Does anyone know if it's possible to hide or show the navigation bar on demand? I'm running bugless beast nightly.
I found another thread, flashed the zip, got soft bricked. Anyone know of an app or another way to do it?

AOKP if you're willing to change ROM's.
yes, aokp, slim ics, foxhound(theoretically all the roms sharing aokp settings) will do the job. they allow u to control or hide nav bar in power button menu.

I have read on the Internet that you need to go into values/Bools.xml and change true to false. Well phone phone is lacking the folder values in framework–res.apk
I'm on 4.0.4
Does anyone know another way to hide them on completely stock rom? Everything is stock even the recovery.
Thank you so much in advance!

Any ideas?

Are you rooted? If you are try to search for Full screen mod or something. I'm not sure it's possible if your device is locked.

I'm wanting to do the tablet mod without using cwm. I can root fine and change values on my own. I just don't have the values folder in my framework–res.apk for some reason :?

Also downloaded app from this thread to see if it also changed Bools.xml or had a values folder and it does not so now I am lost on how to hide soft keys on my own.

Hide Nav Bar
Hello everybody!
So I have been looking around the internet for about half an hour now for a solution to this. I have a Nexus 4 and I just installed LMT and really like the fullscreen thing. After running into countless unhelpful threads about hiding the softkeys, I came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558
It worked!!! It worked perfectly! (at least it worked perfectly on my Nexus 4). It hides the nav bar without hiding the notification bar!!!
You can now hide soft keys (and keep notification bar) without modifications and reboots. Just try my new app:
GMD Hide Soft Keys
It also adds Quick NavBar - soft keys that can be opened with simple swipe from bottom and then autohide when not needed :good:.
Is there anyone that has the res apk with the nav bar activated? and can send me a link to dl it?
You know you can activate the navigation bar through the cm settings menu right? Otherwise, not sure what you mean.

The black bar like that does nav like the nexus is not activateable in cm9 alpha 2 but is turn onin aokp
Ah you are correct, I mixed up my AOSP roms for a sec there. I stand corrected.
can someone make a mod for the options to just change navigation bar settings like brightness, color and transparency? i know its built into some of the roms but i like my pure stock feeling but i love the ablility to change up softkeys
thank you!!!
No I don't think this will work with the stock navigation bar. Custom roms are pretty much stock + options. Custom roms are just newer stock roms. Since we have nexus devices the source for roms is the same.

Is it possible to install a customizable navigation bar on roms like cm10? or JB paranoid android? I like to use it because its easier for my thumbs :good: I used it on AOKP ICS but I changed from that rom and want the nav bar back =/
JB Paranoid has a navigation bar, but I don't think it's customizable.

Hi guys!
I have a question. And i'm sure someone can tell me if it's possible or available.
I know we can get mods to have a fullscreen possibility. But is it possible to hide/show the softbuttons by using gestures? For example: swipe up to show. Swipe down to hide?
Hope someone can give me an answer.
Thanks!

I think the cm team is working on a similar function, long press power and select full screen to show/hide soft buttons and notification bar.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
It would actually be awesome to swype in to show the soft buttons and swype out to hide them
Yeah thats what i thought too! If i had the knowledge to build it. I did!
