using different networks, and as soon as a tried this I received the update. Another thing to note, I checked for the update right before I used this "trick" to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence and I was still receiving the dreaded "Phone up to date" or whatever. So for this to be a coincidence would be a pretty low probability.
Thanks OP.
Even if this didn't do anything, I got the update finally.

Worked beautifully! I now have Android 4.1.1.
One quick correction: Google Framework is Google Services Framework.
Also, until 13 July 11:28 P.M. Google will only permit you to install using WiFi.
I tried it worked then restored root with voodoo. I am forwarding this info to others. A lot do not know about this.
my other phone is Nokia maemo n900
I did your trick, it working for me. But when it installing I get this error ; E : signature verification failed
I only rooted en unlocked the bootloader..
Thanks

Google Wallet and Root?

Now that google wallet supports all credit cards, I can actually use it.
I have my phone rooted, and was wondering if there is any way to get this to work without unrooting?
I see one post that even though it says unsupported device it will still work. Can anyone verify?
Well yeah it should work
Just try it
Also make a Google card on it
come with free 10 dollars

Im rooted and I am able to use google wallet. I used Voodoo OTA root keeper to make sure I still had root and did a temp unroot. When I wasnt rooted, I configured Google Wallet and once it was working, I used Voodoo to restore my root. Not saying its the proper process but it worked for me. Also, Im still using it not and I am not rooted, but I do have a message at the top of my screen when Im using Google Wallet stating that my device is not supported. Thats because it can tell that Im rooted. Even though it says that I still have used it with no problem. Hope this helps
I've never used it while not rooted so it has always displayed unsupported device. I haven't had any problems yet. Really liking that I can link my cards with it now.

my only problem is I've tried about 100 times to add my credit card and it won't add it. It's the same one that I've used for google wallet online forever
