Hey guys i'm running [ROM][ICS 4.0.4]:ARKSIDE.UCLE2::[BETA05][15 Toggle MOD with MAD SKILLZ][5.20.2012] (TDJ Awsome Developer!)
whenever i put my phone on vibrate and im reciving phone calls or text the vibration is so low that i can barelly feel it in my pocket..i went through the settings increased it from there as well but it feels as if the vibration is very low when ever i put my phone on vibrate.
However when i was changing the setting i felt the vibration and it was strong so i know that there is nothing wrong physically on the phone..
HELP PLEASE!!!What do i do?
Install a different Rom not based on the UCLE2 leak. It seems to be an issue with the leak and most, if not all Roms based on it suffer from weak vibration.

Hi guys, sorry if this question has already been asked, I already tried searching and all I've found is people complaining about it but no solution.
Has anyone else upgraded to the leaked ICS and notice extremely weak vibration afterwards? Yes I know how to adjust vibration under sound but even at all the way up a call or text feels as soft as a haptic feedback vibration
Is there any way around this? I'm running the latest ICS Perfection if that helps. Thanks in advance!
Leak ics is too much laggy so i move back to GB.
Wait till our karnel release and it will solve all problems.

I figured it would be kernel related, it sucks that its the little things like this that make the roms unusable for daily use and all the dev's hard work on the leak not worth it
I originally posted this on the androidforums.com site but I read that people have moved over here so I'm hoping crossposting will get us people with this problem so idea on how to fix it.
Anyway, when I first purchased this phone through TMobile, not only were the vibrations weak for texts and calls, but the sounds were also a problem and hard to hear in a pocket at max volume. My friends phone had most of the same ringtones but a different model phone so I copied their tones over mine and theirs were much louder sounding on my phone compared to the ones in my list that didn't get overwritten. I've Googled on and off over the months looking for a way to up the intensity level of the vibrations for texts and calls but haven't found anything, not even and app for that. I haven't rooted or altered this phone yet beyond installing apps.
Called into Tmobile tech support this week and factory rest it to no avail. They sent me a new phone in the mail and it's the same, low db ringtones and notification tones and very weak vibration.
The GS2 phones on a particular Canadian network are build a bit differently and have a good vibration mechanism and the GS2 phones on Sprint are a bit different too because I believe they have the flashing LED light on the front, so that means that not all GS2 phones are built with the same hardware. This makes it hard to figure out if it's a software problem or a hardware problem.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I haven't rooted or installed a different ROM before so has anyone had this weak vibration problem then installed a different ROM and this fix it? I ask this thinking that maybe the mechanism has the ability to vibrate with more intensity but has been engineered down for some reason.
I'm babbling now and not really educated enough on what all could be gained to combat this problem via a new ROM.
Any thoughts or comments from others with this problem?
Im on AOKP JB and volume and vibration seem normal. Learn to flash and enjoy the wonderful world of ROMs !!

Okay so your phones vibrations seem normal, hmm. I see your on the T989 as well as being on T-Mobile so I'm wondering why I've gotten 2 in a row with a weak vibration mechanism. Do you remember if yours was weak before you modified it?
Anyone else with a weak vibration mechanism, post so we can figure this out.

There are 3. One for ring vibration, one for notification vibration, the last on is haptic feebback; I have maxed the sliders out on ring and notification. Still pretty low intensity after that.
I saw Jelly Bean on an GS3 at the T-Mobile store today and in that version there is an additional setting where you can choose your type of vibration other than just the one short vibration that happens now.
Does anyone that installed the Jelly Bean ROM for the GS2 have this additional vibration setting where you can choose a different vibration pattern?
Use any Jedi Rom and you should be fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I went from stock, to rooting with the tool kit. I have twrp recovery. First I flashed frosty jelly bean, then I tried domination because I thought it was the ROM. Whats happening is, when I make a call the first ring sounds like a choppy ring like it is not a good connection, then that little tune that plays(the connection sound I guess) is delayed until after the first ring. Normally I would hear that little tune first, then it would start ringing. When the other person picks up on the other end, they can barely hear me. They have said I sound far away or I sound like darth vator lol. They keep saying "what, what", everytime I say something. This does not happen every call though. I immediately thought it was frosty jelly bean, so I flashed Denomination instead, but same call issue. Another problem im having with Denomination is: I read on the forum a little bit that some people when switching from 4.2. to 4.1. their gps wasnt working. I guess thats besides the point since I didnt flash any 4.2 Roms yet, but with my gps problem, its a little different. When I turn on google maps, originally without gps enabled it was able to pick up my location using mobile networks or wifi (yes they are turned on). It does in fact locate when gps is on. What do you guys think about these 2 problems?
Have you tried changing the Kernel? I have had the odd call sound issues on certain combinations of kernels and roms.

No. Whatever Kernel that it comes with I guess. Are you talking about in the aroma installer, it asks you if you want aggressive, optimal, extreme RAM free, etc? Are those the different kernels? If not, what are those options?
Hi everyone..
Did anyone notice that the samsung ROM and ROM based on it has a better vibration intensity and it feels better than the on in AOSP based ROM which have vibration provided by CM10.1
Anyone has any idea? Anyone know a system file that can do the trick? Anything that helps in that?

I have a related but different issue - the vibrate works fine with the screen on, but stutters and becomes incredibly weak when the phone is locked and the screen is off. Any ideas?
In my rom (yours may be different) there's settings>Advanced>Haptic>Vibration intensity - choose 100% and it's noticeably better than stock...but all intensities have the same problem when the screen is off
i am having a strange issue. Running Virgin Rom Google Edition 4.4.4.
Every time I am on the phone, screen turns black as expected. Yet, when I hang up, the screen doesn't turn on. Very often I cannot wake up the phone by pressing any button. After about a minute or two, it becomes responsive again, and I am able to turn the phone on.
When looking at Better Battery Stats, ProximitySensor is the biggest battery hug. In fact it runs for as long as the accumulated time of the phone calls I have mad or received.
In other words, it doesn't turn itself off when I am on the phone.
I tried blowing the compressed air through the top speaker and headphone jack with no improvement.
Is this hardware related or software related?
i tried other roms on this phone and don't remember having this issue.
I like using the AOSP based rom. If this is software related, can someone recomend another AOSP rom that works well and stable, and is as quick as snappy as the virgin rom I am using?
Any help, suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
That's an issue with aosp/cm ROMs, only in touchwiz it works as it should. It's also normal for it to be on while you are in a call. You can try opening the phone and blowing in it instead of just from the outside
I am confused by what you write.
You are saying there is an issue with aosp/cm roms. . Yet, you are also saying that it is normal for the proximity sensor to be constantly on while on the phone. Then if it is normal, than what is the issue with aosp rom? Does the proximity sensor stay on as well in TW roms?
Please clarify what you mean.
Thanks.

Sorry I meant the issue with it not waking the phone up is the problem with aosp/cm ROMs. Proximity sensor needs a wakelock to detect when you move the device away from your ear so it can wake the phone up.. Wakelocks are not always bad

I dont know about it being a wakelock problem. I used to have this problem with the google play edition rom on my s4, where the screen will not come back on during a phone call, I got a air duster can and blow out the speaker above the screen. Samsung put the proximity sensor right behind the speaker for when you hold the phone up to your head and it get dirty easily.
Could you recommend a good TW rom that is light on resources and quick in real use?
Those are the aspects that attracted me to aosp roms in the first place.

I generally don't recommend ROMs but Warpdrive is the lightest tw ROM I have ever used, its super debloated and fast, but I found there was home button lag at first, but this is because s-voice was removed and you can't easily disable the 'open by double taping home button' feature which is what makes it lag, so I installed S-voice myself, disabled the feature and the lag was gone
