Hi guys, just wondering if this is unique to me.
With google plus installed, I still can't get an option to share too google + through any of my apps and there is no option to see my pictures on + though gallery unlike my other ics devices. From what I can tell too I am not getting updates through contact;s tab nor pictures through pictures in contacts from plus.
Any ideas? Cheers

doubt this will work but give it a try...actually two options. uninstall it and re-install it and see if it works. two have you put your account i imagine through settings -accounts and sync and add your account through there and i think it asks you to use Google Plus so i would say yes tick that. or third reboot your phone and try again
and fourth update through market
Is this not a problem for anyone else then? Just realised that some apps do allow to share to + but still no option to add + to gallery.
I uninstalled the updates which is all you can as its a system app, then reinstalled and resynced contacts. But no joy

Are people able to add their google + accounts to friend stream or pictures to gallery?

When you are on the gallery album view click the little triangle where it says albums and select picassa web albums - brings up my g+ photos

looks great! at least they are listening, I've had a couple of updates over the last week or so!
Lets hope for another quick update which restores the contacts sync
ty for this, wow new UI rocks, I'd throw thanks if i wasn't on xda app

Yeah it is much better.. they finally matched the mobile web UI. Hope we get contact sync back.

Given sync was removed from the Nexus S I doubt we'll get it back on the GN.
Finally, a Facebook update thats worthwhile. It looks more like the iOS version now which is surprisingly a good thing!

I was about to write the exact same thing.
Facebook's contact sync is still in the app, but it's only accessible through the legacy (read: physical) menu button.
Looks like facebook just got lazy and didn't carry over the entire settings menu into the new ui.
Maybe a nice dev can fix their crap and give you a way to access that 2nd menu?

Nah, afaik it's really FB that doesn't let it sync. Got something to do with FB refusing to use Google's APIs. There's a post on that issue somewhere, can't find it atm. Unless FB change their attitude, we won't be seeing sync in Android.
You are indeed correct.
Hadn't heard of this before, so did some digging and apparently Google got tired of giving FB special access to do a pseudo-sync of contacts (in other words, even though FB data was in the contacts app, it didn't actually sync to google contacts).
I'll have to keep this in mind when I get around to picking up my own Nexus.

Works well!
Does anyone get facebook notifications i have not had any yet on my GN or does anykne know how to fix it?
Is no-one else having the same UI glitches that I have?
When I pull down to refresh, it doesn't pull the feed down, just the bar at the top. Looks really clumsy and I don't think it's meant to behave like this.
Also, it gives me notifications for unread messages every half hour, regardless of whether there are new ones or not.

Does work well. Wish the images were Hi-Res though.
Also, deleting messages doesn't work reliably. I don't get it... If this was iPhone, it'd get fixed immediately but Android seems to get an 'almost works' version every time.
In gallery I have many albums from picasa, how can I sort it by the date just like I see it on computer?
I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of it out if my gallery !!
When I first signed in to my phone, assigning my Google account.. I disabled everything from sync except Contacts, Calendar and Gmail.. but for some f*ck'd up reason.. my Google galleries are all in my gallery app ??????

Settings/accounts and sync/select Google and uncheck Google photos and picasa web, After go to application manager (settings) select the "ALL" tab, scroll down till you see gallery and clear data and force stop. Reboot phone and all that should be left in your gallery are your camera pictures and anything that you may have dragged and dropped from your computer or downloaded from your phone!

I guess it's not possible on this phone to see it by date (not by each pic time/date)

Thank You. This worked. Forgot to clear Gallery app cache. This was starting to annoy the S**t out of me.
You can also hide that stuff with the menu options in the app itself.
I recently updated to the latest firmware, but I flashed the ROM posted in the development section. I had set pictures for a couple of my contacts, and after updating my phone and letting Google sync my contacts back onto my phone I noticed that the pictures will not stretch to fix the area for pics when making a call.
I should say that some pics are stretched. But some aren't. None of the photos that are used to set the contact pic is stored on the phone.
Google doesn't save it in hd when you sync.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
So how can I get the phone to display the pic in HD?
If it's only a couple of contacts then you can do what I do and make a folder on your SD card with the pictures of the contacts you want and then set them again every time you go to a new ROM. Get the pictures however you got them in the first place, or maybe go on their facebook or something. Depending on how many you want to set, it should only take a few minutes.
If you use fb you can get hax sync and it will use hd pics and you can back it up to your Google contacts

Everytime you flash a new rom this will happen. I used to just go one by one reassigning pics, until I found this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jgarrison.hdcontacts
Just assign pics using the app and after you assign all the pics go into the settings and do a backup. After that when ever you flash a rom juat restore the pics using the app.

Hey Guys,
so I got my new HTC One M8 (Vodafone GER).
But I have a problem. I updated it to 4.2.2 / Sense 6.0 but there is no gallery App anymore.
The only picture viewer that I have on the phone is "Google Photo" and it does not show Camera Pictures that I took.
Even if I'm in my camera app and took a photo and try to "click" in the lower right corner, to open gallery app, it doesn't appear.
Nothing happens.
So even searching for it in my app launcher, there is no Gallery (or even "Alben" or "Gallerie").
The only thing I found about this app is going to settings -> apps --> Gallery / "Alben" (Germany u know
I even deleted the app data and the cache. But there is no app anymore.
And yes, camera settings are set to save pictures on phone memory.
If anyone have a idea, that would be great. I tried another gallery app, but nothing happened. I could see whatsapp pictures and downloaded pictures but no camera pics.
Please help
Tanks

Stock device, and updated by OTA?
If so, backup your personal data and try a factory reset. It could be some pre-existing apps or settings is not compatible with the OTA update.
HTC Gallery is also available in Play Store as a standalone app. Try to download it from there. Not sure if 4.4.3 is needed though

Maaaaan!
Things can be so easy
Thanks a lot!
This is the solution
Can you install the HTC Apps from Google Play?
Then disable the Google apps like: Calculator, Calendar, Chrome, Photos, etc?
And one more question, are the dialer/phonebook, messages, music, notes (Scribble), voice recorder and tasks google or HTC apps? (I hope HTC)
Anyway, if it doesnt. If you extract the apps from any M9 rom (maybe deodexed), could you install the .apk files?
Also, does it have the grid view on Recent Apps? (Please say yes)
I would like to know if this is possible as well. I prefered htc apps over Google...
From what I have seen and read you can do this yes.
Yes, this is possible.
My mind is a little blown that some people have these preferences, but yes, you can.

People have different tastes.
Like some people prefer Touchwiz/Xperia/Optimus/Miui/etc over AOSP, because each of these skins add something new that appeal to a certain group of people.
The big advanatge of HTC apps is that they are not completly linked to all the damn google stuff. I want to use the playstore for apps, but the other stuff is mostly an invasion of privacy...

Well, I mostly prefer Google apps, but the HTC Music player is awesome, so yeah that's the first app I'll be installing when the 10 hit UK market
HTC uploaded Boost+ on Google Play.
Guess what was in one of the screenshots.
Sense 8 apps.
See for yourselves.

Who's the say that isn't from an M8 or M9?
Anyway I believe if HTC makes it available you can get it from the Play store. If not then you may have to sideload it and hope it works.

Most HTC apps can be downloaded from the Play Store on the 10. However, one that is not compatible with the 10 is the HTC gallery app.

Is there a work around for this yet? I hate using Google photos...
Tried extracting the Gallery.apk from a M9 rom but it kept force closing.
I don't mind Google Photos as an app to create and save my pictures, but it's absolutely not ready to be integrated into the camera app. It takes way too long after taking a photo to review and edit. And forget taking a burst of photos, you have to wait literally a minute or more to see them.

3 choices:
-you could use Team Fulmics's ported apps
-you could download ICE ROM for M8 and extract some themed Sense 8 apps (but low chance for them to work... Althrough they are running on a Sense 8 rom)
-there was some thread on XDA where somebody actually ported some apps especially for the HTC 10
Imo, you should the second idea, because the Sense 7 apps would not quite fit with Sense 8, so better try some themes ones first.
If they dont work, just try the other things.

Because of the status bar. Is the stock google one.
HTC One M9/M8 doensnt have that.
So... I think HTC has made new apps, but they are not releasing them for some reason. :/
I can deal with almost all of the changes that they've made but I'll tell you the one app that I'm really missing is the HTC music player. I found the APK file online but every time I install it the app force closes
I don't particularly care for the Google photos app because what it would like to do is upload all of the photos from my phone to my Google account and I don't necessarily want that to happen. I actually hate the way Google handles most of their data collection. So I've made it a habit of mine ever since I started using android to go into the sink settings and turn off everything except for my Gmail.
I'm pretty comfortable with the way things are now
I have slowly gotten used to the Photos app from Google...
I did try to side-load HTC Music Player, but it keeps crashing on me... if anyone has a stable version, please let me know. Google play subscription isn't available where I live, so casting is disabled and I can't use my wireless speaker system...
Good grief, can't use the HTC Music Player app and can't edit the quick settings so there's a huge amount of pap in there at the moment. No interest in using Google photos or most other Google apps, seems to me like HTC has sold a bit of its soul to Google and left out some of its good apps like the gallery. If i wanted a stock launcher and all that Google crud I'd buy a Nexus device.
Strange, HTC Music player crashes but not Htc Music widget.
