Choosing a secondary phone - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been thinking of buying a secondary phone because the play is kinda heavy and sometimes I don't need to carry the gamepad. I have low budget and I need something with a good screen and hdmi, nice sound and NFC. I was considering Xperia Sola or U, even though U doesn't have NFC
What do you recommend?

Arc accessories?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any arc specific accessories besides the Sony ones. I have looked, every phone company I go to says that the arc and other erricson phones are one of their more popular phones yet I can't find anything.

What kind of accessories are you precisely interested in? I know there are Arc specific covers (Katinkas, Krusell and more) as well as Cases (PDair) and I am sure you can find much more. Try some of the online stores.
I want something like a docking station with speakers.

Case for Extended Battery

Hi guys. I'm sorry for that thread. This is a little question but i really need to find it. I want a case for my Xperia Play. But my Xperia Play's back cover is Mugen Power style. And ( I think ) Normal Cases don't compatible with this Mugen Power style back cover. Because Mugen Power style is thicker than original back cover. Nooww. Here is my question: I want protect my Xperia Play. But my thick mugen power back cover doesn't allow this. Is there any case ( or something that can protect my phone ) that supports thick back covers. ?
Thanks everyone!!
Please guys, help me

I meant like a case that isn't designed for any specific device like http://www.amazon.com/Horizontal-Le...HAEI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339184089&sr=8-1

you could try to see if a skin would fit
it kind of looks like it's the same except it's thicker
so i'd go for something that's black or transparent so the top/bottom/sides don't look really weird
What cases will fit the Xperia Play with 3600mAh extended battery? Thanks
Hello!
I am also thinking of buying an extended battery for my Xperia Play (R800i), a 3600mAh battery. I am based in the UK. Does anyone know what cases will fit my Xperia Play with an extended battery, a 3600mAh extended battery? I need a case to protect my Xperia Play with a 3600mAh extended battery.
If you have links for those cases, please post them here as well.
Thank you for your help
HD (720p) Video Recording - DoomKernel x Lupus xperia play
Hi guys,
I have a xperia play with doomkernel v14 with the rom 'true ancestor 1.6'
Do you know if the DoomKernel supports hd (720p) video recording?
I'm not sure if it does, so I'm wondering if it would be better to change the kernel for Lupus, which support hd recording.
What do you think?
Thanks!!

Glueing Xperia play in open position?

Im planing to get a brand new xperia play R800X just to use as a gaming device, im thinking of glueing it in the open position so the flex cable doesn't get damaged when opening closing the device.
i just know the flex is the weak spot, and i don't want it failing, and i will just use it for gaming
Does this sounds too crazy?

OR, or, or.....
You could just be careful with it and not slide it open like you're trying to send it into another galaxy.

I wouldn't glue it if I were you.
Apply sticky adhesive rubber feet here instead.

So it doesn't close with those applied, or for keeping the screen more separated when opening/closing?

Have been using a R800x for 2 years with no flex cable problems sliding it open. If you just NEVER close it you will likely never have the problem. Why bother gluing it and risk screwing it up

No I disassembled my R800x 3 times and putting it back together I still have the same issue. The problem is to get to the flex you have to dissemble the whole xperia play which inclues the disassembly of the gamepad.

Odp: Glueing Xperia play in open position?
Just don't close it. It's not that hard. I've bought the play about 3 months after it came out (my 1st touch phone ) and I have it till this day and I've never had any problems with hardware. It's about 2 years and my play was never dismantled even tho I've got a custom firmware from about 3 days I got my phone. don't be so paranoid. Just take care of it and you'll be fine

If you want something for games you should get a PSP or psvita because there arent going to be many more games for this since its pretty old. Unless you want it for emulators then that's a good reason to get it

Why would you want to? The only reason I could make up is a smaller screen if you don't like the big screen, but if you liked it, you'll definitly miss the note 2. Plus that the note 2's battery life is higher than the Z's.
As I heard that Sony Xperia Z has poor battery life but generally it's great phone
I thought about it too at some point. But I've just gotten too use to the screen size of the note 2 along with the Spen. I also like the fact that it's easier to repair and I can order a full housing for the note 2 for dirt cheap.

Both are nice phones but personally id go for Samsung everytime with the extra features> Spen, Airview, OTG / MHL, groupshare etc
Wait for Note 3 / Xperia Z *ultra*. If you want a large screen and a stylus that is.
I think the closest to the Xperia Z from Samsung is the S4 active so you may want to take a look if you want a smaller phone and don't use the stylus.
Of course, like most people in this forum I like Samsung but these new Xperia phones look nice too. Also, surprisingly for Sony, they seem to treat developers well (unlockable bootloader + exemplary GPL complience).
